  • Fuckin Canadians and their flappy heads. I can picture her head flapping as she sings this. Not cool... NOT COOL!

  • Pretty cool.

  • Worse than Radiohead... but it's OK, at least it's not horrible...

  • Didn't they used to tour together back in 1995/1996? I've heard this cover years ago but never really fully appreciate it for what it is, until now. Well done, Alanis!

  • browned eyed girl..

  • I hate it when people say that the original is better. Come on guys, this is not a competition. Of course the original is better. Every fucking person in the whole world agrees to that. It's not like shes trying to prove anything here.

Can you imagine 'Britney Spears', 'Lady Gaga', or 'Katy Perry' singing a Radiohead song? I fucking love Alanis for covering this.

  • Sorry Mrs Morissette, but Thom is matchless...

  • she's awesome, i watch her singing even if she was covered in bird shit

  • Im sorry but this sucks the sweat off a dead mans balls.

  • OMG beautiful!

  • She's good, but nothing compares Radiohead

  • Rape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • deja vu....

  • good attempt but her falsetto is such a shriek xd..

  • Did she work out what ironic means yet ?

  • o hey guys. I love Radiohead, I can't stand Alanis Morissette, but I respect her right to cover this song and I won't jump the "OMG SHE DESTROYED IT" bandwagon because I'm not a complete twat.

  • I am a huge radiohead fan...borderline gay for radiohead...but for everyone to just blast those who cover radiohead, just pure ignorance. its a cover, that simple. just an attempt to add a new dimension to radiohead's music. i like radiohead's original better but i honestly think this is a good COVER. my opinion though.

  • @AvO156 im gay for radiohead but dont tell my girldfriend

  • not nuts about this, but fair play, tis nice in parts

  • a very good cover typically Alanis would love to see her live, but i wonder if there is a studio version of this song by her think she'd really kick ass with it.

  • didn't RH open for her in early days?

  • Awesome song..

    u also might wanna try

    Watermind - "Not Again"

    long live for RADIOHEAD!!!!

  • i want alanis to do a cover record, don't blast me but i think she could do david archuleta's crush song

  • I hate fucking plagiarists, especially those that vainly attempt to portray the divine voice of York. it seems that they would mimic the!

  • goosebumps......

  • Well I can understand why people debate about who sung this song first...fair enough to give credit to the original singer. More importantly is WHAT inspired the radioheads to write this lyric?

Personally I HATE plastic trees and plastic plants...just saying and thanks for posting the video.

  • this great song is not a song that should be sang with her voice,

  • Radiohead's version is much much better and with more emotions

  • Would love to hear Thom covers alanis' "Thank You".

  • Fraquinho. Depois de conhecer o original é complicado gostar disto...

  • ALANIS LIKES RADIOHEAD SINCE SHE IS DOING A COVER... if YOU like Alanis....then you would probably think she has GREAT taste in music.... right? I'd bet money Alanis thinks Radioheads version is better than hers. I'm just saying....

oh and btw I love Alanis too but Thom Yorke is by far my favorite choice of the two. :)

  • good cover

  • Well, Alanis is great, but you must hear Original version by Radiohead, and if you want to hear a Good Cover Search Here "Fake Plastic Trees - Puracane" it´s really Great......

  • fuj sta je ovo?

  • Ajh.. dont piss me off..

  • I love Radiohead and I love Alanis. I win.

  • alanis pega na minha rola que vc faz melhor chupa meu kcete estragou a musica dos caras...

  • I can feel her sing this i like it

  • Alanis should lay off good music and stick to the shiting crap that she does so well

  • this is not bad at all, really. Different though not bad.

  • This is better than the original!? This wouldn't EXIST if it wasn't for the original...

  • HOW DARE SHE.

  • What?? This is pissing on one of the best tracks ever...Yuck!!!!!! Unpost it!

  • lol radiohead version very better.

  • skicimi ... unless your 12 that comment is moronic

  • yeah.. it really is a big deal i didn't wrote in a description that this is a cover.

tell me, will i burn in hell?

  • @skicirni

whoever doesn't know this is a cover ... well, his opinion doesn't count that much

  • @fame777 Would LOVE your comment if it was grammatically correct. I'm torn.

  • ...IDIOTS. this song was originally by radiohead. you should have put in the description that this was a cover...

  • well, boo hoo

  • @skicirni have you listened to the original yet? so much better. listen NOW

  • clueless tosspot

  • Alanis strips this song of all its (significant) emotional heft and catharsis.

The original is far, far, far better.

  • @skicirni No, it's not. It doesn't even get close to Radiohead.

  • @skicirni rofl

  • @skicirni

you're a fucking idiot if you think this version is better than the original

  • @berwick73 i'm a fuckin idiot for YOU... gees, now what? :)

  • @shinytowtruck everybody knows dickhead, radiohead is famous...

  • How have I not already heard this?

  • nice!

  • she sings this song awesome

  • someone needs to tell that crowd to shut the hell up.very very rude.

  • this is a great cover, but the bass line is really cheesy otherwise this rocks

  • woow a like it

  • This would be really cheesy, but I'd love it if Radiohead and Alanis did this as a duet

  • radiohead song

    awesome

  • alanis is just to perfect!!!!

  • rocks my bikinis

  • Great cover. Kinda expected it though. She has the perfect voice to cover Radiohead. The perfect tone and highs and lows and timing. Very similar to thom. Always noticed that about her. Anyway great cover but not as good as the original but what covers are. Very few. So she should be proud.

  • I agree with you Caponis, very much so. :D

  • good cover, must say i prefer the original though.. can't beat radiohead

  • another good cover by her....

  • do you know anymore covers by her?

  • 'King Of Pain' from The Police, on the Unplugged album.

    'Norwegian Wood' from The Beatles.

'To All The Girls(in her case, boys) I Loved Before' by Julio Iglesias.

And of course, 'Crazy' by Seal :)

  • thanks for the cover song names.

  • Fergie. My humps. Alanis did a cover on it. Type it in the search.

  • thanks, very funny.

  • Not baaad :)

  • i like the way her voice sounds when she sings this song. its a good cover.

  • This is surprisingly delectable in parts. I'm definitely not as disgusted as i feared i might be. Phew!

  • This song was never meant for a female to sing. Not hating.. just saying..

  • ehhh

  • It's not that bad, but it's just not Radiohead.

  • It's unfortunate, but she really doesn't do this song justice.

  • she makes the covers her own, sometimes or most of all the songs she covered is even better than the original

  • Hey, at least she tried.

  • okay. good try.

  • Nice try...

  • she gotta leave the depth of radio head alone.

  • i want to cry

  • No...No...NO! why! There is no amazing guitar part anymore...WHY!

  • my god, fantastic...!!!

  • nooooo mameeeesss!!!!

  • that's not only about voice (though it plays great role)

This song is also amazing because of amazing guitar work, which this version lacks, that's why it's nothing compared to Radiohead's

  • Would someone be willing to send me an MP3 of this?

  • email?

  • Just rip it off YouTube...

  • how

  • Go onto google. There is a searchbar there, enter the term "rip videos off youtube" or something similair. Click on one of the 62 100 000 links that this search provided you with. You should take a google course this summer :)

  • oh...ok...interesting..where can i take that wonderful course and how much would it cost?

  • whoah? im surprise that she did a cover of this song. haha! i love radiohead. the bends, perfect album.

  • Piacere!

  • love radiohead, never really liked her, but ill admit she did a bad-ass cover, GOOD ON YA!!!!!!

  • i actually think she did a great job, is sounds as alanis but with radioheads escence

  • wonderful.I love her

  • This isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Kudos Ms. Morissette. Everyone should check out the Radiohead Glastonbury 2003 video for this song though; it really goes to 11.

  • i think she does a very good job. it's a very very decent cover of the song. the song is perfect by Radiohead, but I don't think anyone could've done it better.

  • Shakira !

  • it have been said that shakira copies alanis and not the other way around...

  • wtf?!!!!!!!!!

  • I think her voice is bad ass and really compliments some of the inflections in the song. Besides- if you don't like alanis, move on and comment somewhere else!

  • Stop bitching about Alanis. You do know that Radiohead opened for her on one of her tours right. She has an interesting voice and I think an interesting song from an interesting band is great choice of a cover for her to do.

  • Don't know why you all people're fussing about this cover? It was not her intention to litteraly cover the song; she did it the way she sings, in her own language.. gosh!

  • ...doubtful and no. Not a good cover but please no comparisons to Hilton.

  • I like her covers..i like her soundgarden cover too(black hole sun)!! really cool!

  • Thats Awesome!!!!!!

  • Well. Off course Alanis don't reach Thom Yorke... (I am one of the biggest Alanis fans). But if she makes estudio version that could be overpassed.

  • i love her...

  • Sorry, I meant for that to be in response to michaeltownsend604's comment

  • This song is a classic,Radiohead is a great band.I think she did a good job here.I liked it.

  • i find it hard to slag off anyone who likes this song enough to cover it. however, i think radiohead's version is so beautiful because thom yorkes voice is almost haunting, whereas morissette's is too sort of clean and airy.. but thats just me.

  • I agree with you completely. Don't get me wrong, I am an Alanis fan! But it doesn't have the same effect as Thom Yorkes voice.

  • I think Alanis is pretty cool, but I have to honestly say Thom Yorke's voice is more beautiful. But I like this cover. Well done, on her part.

  • I like Radiohead and all...but seriously Morissette has a better voice (I mean range wise and whatnot.).

  • Are you sure? Because Thom can hit it pretty fucking high.

  • I don't think one of the voices is better, simply are different.

  • No one has the right to criticise Alanis unless your personal talent surpasses hers. See her live then you will know what genius is.

  • so you can't critisise someone unless you can do their job better?

So you can't criticise a politician because you can't do their job?

Yeah nice one dip shit. As a fan of Radiohead I can criticise this shite.

  • Likewise I can crticise your stupidity.

Good for you like, must be liberating even empowering for someone like you to use a powerful word like dip shit (such intelligence). Not agreeing with an opinion doesn't issue licence for ignorance.

  • You cannot put a point like: "No one has the right to criticise..." and justify it with such a weak argument...I'm sure she wants people around who criticise her not 'yes men' like yourself salivating over EVERYTHING she does.

If you are going to criticise 'stupidity' then realise that 'dip shit' is two words...

  • You're 100% right, danny ma man

  • Why thank you :)

  • I don't understand why people feel the need to hate on Alanis. I personally like this song and what she has done with it. It seems that when someone does a cover, people are so quick to throw them to the lions in the coliseum. To those who bash Alanis in general, if you hate her and her music so much, why do you seek out her music and spread your bile? What is being accomplished by doing this, except showing that you have nothing worthwhile in your miserable existence?

  • I saw her do this cover live @ State College, PA back in the day of Jagged Little Pill and I must say, she brought the crowd to their knees with it. I am not a huge Alanis fan and I love Radiohead's original version, but if you saw her do this song live, you would be amazed. She is incredible live and what a voice!

  • I saw her do this in Austin during the jagged little pill era when I was 12. I thought it was great and my sister told me it was a radiohead song. I went and sought out the Radiohead version at Flipside Records in San Antonio. Because of Alanis I was turned on to Radiohead

  • they searech for covers al day so they can say their fan of the best band out there.

(i have the luck of loving both though ^_^)

  • There is so much good music out there. To me, I personally prefer a cover that takes it's own creative license and deviates from the norm.

  • different

    radiohead s better

  • she looks like liv tyler in a way..that's a very good thing

  • any1 bashing this cover is dumb, no offense to skicirni but the audio is total and complete crap, so the reason the drums sound horrible is cuz of the quality of the audio

  • This cover is nice ;O

But noone can sing this song better than Radiohead.

    ;o

  • This cover doesn't suck as much as the others I've heard. Wow. It can't touch the original, but it gets close. She sort of ruins it with the first "she looks like the real thing". And the "Noooooo". And there's to much guitar on the "It wears me out" parts and the "who you wanted" part.

The funny thing is, I've heard better covers by youtubers.

Fake Plastic Trees is a classic song. It's amazing, it's too bad she can't convey that. Her cover is only OK.

  • "Fake Plastic Trees" IS a classic song, by the greatest band ever. This is a decent cover though. I think she did the song justice.

Radiohead once toured with (opened for) Alanis.

  • and like fake plastic trees is a classic..? no hard feelings, i like both versions (Alanis' and Radioheads'), but there's no need to downplay her like this(think of Ironic or Thank You). what, are you intimidated by her or something..?

  • "like fake plastic trees is a classic..?"

Trees is one of the most revered rock songs in recent history and is frequently cited as one of the greatest songs ever written in noted music publications. This isn't Wikipedia, so I'm not providing citations - any real music fan knows this. Sure, if you enjoy commercial pop garbage like Alanis, you won't appreciate real talent. Her so-called "rock" on Jagged Little Pill was a contrived, pseudo-emotional career move... just listen to her early work.

  • My god. No, I mean really, MY GOD!

You really are a cluster of jealousy and aggression now, aren't you..? Comments like 'Hey Alanis - don't go out of your way to kill classic songs just because you've never written any yourself.' or 'commercial pop garbage like Alanis', 'so-called "rock" on Jagged Little Pill was a contrived, pseudo-emotional career move' --- I mean, WTF?!?!? Why do you even listen to the songs she sings if you obviously hate her guts?! Just to spit on her career?! geez... :O :O

  • Alanis is a really great musician.. not as Miss Carey, Spears, Aguilera, even Madonna... they all cannot really sing or at least write good songs.. Alanis is one of the best songwriters of all time and I think there is no need to affront her just because of she did one cover you can't stand.. you are talking about appreciate real talent, well, you should see the talent Alanis's got.. in comparison to any other female artist nowadays..

  • this is just great....!

  • Got to love her
