  • What a nice man!...He is a example to man!

  • A thing of beauty. thanks for posting this

  • Peace.

  • Clifford T. Ward--one of the VERY few performers that break your heart with his beautiful voice and heartfelt performances. No entertainer like Clifford exists. Under-appreciated and overlooked in life, he gave us a gift that no one else has given to us. Gone way too soon, missed immensely. Sing with the angels in Heaven, beautiful Clifford, and may you know no more pain and no more suffering. Until we meet again

  • Clifford T Ward, the best songwriter and so under rated.

  • @Minxiemouse, I agree!!! No other musician like Clifford T. Ward!! Such a shame that he didn't the recognition he so deserved in life.

  • This song gives me goosebumps and makes me cry but I love it.

  • I was a kid just a hippy in jeans I didn't know my way, I wasn't able to feel, my parents never saw me play. I met a gentle man his music was from heaven above, his aching tunes touched me and showed me how to love. I grew to a man, big and strong, I saw my friends decline, but how I remember his songs. How sad that a loving soul should leave me now, that his life should be done, Oh how I wish for you Clifford that the best was yet to come. (For all that remember him and grew with him) Peace!

  • @onlylexus What a romantic you are! How I love that! I too grew up on CTW, I adore him. Some years back I saw a poster advertising a CTW convention in Dublin and out of curiosity I went. Imagine my delghted surprise when I walked in and saw Clifford himself. I took the chance to hug him and tell him how I had loved him from age 13. 'Though he obviously hadn't the health he once had, he made it obvious he was chuffed but not half so chuffed as I. Best wishes to all Cliff lovers.

  • @obriensheila Hi Sheila. I thank you for your comment, its very much appreciated. Its nice to know that there are still some some feeling people out there. In this big old sad world of ours, I'ts easy to forget the true art of composing emotional music. Something hard to put your finger on, but it hits you in the guts and heart when you feel it and hear it. My pal Clifford was the most feeling writer I ever listened to. Cant explain what he meant to me, but you'll know, i'm sure. Love on all. PM

  • So unassuming, Clifford was never over comfortable performing live, but the "artistes" of today can learn a lot from him. Beautiful music and meaningful words, thats what CTW was all about and the World is a worse place without him. Maybe he didn't realise how good he was, but to hear him just open his mouth and sing is to me what music is all about, its not about fame and fortune ( X Factor contestants take note * ) It's about the music!!!!!

  • No I am not scalpsie....I originally posted this video, not scalpsie !! The most important thing is that we all appreciate clifford's music :-)

  • ctwfan is my user name , not scalpsie...

  • @abbaswish21

Probably because YouTube is used as a monitor by those who are always looking to make a fast buck? I hope they accummulate huge fortunes; they will have more to lose when money has the same value as the paper on which it is printed.

  • @SeriousError that time can't come soon enough for me. Join the Zeitgeist Movement.

  • played this four times in the last hour it is so moreish luv it thankyou scalpsie

  • His songs are as good as you get.

    What feeling and passion.

    A great clip. thanks.

  • now I've come down to the essence: CTW was AUTHENTIC (to quote Elisabeth Kübler-Ross) - he was always who he was - no disguise, no fakes. Thank you so much Clifford T.!!!

  • oooh dugadel - sorry, sorry, sorry - I wanted to rate your comment with thumb up and clicked on spam instead - how can I undo that? To all others: PLEASE READ DUGADELS comment - It's not spam!!!

  • absolute class,i first heard gaye about 10 yrs ago on the radio whilst working which got me hooked on ct ward an absolute fantastic tune i love it r.i.p. clifford

  • I've known this on a fanclub video for a while. I adore this version of Gaye.

Clifford always looks nervous Live. He has dropped the key to make it easier to sing and messes up the chord changes on his keyboard in the first few lines of the song as well -but I love him all the more for that. As for the way he uses his delicious voice to add an extra syllable on the end of lines - 'if you decide to go away-o' etc. I love the pianist there as well. If only other Live versions of Gaye existed!

  • dugadel, thank you for drawing my attention to the extra o's on the end of lines - I also adore this version of Gaye.

And ctwfan: Thank you so much for sharing!

  • One of our greatest songwriters. Had the opportunity of playing on the same bill many years ago at a club in Redditch called 'Cloud 9', a real gentleman and so sadly missed.

  • I'm so glad that so many of you have posted fond, heart felt reflections of a modest but richly talented man. Consider yourselves blessed that you have his legacy in his music.

  • never heard of CTW until YOUTUBE...glad i did!

  • I just adored Clifford. I always wanted to write to him and tell him how much his music meant to me. I never did and now its to late. I really cannot understand why he has not got the credit he so deserves. Such a wonderful songwriter.

  • He was just so unusal - before his time - that voice and the great music he wrote. How he must have felt with his illness all those years - now I think I put the meaning of the words to his own life - living with MS and then to die of pneumonia (2001). God he was mighty!!! R.I.P. Cliff.

  • Great to see this, CT Ward was a great singer/songwriter,why do all the good guys die young?

  • absolutely wonderful singer and songwriter. You are so right about your comment.

  • Simply superb!!! thank you for posting!!!!! Listen to my song please?.,. I lived a mile away from Clifford T Ward in Kidderminster,,, get in touch fans!! x

  • I loved Clifford T Ward when I was 17...did you actually know him then?

  • I heard Gaye for the first time in the summer of 1974, just when other song (Feelings) was in the billboard, with all my respects Gaye with Clifford where a lot better. I have the opportunity to talk with a representative of the record company who tolled me they will not promote this singer because he was to local (I though, meaning just for England). I am sure that in this Internet era will be different.

  • FABULOUS!! thank you, thank you, thank you>

  • Thanks for posting this! Clifford's music has been with me for a few years now but I have never seen him perform it live. Great! Wouldn't it have been amazing to see what more he could have written in years to come? A real shame he died so early.

  • He never looks happy to be performing. He always looks unhappy. What a telent thou!

  • Pure Class!!! Great to see Cliff perform his songs

    his music is Timeless!!!

  • he should of been a legend

  • So brilliant to finally hear some Cliffort T Ward on here. Thanks so much for posting. A much underrated singer songwriter. Hope he becomes more widely appreciated in time.

  • It's great to see all the Clifford T videos. This comes frm a live show, around 1984...ish. Derek Davis was the host. He still is a big fan of Cliffords music. In my mind people in Ireland appreciated Cliff's music more than any other country. Thanks again for bringing Clifford's music to those who have not come across his music before. Pat.

  • It was in 1984 he was diagnosed with MS

  • Fantastic!I have never seen this before.Thank you so much!

  • What a talent and what a sad loss. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to see this.
