  • This is the first time I've ever heard Bernstein call Beethoven a great orchestrator. In other lectures he faults Beethoven's orchestration, although he still calls him the greatest composer who ever lived.

    Thanks a lot fo putting this up. It is one of the best of Bernstein's lectures, and I am fascinated by his opinions on orchestration.
