I'm an NC State grad...Was a frosh during the 83 championship...Winning 1 in 1974 and 1 in 1983 means nothing in 2009. Sid's a great guy, was a great player, but he's never proven to be a winning coach, not in college nor going 79-228 in the NBA. We settled for Sid; Herb was liked by his peers. The way he was treated kept some good coaches from considering the job. Recruiting against two top coaches 20 miles away in Durham and Chapel Hill didn't help either. Sid is, quite frankly, outmatched.
