I am retiring from the Army this year, after 20 years. I have said this was my finest moment in those 20 years. Mater of fact, I have saved this video and it will be played at the start of my retirement ceremony, which happens to be next Friday. @rikflair I would not have made it through the first minute with dry eyes; I'm impressed that you were able to but it does look like it wasn't easy.

I've long said that if I were in charge of things this would be the National Anthem and Ray Charles would be the only person allowed to sing it.

There wasn't a dry eye in the stadium! Had he performed this at Yankee Stadium, you would've literally heard the crowd weeping, cuz Ray sang the song of his life... Although Ray Charles was a legend before this, this definitely made him Immortal !!!

from 3:45 on, it was so great to see one of Ray Charles' happiest moments. I don't know if he knew how many people cheered for him, but it shows that he felt it. I thank you as well for this upload. I lived 1 mile from BankOne BallPark, and was so proud of the D-Backs, but it was impossible to get close to our home BallPark because of all the Security. And trying to find clips of the series is nearly impossible. Thanks Again.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have searched for this for years. I am the one holding the American Flag. I have never been prouder to wear my uniform, than on the special day. I also was able to carry the US Flag for the Diamondbacks first home game after 9-11 that year. Looking for that video as well.
