She couldn't have been the original wolf, she would have made the full transformation into a wolf plus people can become a wolf through passion and I assume the point of having that in the plot was to show that Jack turned Michelle into a wolf when they had sex.

The other sign that the filmmakers use to show that Michelle has only recently been turned into a wolf is through the motif of smell; when she smells the liquor on the detective, the lines are reminiscent of Jack's when the same thing happens to him a few days after he is bitten.

I have watched this movie several times and this is the first time I considered that she was the wolf that bit Will Randall (Jack's character) originally. Her acting shocked at him could simply be that she, like Will, did not remember much after they changed to human form. The horses not reacting to her could be similar to the horses calming down when Will was restrained with the amulet around his neck after awhile.

one of the most stunning women ever seen to me...i love reading all the comments posted regarding this classic movie/scene. i believe it is the passion if not bitten. although no matter how many times i have seen this movie..it never crossed my mind that she was the main wolf all along, but i thought that interesting. As I remember, according to the film's premise, one could become a Werewolf either by being bitten, or through the "Wolfs' offering his Passion" -I believe that is the fourth possibilty here, regarding Michelle's character becoming a Werewolf, and that it is the correct one, in that it seems to follow the storyline best.

she wasnt the wolf that bit will, if that was the case, you would of never seen her during the movie, since his was bitten by a full wolf. she has the instinct of a wolf by having sex with an infected will randall, who was bitten by the wolf. its like getting an sexual transmitted disease, except the disease was called "wolf", and not aids/hiv. so she had sex with a werewolf, she got the instinct of an werewolf. or you can wikipedia it. overall its the truth, but most of all, logic.

It is the Indian Mystic who gave Will the medallion who says, "Some people are so wild that they do not need to be bitten -- the demon wolf is already within them." This explains why Laura, who is a very rebellious person, turns into a werewolf too. She will presumably join her lover-turned-animal in the woods. Whether she does do this cannot be certain, but I prefer that she didn't because tragedy rocks. I always feel sorry for Will as he howls forlornly in the dark -- never to be human again.

Will turns completely into a werewolf because the final confrontation with Stewart (James Spader) beforehand depended on whether he continued to wear a medallion that would have stopped the transformation. Laura would have killed by the werewolf-turned Stewart had Will not sacrificed his own humanity by rejecting the medallion and possessing the wolf's power to save her.

I just bought this movie on dvd today and I must say it is worth every penny I put down. I enjoyed it and despite how it seems, I think this ending isn't all bad. Sure, Will does turn into a wolf at the end, but we see that Laura is also becoming a wolf as well and I believe that in the end, they will be reunited together as wolves. Anyway, very good movie and one of the best werewolf movies you'll find out there.

Also, it's worth noting that in this movie, the final wolf transformation is PERMANENT, not something a person can shift back and forth into -- which makes the ending more tragic and also negates the "Laura was the original wolf idea" (although I suppose that is an interesting way of looking at it.

I agree that her being the wolf all along would be the most interesting twist. Personally, when I first saw her, I immediately thought she had to be a wolf. She just had that demeanor. Besides, it explained a few things, like her not thinking Will was crazy. However, if she had been the wolf, then why didn't her horses freak out around her? I don't know. Her being the main wolf that bit JN doesn't seem to work for me, her attitude about things and they way she reacted to him being a wolf seemed to me that she was in shock about the fact that one man could actually become a wolf. The end confrontation also supports that she really is afraid, especially when she sees the grounds keeper killed, if she was a wolf already, she would be brave enough to fight the other from the get go!

there is nothing in werewolf lore about passion turning you into a werewolf. she must have been bitten when stewart attacked her. in true mythology only the bite of the werewolf can turn you into one.

Guys = to all those wondering about her becoming a wolf at the end - please see the movie again. When Jack N. goes to see Dr. Alazius the Doctor tells him that a wolf can transform you by a bite or by passion and asks him tpo bite him becouse he obviously can"t transform him by passion.

Jack did transform Michelle with his passion - end of story - and they lived happlily ever after.... aaaaaoooo

"Since i cannot ask you to transform me with your passion, I will ask that you bite me...." She fell in love, and the passion turned her.

She cannot be the "main werewolf" because she didnt belive in werewolves, Canine DNA in charlotte randal's body startled her, Stuart as a werewolf scared the shit out of her, ect.
