What happened since the 70s is the factory and manufacturing jobs left. Back then you could leave school at 16 and get a decent job in Merseyside. But Thatcher hated the working class and was only too glad to see the jobs go overseas. Getting rid of those jobs meant destroying the unions, her real goal.

this country has been betrayed by those in power,what a fucking mess they have made of it.They have sold great britain down the toilet,the kids of today have hardly any chance of decent work when they leave school..the government hides this by encouraging kids to stay on or go to college doing a fuck all good course about fuck all..we need to find some backbone again and look after those that were born here first ,we are going backwards not forwards and its a crying shame...

Sadly the problems still exist to this day its just a different street but the same area.
