  • Lest we forget where the tories (lower case intended) wish for the "normal" people.

  • kill all tories and the royal family, for a fair society.

  • Keep off our tip

  • Thank goodness the Tories are not in power again...

    ... oh wait. Ah shiiiiiit.

  • Perfect time to crush the unions..right now...they LOOK for problems, always complaining, our union rep was complaining about the price of the headlight bulb he had to buy for his new BMW.Remember When the Boat Comes in ? Lining their own pockets the work shy twats under the guise of looking out for the workers.Bollocks

  • What happened since the 70s is the factory and manufacturing jobs left. Back then you could leave school at 16 and get a decent job in Merseyside. But Thatcher hated the working class and was only too glad to see the jobs go overseas. Getting rid of those jobs meant destroying the unions, her real goal.

Instead of protecting our industries Blair continued the policy and also opened the floodgates of immigration to let in cheap foreign labour.

Politicians are the lowest form of human life.

  • Unemployment never left Birkenhead. Many long-term unemployed just went on the various disability benefits and that seemingly reduced unemployment in the town. I've known people who haven't worked since the 80s, and some who left school in the late 80s who've never had a job.

Now the Tories want to get people off benefits and into work. What work? If you take the benefits away - and the amount they get is a pittance anyway - what are they going to do? Just wait for the crime explosion.

  • ARM the unemployed. With AK47's and RPG's

  • What a fucking scouse growler 7:30

  • @Avitinyourface ..they are just out to continue from where Thatcher left off, imposing more misery and hardship on those that are already struggling.

  • The Scholl siblings, brother and sister Hans and Sophie Scholl, were members of the White Rose, a student group in Munich that was active in the non-violent resistance movement in Nazi Germany, especially in distributing flyers against the war and the dictatorship of Adolf Hitler.they were caught. By February 22, 1943, they had been sentenced to death by the People's Court, were executed by Guillotine on the same day in the Stadelheim Prison. Students

  • i live near guildford i never experienced anything like this even when i was growing up in thatchers britain suppose i was the lucky ones.

  • i remember tatin the tips with my dad in the 80s during the strikes

  • This is frightening, you forget how bad things got. It reminds me of a science fiction drama. To let things get this bad is unforgivable, the fact the government could ignore this I find disturbing.

  • @millseypne32 ..the frightening thing is that it is coming round again ..this time with even more venom aimed at the poor working class..mark my words..trouble ahead.

  • big society my arse

  • The torys will ruin the north east once again crime rates will go up house prices will drop again dramatically. Yet cameron goes on about how the wedding will benefit us all . It will only benefit the south not the north.

  • Yea and if were not careful we will be going down this same road.

  • i grew up in this an yer it was bloody hard

  • anybody talks to me about the good old days and when i was a lad everything was better etc i'll just direct them here so they can see it[s all bollocks

  • eddie the eagle came from humble beginnings...

  • eddie the eagle came from humble beginnings...

  • jesus unreal somewhere in a great country like England could gt this bad :/

  • 70-s 80s maun it was hard for working people in the north west, respect to the mams-dads!!!

  • Now we need the Militant Tendency more than ever.

  • There was a report recently on ITV about kids, in the Far East, scavenging on tips for raw materials - copper wire etc. The way it was reported made out that it was a new thing. I'f from Wallasey, and I recall seeing this show. Nothing changes really, just the geography.

  • Programme !!!!!

  • This was one of the reasons I had to leave Wallasey (the next town to Bikenhead).

  • it just goes to show if you have worked at a place for a short or long time and you get paid off, it shows we are just numbers .

  • Totally agreei always tell my kids that. Companys don't give a toss about there best asset the workers.

  • Also as well which ever goverment who gets in power, are all in it for themselves.

The majority of holidays and big pay they get every year is a total joke. Thats why when the goverment are on the news i always switch over to another channel.

  • Still like this now

  • Give me 2010 rather than 1984.

  • B.N.P is the only answer

  • @rabbithog

Yes knuckle dragging halfwits are definitely the answer.

  • you need to wake up son

  • Dont forget what went before with the Labour govt. crippling strikes brought the UK to its knees thanks to excess union power. She was unpopular because she made unpopular decisions to make which had to be made given the mess she had inherited from the previous incumbents.

  • @sunderlandgent you must be happy now and your city must be full of happy people with full employment.

  • Thatchers Britain .. fuckin, old cow!

  • @YCSMusic

Blair's Britian has ended so much better!

  • What's wrong with doing a bit of 'brown' now and again?

  • Is this the episode with Harold Shipman in it?

  • For Birkenhead read Sunderland in the late 1980s once the biggest shipybuilding city in the world in the past.1988 saw the very last shipyard to close here.

  • Awful. I can't believe people were on rubbish tips as recent as the 80's.

  • you aint seen nothing yet....

  • Anyone who seeks solice in the BNP, is lower than a worms tit! Get a grip, vote for a party with respect for every human being. We are living this again now, but myself and my partner are staying positive and keeping ourselves busy with voluntary projects until work comes along. DONT LET THE BASTARDS BEAT YER!

  • Well you won't get any solice by voting for the three main parties. All of them are getting policy guidance from Demos, a marxist thinktank and all the leaders are trained by Common Purpose. You should watch a talk by Brian Gerrish on the website of The British Constitution Group. Titled The State of the Nation. I agree with your words about the BNP as I nearly fell for their shite.

  • vote for a party that promotes the boom and bust system? No thanks, when the work comes back it will just be snapped up by immigrants.

  • Thats why we need to stand together and fight the establishment! The BNP is not the answer. Most politicians dont live in the real world and dont care about the peasants like myself. As for immigrants taking jobs, its only because there are now generations of people who have never worked, because they felt there was no point because they will be taxed out of existence. Then they are called benefit scum by working people and governments. Its a vicious circle we have to try and break somehow.

  • Got a feeling world in action did`nt like birkenhead. But having said that liverpool and birkenhead in the 70s and 80s the dickheads would do anything to appear on tv how low can you get

  • I went to Birkenhead once, and only popped in the shop for a couple of mins, and when i came out my car had been pinched!

  • Typical gloom and doom from World in Action.

  • its hard to stay waway from the pub and fags when you've fuck all to do. I'm an electrician an i was out of work for 3 months after christmas. unless you've been there you cant imagine how shit it is seein your missus goin to work and keepin your head above water single handed. and now i find myself out of work again. i feel i've been cheated out of a life by government fat cats who have continued to bleed us dry. I'm gonna give th BNP a whirl. ever read their manifesto??

  • So your politicians and fat cat capitalists screw you over and you decide to vote for the party that blames it all on foreingers? Fucking genius!

BNP are just tories in bomber jackets.

Blaming those who are in as bad a state (if not worse) as you, for what was done by those at the top is both stupid and self-defeating.

  • the torys get back in we are fuckd better the devil you no new labour are crap but cameron eton let them eat cake smash the poor feed the rich .

  • Where did you get this footage? I was on World of Action in the 70's. It was about the problems in Everton. I've always wondered how you I could get hold of the footage!

  • Going the pub and smoking fags is not going to help anyone

  • Anyone seen my car stereo?

  • Unbelievable scenes of people scavenging on a tip in England. Not right.

  • well if they would only quit drinking!!!!!!!!

    ERMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Isn't that the same pub that featured in the last episode of "Boys From the Balckstuff"??

  • eddie the eagle @ 3:11

  • Definition of gov evil: they know their policies are causing misery, but continue to implement them; but they do it not only to enrich themselves and their fellow elitist friends, they do it because they hate us ordinary people, always have, since the end of hunter-gatherer: Illuminati-Kapitalist Scum....

  • JMW49er. Well said mate.

  • Immigrants are scapegoated too for the evils of this gov, and most are fleeing their own evil foreign govs.

  • or under their mistresses'/masters' beds, or even in their 33rd-degree freemasonic-Satanic lodges. As the NUM's uncle Arthur said: "one out all out!"

  • but if the big majority of us did not acquiesce we will bring this whole system crashing down; then we can put on trial and imprison for life, not least for their socio-economic crimes, the *elite* scum, whether chief politicians, senior journalists; top-brass military/police/judiciary; the rulers' hired thugs (sorry "specialists") in various uniforms; boardroom trash; royals; leading vivisectionists; and any other inhuman *humans* we can find hiding in their tax havens

  • are vastly and disproportionately over-rewarded; reality tv, organized religion and other rubbish is used by the manipulators (i.e. the ruling class and their apparatchiks) to numb the population from thinking about their lives of drudge and despair, where workplace democracy is as alien as the royal family are deserving of their ill-gotten privilege and establishment favouritism (wretched *Wills* got his wings in 13 weeks; most good pilots get it after several years!) ...

  • of bourgeois origin; people are condemned to live on poverty benefits; the genuinely sick and disabled are treated abominably; prisons are overcrowded with, mostly, the mentally ill, drug addicts, non-violent offenders, and many innocent; soldiers, many of whom only joined the armed forces to escape the dole queue or dead-end (sic) jobs, are bullied by cowardly NCOs and their even more cowardly officers, and still have no trade union; the super-rich, in many fields,

  • and their scumbag capitalist Tuscany friends; £70 billion is wasted on Trident nuclear warheads; billions is uncollected in legal and illegal tax evasion/off-shore scams; illegal wars are waged in Iraq and Afghanistan; lovely buildings, countryside and wildlife is routinely vandalized and vanquished under our polluting skies; our pensions, pay and other working conditions are repeatedly assailed by a vengeful gov full of lazy, ungifted, scrounging MPs and ministers who are predominantly

  • Your just jealous! Pull the Ladder up

    IM ALRITE JACK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • those two sell-outs and class-traitors became. A single dad, I work with special-needs' children in a tough inner-London primary school, many of whom will be thrown on the scrapheap as many of us were in the 80s. Today, in our New-Labour paradise of equality, justice, equity, opportunity, and hope for all: unemployment is rising; factory closures are rising; manufacturing is being butchered; the rich are increasingly feather-bedded; dictators are armed and mollycoddled by this gov

  • not the mostly untalented celebrity shysters or City scum who use it as a rich person's badg(e) and immigrants.

The Militant-inspired Liverpool City Council (re-elected in 1987 with a sizeably increased majority) created many jobs, built good council houses, community facilities and did much else, and alone with Lambeth defied Thatcher's brutal rate-capping policy; wheras Blunkett's Sheffield and Livingstone's GLC caved in just like the cowards and corporate-suckers

  • A Lancashire lad, in the early 80s, I suffered long-term unemployment for two years after leaving school (despite daily efforts to find work), then worked on short-term cover periods on the bins and stree-sweeping, then left for London to find work. I was one of the luckier ones from that dreadful time, which has not *really* improved: like Thatcher's evil government, this evil government are still attacking the unemployed, us low-paid workers, the homeless, *poor* drug addicts

  • Look at all the pomp and circumstance! Just like Sunderland, no one gave a fuck! Smack heads, skip rats, everything going up, nowt coming down! Get used to it kids, its New Britain! The Irish have just got it right by telling Europe to Fuck off. Think about it, we all have to fall in line with Europe for this and that, but what about our taxes and cost of living? Do we fall in line with Europe then? Do we Fuck!

  • you would not see people scavenging from a rubbish tip today, we have moved on since then.

  • @bluwooforme No, many of them are now selling or using heroin or crack. Look at all the young homeless that are now on UK streets. The sellers have a captive market and the users rob their neighbours to pay for their high. Others, found ways to leave the country. I now hear that there are going to be massive cuts in jobs, services, and pensions. And for those who fell for the line that the unions had too much power, you'll be screaming for them when you see your job go down the road.

  • I used to play in the old trains near beaufort road when this was made.....

  • ha i was a kid in west kirby when this was made. well posh!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tip food

  • this country has been betrayed by those in power, what a fucking mess they have made of it.They have sold great britain down the toilet, the kids of today have hardly any chance of decent work when they leave school..the government hides this by encouraging kids to stay on or go to college doing a fuck all good course about fuck all..we need to find some backbone again and look after those that were born here first ,we are going backwards not forwards and its a crying shame...

  • Great breeding ground for the TRFC TSB though!!!

  • not funny.british stock should not be suffering like that, our leaders are evil and want the worst for us,So dont accept this as the norm because its SICK

  • we need a government that gets british industry back at the top, more ships more coal more everything, dont give me any of this foreign competition shit, our industry was the worlds finest and its no fuckin wonder youths have no care for anythin with this evil destroying fucking cunting government shitstem,if we had decent worthy satisfying jobs we would thrive and claim back our land

  • 0:23 7 year olds smokin haha

  • i remember those days now people would just sell drugs

  • Oh Birkenhead is wonderful Its Full Of Tits Fanny And The Potheads. Oh Birkenhead is Wonderful.

My dad is on this video, Birkenhead Till I Die.

  • Norman Tebbit said to the unemployed at the time "on yer bike". Did he not realise that to cycle to London from the Wirral and back was totally unfeasable.

  • i grew up in tees st, me eldest sister on this vid mad ay.

  • ye I grew up then as well in Vicky Road Tranmere when you watch this its mad co's at the time it was bad but now,, fuck kid its bang on respect to all the Birkenhead old school heads hardcore stylie

  • I remember this we grew up in Beaufort Rd as kids

  • gotta love the wirral!

  • we may have had no money and no jobs but the wirral was a brill place to grow up in the 70's and 80's...great people

  • Wow i remember this coming on tv.

Sadly the problems still exist to this day its just a different street but the same area.

No doubt Wirral Borough Council will tell you differently and supply you with a load of garbage statistics but you go and speak to the people of This area and look for yourselves not much if anything has changed. INVESTMENT INVESTMENT INVESTMENT MR. Blair
