Alright, now lets look at the statistics before we just say things that come up to our mind. Melo's career averages are: 24.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.1 apg, and shoots a 45.9 fg percentage. @dwade623: Stats give a short sighted view of a player: Lebron put up stats but loses games. Why? It's a team sport, not a one man show. If the best player has a bad night-the team should still be able to carry a win. He gets passive in important games especially forth quarters. He gets predictable- at the buzzer he always drives left for a layup over 5 defenders who saw him coming from beyond the 3 point line. How can you be with a team for so long and after u leave the team can barely win.

Lebron puts up stats and also wins. Just because he doesn't have a ring doesn't mean he isn't successful during the season. Lebron basically carried Cleveland during his time there, you can see their result with him gone. People tend to forget what Lebron did before the finals. When he shut down the team the Knicks (melo) failed to. Then he defeated the MVP Bulls. Melo doesn't play a lick of defense. He barely did shit with a better supporting cast in Denver.

It doesn't affect the individual necassarily but as a team, yes it does. When you dribble, you want to get the ball moving. Melo does not get anwhere. If you have season league pass, which I do, and watch every Nuggets, Lakers, Cavaliers, then you will begin to see how LeBron and Melo is wasting time and decreasing the time to set up a effective play. Ever heard of triangle offense? Well, that play requires extremely little dribbling. Melo would never be able to complete such a play.

I've seen Carmelo play for Oak Hill Academy and then for Syracuse, and I could say he is a prolific scorer. I've seen optimistic coaches and players who have or at least attempted adapt to new plays and new strategies. Melo has never tried to include his teammates like the other great players in the league. Melo is not playmaker, as you mentioned, and therefore he attempts to creates shots for HIMSELF. Dribbling is his number one tool to do this. Jordan never wasted time by dribbling to nowhere.

This is undoubtely Carmelo Anthony's best season. I can honestly say he's improved over the years. But he's still got to develop a "pass first" mentality. It is important especially how a valuable player such as Melo can end up in different teams with different coaches, with different play styles. It is important that he becomes optimistic and flexible.

This guy has BEEN a problem for years. I date this all the way back to the year he got hurt and was averaging 29 a game. Simply put Melo is the BEST Natural scorer in the game, He can score on the break, in traffic, take you off the dribble, and knock down a shot in your face, knock down the three and make it look so easy, like he isn't even breaking a sweat out there.
