how are peking man and java man erroneously identified?
nebraska man was a case of the media running with the story and not the scientific community.
Piltdown man was a hoax and was identified as such.
that science has a self correcting mechanism built into the system is great - claims are actually verified as opposed to say....religion, where nothing can be questioned because god said so.
there is no long track record...that is something you read on a creationist website.

What it shows is that science can get things wrong... thats a fact... at one point the common idea was that the sun revolved around the earth and ALL SCIENTISTS accepted it... But unlike many other philosophies of learning...science orrects itself... it does not keep insisting X is the case after clear evidence to the contrary!

Those thousands of pieces of evidence are actually in the millions. And these fossils show the transitions between one species to another you dolt. Don't bitch about evolution, which has TONS of evidence when your pathetic creationist theory is nothing but a fictional bedtime story. Open your mind. See that the answer is not in God but yourself, and that the origin of life is not through a man saying, "I want this. And that." but a complicated process through natural selection and mutations.

One of those pieces of 'evidence' they insist on is human kinds ancestry to Adam and eve... unfortunately given their timeline and events... unfortunately creationist lose another 1500 years due to the 'flood' event. This leaves a total of just 400 generations to account for human diversity... assuming a compulsory mating at the age of 10! And I'm being massively generous there... then 'languages' came about 700 years later! which means even Chinese litriture doesn't exist!

One of the most interesting phenotypic expressions to me is the radical increase in size of the pelvic girdle to aid in bipedalism, the australopithacines were so undersized but by Homo habilis and erectus this particular feature had already increased in size a great deal, these pics show that very much so.
