No, I don't think so... they interviewed him just before he went in the "music studio" to play. The two danish radio hosts are quite unconventional and the interview is held in a free and unorthodox way which seems to appeal to "Mr. Sam Sparro". I think he is following up on that and the funny way of asking him to play... thats it.

If you notice after the song he says "Tak" which means thank you in danish... so he is somewhat of a joker, as you say.
