I don't know if this would be very funny to someone who didn't watch the series on TV, but knowing the characters it still cracks me up. I loved when this show came on - so original and a ventriloquist character was a great idea. Chuck and Bob were my favorites. Actually Bob was...his smart-ass rude remarks were the best.

Yes, Mary's face is priceless at 0:50 and at 1:28. I thought that the characters on Soap were so funny, but I just loved watching Chuck and Bob, and I wish they'd have been given more air time. When I watch this, it's like watching it for the first time all over again, and I'm back in the 70's again. Just brilliantly funny!

@dnoble317 I was really upset when they killed off Elaine from the show. Danny and Elaine had just started appreciating and loving each other. Then again, the name of the show was "Soap", and it was to symbolize all the irony of a soap opera, but I thought it was terrible when they did that, and I remember her dying in his arms. Chuck and Bob were too much! I thought they were the best part of the show. Great clip!

Jay was a brilliant ventriloquist. He did an appearance on a show on HBO, I forget the show, but it was all these ventriloquists and puppet masters. Jay had Chuck with him and was funnier than anything you've ever seen. Especially a part where Jay was gonna do the old drinking water routine. And Chuck tells him, "if you can do that, that's a trick". The way Bob said was funny as hell.
