my whole life,my hair was the same length and texture as urs...6 yrs ago i gave birth to my daughter and my hair changed(weird right?) i mean its still curly but not as much..also..i straighten it alot and ive noticed that ive sort of trained it to lose the curl which was unintentional..has that ever happened to u? i know theyll come back over the summer(i dont flat iron over the summer its too humid,and the beach and all gets it nice and curly)

I opened this video a couple days ago when doing research about possibly filming my own curly hair video. I ADORE your curls (and length! I am growing mine out) and I am pleased to hear that your method is almost identical to mine. What I'd like to know is how often do you get your hair cut? I go to a ridiculously expensive stylist (and trying to keep it long, but healthy) so I only go twice a year.

@chihirosuh you also may want to try sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners in addition to oils and serums. I switched and my curls are less dry and brittle. Just a thought

also i know that a lot of people with curly hair don't shampoo it that often. they usually only just use conditioner. do you do the same??

My fiance has midlength curly hair. It looks good straight out of the shower, but after getting messed around under winter caps he loves, the top of his head is flat + super frizzy (the rest of his hair is fine because he doesn't touch it). What kinds of hats are best to not mess up curly hair? Or do you just try not to move any hat on your head too much? He's super-nature-man, and doesn't use ANY products--not even conventional shampoos, which probably doesn't help. Nothing I can do about that!

Do you have any tips for applying mousse? For some reason, I either don't get enough or it gets hard from too much product and looks awful. I guess what I'm asking is what's the best way to distribute product evenly and properly?

you shouldnt brush your hair when its wet, that causes breakage. just brush it with a widetooth comb preferebly before bed so you dont have to deal with walking around with frizz. you also shouldnt use a lot of conditioner because of build up, it wont make it work better if you use more.. you just use a good conditioner and your set.

Hey, random fact from a hairdresser:

Try not to brush your hair with the conditioner in your hair/in the shower. When your hair is wet it is at its weakest state and it will break. I have curly hair as well and find it best to just run my fingers through it after applying conditioner and only brush it after towel drying, using a wide-tooth comb and starting from the ends and working my way up.

Noticing strands of hair that are shorter than others? Wet hair breakage!
