If you wish for "Sikhi daa bootaa" to grow then boot out prakash chand badal the present CM of Punjab who is confirmed RSS agent.
SGPC which is responsible for spreading Sikhism is under the control of Badal (RSS).How will RSS help in encouraging Sikhi as they dont believe Sikhism is a different religion.
Similarly Akal Takht and all other religious institutions in Punjab are under Badal's control.
Sikhism is under greatest threat from Badal/BJP/RSS/Congress.
It is happening because we lost the last battle to hindus. Unless, turban gets its respect back, turban is not coming back. I wish it was not that way, but it is.
nice video....But we are forgetting one thing....Most impt thing in this world is to be a good human......I m a sikh....I do my paath everyday...I feel Waheguru is in my heart with me....But I can never convince myself to follow traditions......I believe not my uncut hair but a pure heart and good deeds to my society will do the work. Let this feeling of being a sikh come from your inside and not just by following traditions.
I think it is extremely difficult to keep up with the appearance of a Sikh in western hemisphere. Due to the fact that people will pick apart anything different they see here, and looking like a Sikh is just funny to them. I am a Sikh with my hair cut. I did it due to peer pressure as well. But I know for a fact that I'm a Sikh mentally if not physically. I study Gurbani whenever I can. I am secure and satisfied wit Sikhism as my faith that I can study other religions but never wanna convert.
It is upto the parents to lead a child into Sikhi but parents can only provide a path and society as a lot of influence. Pressure is on the boys whereas girls can freely roam around with their arms/eyebrows waxed and what not (clearly evident among the 'Sikh' ladies in the film).
Boys succumb to peer pressure & torment they get being keshdari. Media adds extra pressure. On one hand its their parents etc on the other its society. Most cant bear it and shorn their hair.
. Ive noticed its not only about parents and role models and freinds circle, but it is also about how much the community knows about Sikh's. If a community does not know which religion someone belongs to, they will tease and mock that person. I have seen close Sikh mates who have cut their hair due to the fact, of being tease.
First of all very nice video showing on what is happening today in our society. I understand this is the truth but we put this pressure on the MALES more then the FEMALES due to that when a male cuts his hair we straight away from his appearance that he does not have his dastar/patka or dari anymore. Myself I am a 18 year old guy living in Brisbane and been living here since i was 6.
Very nice and important video. Keep up the good work, Prabhjeet and Sikhnet. Good example of the power of the Internet to bring to light issues concerning the Sikh community.
