What fun to hear a song about Sudbury, Ontario! I've read about the nickle mines there but this song really helped me experience a place I've not visited. THANKS!!!
Love stompin tom,,he actually stop by my cottage (wasent mine at the time ) to play a few tunes for the previous owner, they were good friends and he sighned a piece of wood, its still hangs in the cottage today :).As for the yankey jerk, wow wee have to to brag about you have bush, lololol.
If you can't see Canada, but just your own back yard, you are essentially AMERICAN, with eyes and ideas that se 10 iles. This son, from a Calgarian is a unified Canada and working mans so g from coast to unify us all. If you don't work and think "vernacular" is a reason to dislike this song...listen to Beyonce like any red blooded American (not to the writer below but below below)
@paukva I agree! Great song, something you can dance to! I do tend to change the lyrics somewhat, though. "The girls are gettin' Stinco, and the boys are off to Bingo, We think no more of Inco, On a Sudbury Saturday Night". As a miner's wife, us ladies are a little wilder than our men!!!
Sudbury Wolves Hockey Saturday Night!!! Brings back memories of 1975 to 1979 for me. Duguay,Schutt,Farrish,Jarvis,Dan McCarthy,McKendry,Pierce,Marini,Bedard,Dave and Dale Hunter,Foligno,Carlyle,Hillier,Stefan,Hickey,Gruhl,Beaupre,MacQueen,Perkins,Allison, and Lekun.
who is Santa claus, an old guy bringing joy and fun to kids of all ages . and in Canada he wears a big black cowboy hat !!! thanks Tom ... long live the best ambassador of Canada ever ( sorry gretzkey )
Could someone translate this into American Standard English? Obviously another drunk Canadian trying to be entertaining. What Canadians do best is show up and drink.
@SteveWallsable Nice try, but why you wasting your time trying explain the words to this ignoramus? He's only here trying to stir the shit with people. That's all he cares about and nothing else. Do you really think he gives a rat's ass about Sudbury? I grew up in Sudbury and know this guy wouldn't last 10 minutes in a bar there with his attitude....lol.
@Andygarrett357: typical of one of you donw in the boondocks. We have fun here in Sudbury, Ontario and all over Canada!!! BTW...we're located in North America...Bet you didn't know this...
@Osayannx Nickel City is about 150 Km north of Parry Sound. Known where it is for decades. Too bad you are a loser and didn't bet a few hundred Loonies w/ me.
@Osayannx : I'm so sorry Andygarrett357. This reply was meant for the person who wrote this in quote: "Could someone translate this into American Standard English? Obviously another drunk Canadian trying to be entertaining. What Canadians do best is show up and drink."

@Osayannx I grew up in Sudbury. Don't listen to this guy. He's just one of these jokers who likes to piss people off on youtube cause it's a form of entertainment for him. Quite pathetic actually hiding behind a keyboard. Like to see him say this shit to a guy's face in a typical Sudbury bar and see what happens...lol.
@paukva : You wrote this above........ ( @paukva I grew up in Sudbury when this song was written. It's as catchy now as it was back then...lol.

Im proud to say i had two pitcher in Sudbury at the bar right near the greyhound station in sudbury with my friend justin and some stranger. we where traveling to Edmonton in 2006.. The bar was on the right of the grey hound station in sudbury..
@sooner70 I live in Sudbury, I can see the Greyhound station from my living room window, what bar are you referring about, Win Fortune Chinese Food ??
@northlanderdude I don't remember the name of the bar. It was the first bar on the right of the greyhound station, we had to walk about 10min to get there...
@sooner70 hmm, the only bar with a 10 minute walking distance is near King Street, The Park Hotel - now shut down by the city and the National, still far from the bus station though !
he is a great man, actually my family and i know him personally for my grandfather grew up with him in saskatchewan.damn i hate that crowd for not bieng more energized! if i were there i would be jumping all over the place haha.
@cawwin : you're a real downer but it'll always be INCO in his song. Won't or can't change this. Also, the song was written when INCO was INCO. Don't take life too serious. Have fun ..Laugh more.... :-)
Stompin' Tom is a legend among legends. He's a real Canadian, meaning he's one of the nicest people in the world but he doesn't take shit from anybody.
He kicks more ass before breakfast than most artists do in a whole week.
When i was traveling with a friend on the greyhound to Edmonton from Ottawa we stoped at the greyhound in Sudbury for 1 HR, we went for 2 or 3 pitchers at bar across the street to the right...
STILL a pround canadian because of folks like you, dr. tom...hi and THANK YOU from the UK...feeling a little homesick tonight...you made my night, tom...thanks
I've seen him twice, and he's totally worth it. And he really does forget the words - I won a t-shirt for reminding him of the lyrics for the Snowmobile Song!
Who, I say who in the right mind could ever, I mean ever dislike this?!?!

Andygarrett357 5 months ago
@Andygarrett357 HA HA HA .... Maybe I can translate it!
Tom wrote this song about the city of Sudbury,
where every Saturday Night- the miners used
to get together in the pub, and drink themselves silly!
The line: "We Think No More of Inco"
is making reference to the "INCO MINE"
where all of the miners work.
Does that help?

i saw him at a little joint on the Quebec side near Rolphton Ontario.
I drank him under the table that night, we were all kicked out. That was fun.
Tom can still hold a note pretty darn good, not bad for a guy in his 70's!
I remember buying cassette tapes and vinyl records of his, i still have some here yet.
