Dell's have always been the americans of the laptop world - fatter than fat. My Dell inspiron is probably as thick as 3 macbook air's . Just the screen is the thickness of an air laptop. I'm not an apple user but one of the things keeping me away from dells is their thickness.
Just to clarify, the display appears to be 1600x900, which some may argue is not "full HD" as you mentioned towards the end of the video.
Also, you forgot to mention a huge "feature"! To me, the most amazing thing about this laptop (and biggest selling point) is that it weighs 4.4lbs!! That is 2.2 FULL POUNDS less than the 17 inch Macbook Pro!
If you ask me, they should be pushing that fact more.
This is very nice presentation fo Dell Latitude Z600. I hope to see a new version with BDP-WR. The visual is amazing and very ligth too. Is this only available inside US and Canada? or we can find it worldwide markets.
thank you for the review. i was very interested in this laptop until i saw the price tag. it's probably because it's under the Business category from their web site.
@reydawg27 Yea that and your paying for some of the cool tech they introduced into the Z line...keep your eyes open for smaller versions coming soon! However smaller does not mean cheaper...
Your welcome, Thanks for the comment! Sorry I was on a bit of a time constraint in making the video, I completely forgot to demo that function. If I get ahold of one I will make you a quick review. ;) Happy Holidays
I see you also have a MacBook Pro. I use a MacBook Pro 17" running Win 7 almost exclusively and I'm thinking of switching to Latitude Z. Would you switch? I'm concerned that I've become spoiled with the great sound and screen on the MBP, but I love some of the new features of the Z, such as the instant on feature, wireless charging, solid state drives, etc. Any thoughts?
Its a great laptop, if I were to buy a new windows based laptop I would put it very high on my consider list! Is there something wrong with you MB that your looking to replace it? I really like the feel of the keyboard and the screen is actually very very nice on the Z. What are you using our laptop for most of the time?!
Thank you for this video! I've been looking for a more thorough personal look at this machine. The other thing I like bundled with this laptop is the use of the webcam to "scan" documents and biz cards. If you get your hands on another, can you review that as well? Thanks for a great video!
