  • What happened to these trains

  • Love it

  • My first favorite. :D

  • This is absolutely fantastic. Great work. It's just great. :)

  • great vid< thanks for posting this!

  • God!! @0.50-0.59, we used to ride trains that looked like this!!! They look abandoned and broke. The "SS" and the "L" were two of the lines which got the oldest cars on their last wheels.

  • very good pictures.

    Good music.

    The music I immediately

    downloaded.

  • Dont forget the QJ also used R32s as well.

  • love it

  • At 4:06 I remember a friend and I seeing a train with that big "M" come in a station and falling out laughing!!!

  • I'm only 27 so many of the trains shown in these great photos were in the system way before my time but in my opinion these trains are iconic New York City. Everything seems so peaceful especilly in the early 70's and 60's pictures.

  • full of graffiti <3

    great times

  • I remember some of these lines like the RR (also remamber AA and GG)

I heard there at one time there was an HH train.. It ran along part of the J line..

But What the heck is a T train and a QJ train??

Where did they go? I mean what was their route??

  • @orangie84 The QJ was a short-lived local service that ran from about 1968 to 1972.It's terminals were 168th Street in Queens (now demolished) & Coney Island. It used R16,27,30,30A & 42 equipment.

  • @East180thStreetYard I seem to remember some very old cars on the J and K line in the early/mid '70 on which trains the conductor would actually have to stand OUTSIDE, BETWEEN THE CARS AND PLACE HIS FEET ON FOOTHOLDS AND LEAN OUT TO ACTIVATE THE DOORS (OPEN & CLOSE) - IS THIS CORRECT? I also remember those same cars still having ceiling fans (I also remember straw seats, but I must be dreaming) Can you please verify this? Thx

  • beautiful pictures

  • Dammm These Pictures Make Me remember The Old New York This City Has Gotten Better

  • I used to ride on these trains when I was a little kid. I miss these trains especcially the R17 circular windowed cars. These new R160something trains suck.

  • @authentic09 they dont uck they work good i like them if you dont then sorry but those trains are the best

  • @authentic09 Same here I mean I'm only 17 but the redbirds were still running on the 2 line when i was 7 I loved them. The 160as that run on the N,Q,some run on the R., the J, and god only knows what else suck man the R-142As on the number six line are awesome I can say that they were the best replacement for the redBirds..but I still want the oldies back they had nice colors.

  • 5:35 was my favorite picture

  • @lblandori mine too

  • shame the old redbirds got dumped. Americans sure do some silly things..the reefing was one! even though i dont live in u.s.a if i won the lottery i would preserve those redbirds, but there future is uncurtain....lets hope the redbirds will return...

  • the R-22'S are nice

  • Thanks you, Videos very nice,

  • This is the New York subway of my childhood in the 60-80's. We had alot of grime. But it was hell of a lot better than the Toy train computerized Sterilized NYCTA of the 21st century. New for me was R32-R46 in my childhood. R68's and R62's were my late 80's young adult trains.

  • 0:56 i like that one

  • I miss New York

  • catch the IZ the wiz tag at :57 on the bottom left corner of the front door. Those were the golden days of graff.!!!!
