  • go cat go

  • I think that Mike Jagger stole some of her movements

  • Mamasita rica!

  • Woohooooo, awesome!

  • freedom in a cage

  • THERE IT IS! WHOOP! That KER-DOINK! lead break that made me go cross-eyed ka-bonk every time I heard it when I was 7yo lol!

  • 40 views to MILLION!

  • Shake It, Shake It, Shake It, Baby!

  • WWAAHHOOOOOO

  • That woman is in great shape, wonderful legs, nice strong she is hot , lot better than the foolish dancing of today, I do like hard and soft shuffle and jump-style, but none of those kids could keep up with her.

  • Yo quiero una chica Ye-Ye que baile asi de chevere...

  • Girl is dancing trying to ignore this super nerd

  • Someone wrote that girls just dance all hips and sexy R&B-like nowadays, well this person clearly never visits britrock/punk concerts, because what you see in the video, that's pretty much how we go crazy nowadays, too. Especially around 0:43 :D

  • I think thats like a mating dance.

  • animal planet.

  • it's a scene from a film ?

  • Thats how my grandma gets down

  • He did the same damn thing with the bank teller....

  • you should NEVER bang on an aquarium!!!

  • Those days..women had some serious moves!

  • The dancer is now a born-again Christian specializing in high school abstinence programs. The guy, he was Timothy Carey's little brother. He died from AIDS after spending the Seventies attending gay bath houses in San Francisco.

  • The best music video of all time. It can never be equaled or surpassed.

  • See, what the man is the video has not understood is that the purpose of a girl cage dancing is to watch her, not join in.

  • the year was 1963 and this band was better than the Beatles. This song, anyway, was way more rad than anything on their first LP, filled w cover songs... HA, there i said it!

  • Hey guys - close your eyes and listen. This is really raw and honest good rockin´ music. I´m a big fan of garage rock from the 60s and the Sonics makes my blood "bubbeling". There are an incredible number of great bands from the 60s that never "broke through". Listen to The Misunderstood and of course a band called THE ZETTLERS. Check up their versions of "Skinnie minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". It´s really f........n´ good and with a bloody driving beat.

  • shake it psycho babeh, yeah

  • the 2 highest rated comments are very problematic...

  • Love to watch that chick dance!!

  • What is most interesting about dancing is that it originated during primitive times from the tribes people killing ants that invaded their grounds. The ritual of stomping ants soon took on a rhythm and the rest is history.

Ok, I just made that up...but it makes sense!

  • @1971SuperLead LMFAO! Ant killing was not my first thought, but you are dead straight on! Hilarious....

  • @vgoth100 It is easy to imagine our lovely little go go girl is stomping ants and trying to shake them off, isn't it? lol

  • that's somebody's grandma

  • @miamiwax that persons' grandma is hot.

  • @miamiwax i believe the proper term is "GILF"

  • @miamiwax Unless she's danced herself dead by now..

  • @miamiwax Hahahsuioafhifhnsaipfahahhaha

  • @miamiwax wish it was mine :D merry christmas

  • look how she captivates him.....he is spellbound and enslaved mentally while she is the one inside the box..

  • @fullspectrumrainbow Interesting analogy!

  • thank history for the sexual revolution!

  • GO BABY GO !!

  • My friends and I used to go to bars in the early 70's that had dancers. That's when I decided I can't sit in a college classroom any more.

  • she can dance..hes a typical bloke

  • i really don't like this kind of dance....i used to dance like that when i was 10 and foolling around in the mirror :| it's a horrible dance, really

  • so let me get this straight, this used to be gogo dancing?

how the fuck did it turn out to prostitution?

  • @leopower7 Ya, grandma used to be pretty smokin hot! Isn't time cruel? 1967 was 45 years ago!

In 1967 this kind of dancing was often considered obscene. It seems pretty innocent now.

  • @1971SuperLead wow, that's interesting, so that's just one more thing that used to be better back then. time is cruel indeed.

  • @leopower7 Oh I don't wish it was 1967 again! Maybe this girl does, but in 1967 the Vietnam was was in full swing and I was facing getting drafted. Racism was still popular, smog was thick, music was pretty limited, TV was boring, people were so uptight,... and this kind of dancing is still available. In fact, you could dress up like they did in the 60's, go to a 60's bar in your 60's car and watch GO GO dancers dance to 60's music today! You just can't smoke inside the clubs anymore! lol

  • @1971SuperLead I don't wish it either, but maybe a little back in time ...

  • @1971SuperLead

Well, the preferred forms of primate mammals haven't changed so much in 45 years. Technology has, though.

  • Wow, no one has a reason to dance with that kind of enthusiasm anymore.

  • he can't handle it

  • RETROBABE!

  • This footage is from a short film called go go dancer I believe. I have it if it's not on youtube already.

  • @johnsolo123456 id like to see it, couldnt find it on utube.

  • @olhobbler look up "Girl In a Cage Part 1" on here, it's the third result down for me. The uploader's username is "MrMojomc". That's the original segment from the TV series "Repertoire Workshop", the episode it's from is called "I Remember Foxtrot". The dancer's name is "Lada Edmund Jr.", she was a dancer for Hullabaloo, did about ten years of acting from '64 to '74, recorded a few songs which were released on 45 and she was cast in the 1960 Broadway show "Bye Bye Birdie" with Dick Van Dyke.

  • Freak out baby!

  • someone is gonna be sore the next day. X)

  • Yeah! This is a rave-up! It hails from a time when people weren't so up-tight about getting out there and kickin' it up. So, if you made a fool of youself on a dancefloor -- who cared? This stuff certainly stomped disco (which infected the airwaves during the 1970s).

  • [♥]

  • She's hot

  • go go dancing should only be practiced in your own home.

  • Awesome, awesome to the maxxx!!

  • Undoubtedly, one of the greatest videos I have ever seen.

  • nunca me cansare de ver este video, me encanta

  • This chick is hot. Newadays they call them sluts.

  • she's one of the original Hullabaloo dancers. I don't know her name.

  • She's hot, she seems posseded! Have to admit that nowadays, girls aren't that sexy...

  • This video is an excerpt from the Repertoire Workshop series on CBS. The half-hour play is titled "I Remember Foxtrot," starring Bob Kaliban and Lada Edmund Jr. which first aired 4-9-1967. You can find out more by Googling "lada edmund jr tribute page"....

  • this is the exact same song as "have love, will travel"... quality though :)

  • does anybody know the story behind this video? it's odd how it never becomes more than her just dancing in the cage. pretty kick ass, though.

  • awesome.

  • I love this girl!! I like this video!!

  • cool song cool video

  • To Lada's fans who have been asking....

"Girl in a Cage" was broadcast on Repertoire Workshop on CBS on Sunday, April 9, 1967. Titled "I Remember Foxtrot," and starring Bob Kaliban and Lada Edmund, Jr., this was an "ANTA-produced drama of the communication breakdown between a husband and his go-go wife."

See the "Lada Edmund, Jr. Tribute Page" on FB for the entire play....

  • I bet that girl has back problems today...lol

  • The entire movie can be found both here on YouTube and also on Facebook (The Lada Edmund, Jr. Tribute Page). Here on YouTube, search "Girl in a Cage Part 1" and "Girl in a Cage Part Two"....

  • FABULOUS...makes me want to dance...b

  • This clip is taken from a longer play that I've seen, more like a movie short. Not sure, but the whole thing looks like it was intended to be an episode on a TV "playhouse" production. Storyline is that the guy married his dreamgirl go-go dancer, but it turns out this is all she does when she's awake. Lada dances to several other tunes in this production, including a couple of covers by The Ventures from their A-Go-Go album (around 1966 I think).

  • nerd-boy would love to be able to get inside that glass booth ...

  • i can say only a thing....UUUUUAAAAUUUU PSYCHO!!!!!

  • Classic!! Im collecting a few videos for a little project im doing, this looks amazing does any one have any other recommendations? Is the visual on here related to the original Sonics track?

  • This entire made-for-TV movie can be found on the Lada Edmund, Jr. Tribute Page....

  • almost everything about the 60's youth and counter-cultures - mainly the mods and rockers was pretty cool, including this song, but the go-go dancing of this era was kind've lame and goofy looking lol.

  • sha na na played woodstock

  • If this band played at Woodstock, the hippies wouldn't get it.

  • How do people get thumps up for comments like "This band should have performed at Woodstock"??? Plain stupid.

  • Bad ass band! Cool ass video!

  • At 1:38 it could be a Breakbeat sample...I have this track on a compilation named "Rockabilly Psychosis"

  • this reminds me twist and shout by the beatles

  • This is a kind of seizure I never mind having.

  • Ohhh fuck yeah, get it!

  • Saw this dancer in some "shindig" videos.

Amazing ,looks like the guy is auditioning this dancer for some pop show, and just couldn't contain himself anymore (understandable).

  • @PAULLONDEN

It was Hullabaloo on NBC, a rival to Shindig on ABC. Her name is Lada Edmunds Jr (no, really) and she was usually the go-go girl in the "a-Go-Go" cage set at the right side of your TV screen. Also cut an album while at Hullabaloo. I understand she was only about 17 when she started on the show (1965).

  • @ncirlfan she also went on to be the highest paid female stunt person in the industry . She at times, subbed as the driver in 'The Bandit Car' for Burt Reynolds in "Smokey and The Bandit." In 1973, Lada was the first "human" to successfully test and later lobby Washington D.C. for the use of the air bag, now used in every car in America.

  • I prefere so much this type of dance than Gaga's sexy ( or not ) dance

    I am 59 now.

I stood in front of the stage at the Target Ballroom in Burien.

    My ears are still ringing.

  • @tnekkc That's fantastic! I played this whole album during my cooking team's last cookoff! I turned a lot of younger people on to this.
