Qantas 747 400 Descent into Changi Airport

Flew QF from SIN to BNE. more or less empty flight and I soon realised why. Entertainment does not work, food was soggy and shit, not much legroom. Flight Crew were cranky. I then flew Singapore from BNE to LHR and boy what a difference. I definitely know whom I'm flying with next time.

I have to say i agree a little about them being not a very good airline...wouldnt say miserable, but the past 2 or 3 times i have flown qantas on international routes between england and oz they have seemed to cut back on cabin comfort, food quality and overall presentation, there a330-300's on the SIN-BNE routes are much roomier than there 747's, which are very cramped, wouldnt mind trying a flight on there a380's though, but overall singapore airlines will allways be the best airline for me

I flew from Changi in Singapore to Melbourne 13-10-09 on a QANTAS 747. The plane rattled as we took off, AND it was so cramped. The food was utter shit, and movies were crap, yet I flew TO Singapore on QANTAS A330 a week before and there was much more leg room AND better food!!!! I wouldn't recommend QANTAS ever!

The 747 often rattles on takeoff for some reason, Qantas or not. If you accept the opinion of an outsider, Qantas is a great airline.

Yes I agree qantas still best airline despite incidents occured last year it was enginner's frult :P also singapore air good too but arab emirate sucks including air crew arent that friendly i wouldnt pat a cent to fly with air emirate again

QANTAS rule. all the other airlines i have flown suck compared to them. the food was good, the entertainment was good. the cabin crew were nice. and thats all that matters, i had a great 22hours on their plane from London. the 2 little incidences that have happened this year WOULD NOT put me off flying them again. however i am flying Emirates for my next trip to australia, simily because they were cheaper.

I warned everyone who I knew that after flying with Qantas in January 2008 I advised that they avoid using their services as it was blatantly apparent that Qantas' cost cutting was starting affect the airframes and reliability and it would be within the next 12 months I expected a fatality.

They are only bothered about the bottom line - Singapore Air, Emirates easily thrash them for comfort and service.

QANTAS is still the best, the problem associated with QF 072 was possibly caused by the use of a mobile phone!

It also could have been a laptop whenever I flown from Mildura to Melbourne I have always found Qantas to a very good airline in terms of service.

The flight is only as pleasant as the duty crew makes it I guess. I've had plenty of enjoyable Qantas flights but plenty of disappointing ones also...but that's with a lot of other airlines too. Malaysia Airlines would probably be my pick of the disappointments with bad food and crew attitudes.

Hi Virgin - thanks for your response. I've flown many times with BA and Singapore and always find their service consistent and above expected for economy (they are not a patch on Virgin for business or above), but at the end of the day this is subjective - you provide feedback on how you see it; glad you like Qantas, however I will never use them again. In addition check out the reviews on-line they all say the same - hopeless. Glad you like the movies. More to come. .

no offence but qantas is far from the worlds most miserable airline. at least they have friendly and approachable flight attendants unlike the arrogant British Airways, fake Singapore Airlines and just plain bad United flight attendants
