  • So is this the same as the arcade version of Raiden 1?, or is there differences? Also didnt it come out on the SNES?

  • The original arcade version by Seibu Kaihatsu is a definate classic.

It just feels like it was made with genuine passion.

As if the creators were real fans of the shmup genre.

  • Reminds me of "Raptor:Call of shadows"

  • review hellfire

  • the "Raiden Trad" logo reminds me of iron maiden...

  • i only viewed this video for footage, but your reviews suck.

  • @Hambag2009

    lets see you do better

  • Reminds me on Tiger Heli (Taito, 1985)

  • Start using the Purple power up. It's WAY better than the red or blue ones

  • wow, great graphics

  • FUCK YEAH, RAIDEN!

  • Pronounced "ride-en." Just like Ninja Gaiden is not pronounced "gay-den."

  • Raiden for the Super cd pc engine is my fav.

  • bump

  • i have rauden trad for s nes but i want it on sega genesis

  • The blue power-up is best. Its that laser that locks on to everything, making it easier to survive.

  • the music sounds like truxton

  • Nice Playing Raiden Trad Shooting Game by Micronet 1991 i so Good Happy i Like try it Arcade Shooting Game for the Single Player Game Console the Sega Mega Drive Japanese Version

  • Ice Ice Baybe

  • Looks almost too Lando for me

  • i like the nice godzilla heat ray at 5:55 hahaha

  • I had the SNES version of this game: the music is better and it allows for 2-player. didn't had the awesome engrish early 90's hip-hop box though.

  • 0___o when mark was resighting the rap song, he sounded like stephen hawking lol

  • If you're some alien supersonic aircraft, how come you fly so slowly?

  • Any game with such excellent Engrish on the packaging HAS to be good!

  • I'm not a fan of Micronet's use of the YM2612 for the music.

  • Just got the Jaguar version of Raiden and am a huge fan now! great review as usual Mark.

  • Great game, love the whole RAIDEN series, I got this game on my original XBOX, it an emulator. God bless emulators LOL

  • One thing which sucks about this version is that there's no multiplayer mode compared to the SNES version.

    -kid thunder

  • wow awsome memories, thanks for reviewing this 1

  • is there a game like this on virtual console?

  • Have always loved the Raiden series. Wish they would have this on the psn.

  • Sound effects sound kinda weak.

  • The Turbo Grafx-16 version was the best at the time.

  • In mother Russia, flamethrower throws u!

  • please review soldner-x 2 on ps3!

  • @JerryTerrifying ray-den is an arcade game. rye-den is some chick in metal gear solid. lol

  • These kind of games are best

  • @Pro21xx

    in general the graphics suck

    on both systems

  • lol "made in japan, n-no..." =p

  • you should do a review of star wars: shadows of the empire

  • omfg at 1:59 YOU created the sink hole in Guatemala!!

  • i played alot of games back then, but never came across this one. Looks really good!

  • Thanks for making these videos Mark, there always great to come home an relax an watch, thank you!!!

  • This game looks really nice.

  • So this game was continuously dominating number 1 popularity long after debut at arcades?

  • @DanSolo777

the Arcade original Raiden was very popular

  • This was also on the Super Nintendo and in my opinion it looks much better on the Super Nintendo...

  • @marioman70

Sorry dude but I can't agree, the SNES version is a bit slower, lacks graphics detail [no ground animations such as people, vehicles, and cows], and is at a lower graphics resolution than the Genesis version.

  • @Chaniyth I'm not one for graphics at all... Gameplay > Graphics

The Music on the SNES is much better as well.

  • Oh Raiden Trad and your continuous domination...

  • great game but the super nintendo per one is far superior in graphics in sound

  • @shaden489 And sound? Doesn't seem like it.... Anyway, you're missing the point: This is Raiden on Genesis, that's why it's automatically awesome !

  • @Christuserloeser dude that means nothing man the super nintendo version is pretty good plus if im correct it supported 2 player mode witch is reason alone to consider it a better game but really its still a good game none the less

  • commentary is amazing ;)

  • the sound that gun makes is menacing!

  • awesome like allways

  • 2:54 Made in Japan! n-n-noooo!!

    What!?

The Best things are made in Japan!!!!! >:D

    AKA VIDEO GAMES AND ANIME!

  • @Megabine agreed dont forget tuner import cars nissan Skyline, Lancer evo, supra, nsx yeaaaaaa

  • @shadowtsunami Thats too xD

and i think theres more =D

  • @Megabine o women XD, the culture

  • @shadowtsunami PERVERT! xD

You think im a hentau pervert? lol

  • @Megabine lawl, im taking about WOMEN!!! those who are over 18 and hentai isnt real. just ppl want it to be like chu j/k

  • the ship design reminds me of life force on the NES

  • @scir91 Narr looks like the ship from Truxton.

  • god damn that shooting noise sounds like a fly trying to play a guitar

  • It's been a while, but I remember the SNES version of this game looking a hell of a lot better. It also had a 2 player mode.

  • lol do a review for cosmic carnage

  • It's made in Japan? Noo! * dza shokku *

  • eight mega BIT memory? is the like 8 mega byte (8MB) because that sounds like way too much for 1991

  • @AceVlog Yeah, that's 1 MB actually. In the 1990 companies used megabits to make theirs specs look more impressive. They did that on the Playtation too, with the memory cards having an awesome 1 megabit (128 KB) capacity.

  • @SteelSkin667 Yep, the DSL and Cable Co's still do that to this day. For example, My DSL speed is advertised at 1.5 "meg" per second. They don't like to tell you that that's actually 1.5 mega "bits" which translates out to about 160 kilo-"BYTES" per sec. Hell even many of their tech support folks don't know the difference.

  • @AceVlog What?? I think you are confused, 8 megabits is 1 megabyte, why is that way too much?, It's very little compared to other games, remember the sega megadrive achieved 40megabits cartdriges while the SNES only managed to have 32megabits cartdriges.

8 megabytes are something around 64megabits

  • Hehe it's funny that you always die at the end of the review. I'm already expecting it, while I'm watching a review and it's nearing the end. =P

Btw, you should try "Vapor Trail" for the Sega Genesis, it's quite similar to Raiden Trad.

  • It's number one domination long after arcades debut is so... continuous!

  • Looks like the basic shooter but not as appealing to the eye as other games. Good review, ima go check out the other ones.

  • Lol, Heavy Dolls run by machines.

  • I like the music at 3:00.

  • LOL,Aliens from within.

  • I have this game. But the Japanese cartridge. By the way the box art, booklet and cartridge label look way better than the one he reviewed. Shame I can´t understand anything that´s written on it.

  • wow... there is a raiden for the Genesis!?

  • It stands out from the SNes version that's for sure!

  • Man, that's quite the bass on those explosions

  • @TheLastStand001 no your not.......

  • @TheLastStand001 Die in a fire

  • @ThaBigman80

    Trying switching to 360p.

It's still fine, but it will load faster.

  • @17R3W i dont want te be rude, but the fuck are you talking about?

  • @ThaBigman80

Sorry, that reply was meant for the person beneath you.

Apparently I haven't figured out how to use a mouse. :X

  • @17R3W Ow its ok XD it happends

  • you know what i miss? the good old days when every classic game room video didnt take 15 minutes to load

  • @CCDevonEleven Mine doesn't check your internet connection.

  • @udai101 your internet sucks i got 3mbps download speed and it loads these everything fast enough to watch with out lag

  • @1993gandy soz wrong peson lol that was ment for the guy that you replyed to

  • @1993gandy No I load these videos in 1080p with no problem lol.

  • 1:58

    The BGM ...

    ... Crab Nicholson?

  • @drkratchet He shows his face in the older Classic Game Room show.

  • @drkratchet

You can see his face in number of videos.

    Here's just one:

    /watch?v=MPbrQmzUG8Q

  • "Continuously dominating no-1 popularity long after debut at arcades!" Love it.

  • Funny review, great game...your priveleged to be t he only one who can play it!

  • Looks fun. :)

  • i always wondered what aliens from inner space would look like (yet i avoid this particular thought when sitting on the toilet)

  • @synthem Yes I would too

  • the funny thing is I like this version more than the arcade version! It has the rocking genesis music

  • @iscrewy but in mortal kombat

it's raiden so there's different ways

    to pronounce it

  • crysis has aliens from within

  • Like Contra... spreadshot, spreadshot, spreadshot!! When will people ever learn?

  • The music and sounds effects sound pretty crappy. The only downfall of the genesis unfortunately.

  • good game very archaic almost on the level of Bubble Bobble.

  • I love this game, you can still play it on some sites!

  • The shooting in this game sounds like rubber bands. lol

  • Plz review some DS Games like u did before!!!!!!

    Thx....

  • @MiguelDrakeford aggred

  • I do indeed love these videos... but honestly ive had enough of the top down space shooter reviews... lol there are like a million of them.

  • Raiden II is my favourite of the series. I'd Like to play IV sometime though.

  • 1:05 But not Neon Orange!

  • Great review!

Raiden was always dominating, and before the debut too. :P

  • If you like Raiden games and own an Xbox 360 then I recommend Raiden Fighters Aces.

  • @emeryDH he has an xbox

  • @surfermanspore23 Sorry, I meant everyone who likes Raiden and has an 360 should get Fighters Aces because its really fun. I also have Raiden IV on PC, that rules too.

  • does anyone know what kind of capture device he uses for his game reviews?

    and what editing program?

  • @9B1T

Program for editing is some version of Abode Premier

    seen here: /watch?v=kalPqNNwlpI

    Here's more about recording footage:

    /watch?v=RluUiPAqrVM

He also mods consoles so he can capture better.

seen here: /watch?v=VlPgQ8UDDGc @3:27 it shows exactly how he captures.

  • I think Mark should review Tyrian 2000 for PC. It's freeware, and it's the best shoot'em up ever made.

  • Did you mess around with the audio somewhere around 1:13? It sounded like you just put a bunch of stuff you previously said together or something, wtf.

  • i have this game on the snes and the graphics suck!

  • Atari Jaguar version is far superior.

  • I dig how they ripped off the music for "I Need A Lover That Won't Drive Me Crazy"

  • I've got a game like this on a cell phone that i had in 2004

  • if it made in japan then maybe they shoulda used a mecha against the aliens i.e Gundams XD

  • IT'S ICCCCEEEEEEE

  • Not the best port of Raiden. I like the SNES port a little better. For the best experience with 2D Raiden, though, I recommend Raiden II or DX on the PS1.

  • its no cosmic carnage but its good

  • now to go and buy it

  • great game, this is actually one of my favourite space shooters.

  • This is the only Raider game I played and I loved it from the first minute.

  • I applaud the robots.

  • Anything with Iron Maiden Font will always be cool!!

  • @theaceofspades56 iron maiden is awsome

  • @MultiBob98 Hell yea they are!!!

  • 3rds
