That is their body- the ribs show a bit. I have a boxer who eats like a horse and does not gain weight. She is right on target with where she should be. They are SOOOO active - you can't understand just how active unless you have a boxer. I take her on 6 mile runs and she is ready for more!

I played with my boxer several times, sometimes it got rought, but he never hurted me, not once. They maybe look scary for the most of the people, but they are the most kind hearthed dogs! Just love them!! <3

Thanks for all the nice Comments. His name is Tank and yes i trust him with any kid that comes around.....As long as you teach any dog to share you Shouldnt have a problem. But most Boxers are morw than willing to share and play tug ir War.

I had a boxer dog, but she has gone already... I tell you, having a boxer is much more than having a dog. It's like having one more person in your family. And, yes, they have the best ability to play all day long :) And you can be sure, there will be no problem if you let your kids play with the dog, there is no chance of somebody getting hurt.

@kozas0 If other boxers are anything like mine at all, no. I can play tug of war with her and she'll be rough with me but if my 2 yo nephew touches the rope she won't pull at all and will let him pull her around.

@kozas0 No, because the dog exactly knows how to play or take care of a 10 months old baby, and knows how to play with a 10year-old kid. Believe me, he feels it :)

@ Rondi8: you are soooooo right they are amazing in their ability to match the level of play with kids and adults. The kid says "I am not giving up" and that is music to a boxers ears. They will play all day and all night . They just love people...

Cute and all, but this sort of struggle can lead to biting. As cute as they are, dogs are not people. 'Play' is more serious for them. Things can get out of hand.
