  • You ,ade a mistake i cant see any defrent in the pistures in the end

  • @Tsinepanos Must be the monitor your using then....because 74,000 others seemed to have seen differences.

  • My take on these comparisons: the main problem with the 2494sw is of course the yellow hue to everything, BUT it consistently had the highest detail in dark areas and better contrast levels overall than the other 2 (look at the mountain at 10:44 and the top of the left fence post, you can see how dark they are in the 2410 and 2409 but detailed in the 2494)

Im sure because of this, the 2494 could be a great monitor with some changes in color hue.

  • i plan to replace my TN with a new IPS monitor soon, but seeing that my options for IPS monitors are very limited... I will wait. I prefer gloss over anti glare due to the higher contrast and richer colors and I think apple is the only company that makes a glossy IPS monitor, but only has thunderbolt port?? I am sure in the 3rd quarter more IPS displays will be blooming. :)

  • are the blacks alot deeper with an ips?

  • Lold, yes, look at the blue, say it's not white... then go over to the yellow one and say IS white... OK, gj man.

  • @Bobromil The colors are only as good as the monitor your viewing it on....i think its time you buy a decent monitor...!

  • how good is this for fps games?

  • @93martinl Check out DarkMX1000 channel, he has three of these..and is a hard core gamer.

  • @WestCoastMods cheers for the reply!

i will do just bought a new tv and although the picture is better the lag is horrendous!

  • how is this monitor for gaming like mw3, bf3, starcraft2?

  • I prefer using a 120Hz TN panel calibrated using a Lacie Blue Eye. IPS panels typically have much more accurate color out of the box but a properly calibrated TN panel is perfect for me.

  • @ComicPenius Glad that works for you, but to what a waste of money...Using any calibration tool, including the Lacie Blue Eye is a waste of time as it will never be calibrated correctly...TN panels cannot produce accurate colors as you mentioned, so calibrating them is redundant. Also, IPS panels have much better viewing angles and have tons more connectivity options....normally. And finally their build quality is far superior than any TN panel on the market.

  • amen brother, i've had a 3007wfp-hc since 2008 and i will never get anyting less than a isp panel and 16;10.. anything else looks and feels so inferior..

  • @Midas617 Glad to see that you agree.

  • Ordered a refurb dell U2410 the other day for $275. The I found your video. Now i feel as though I made a wise decision. Though i did research alot before hand it wasnt untill today that I found your video.

    thanks for the video

  • @Stryk3r1000 Good choice, hope that you are happy with it.

  • Thank you! I have desided to buy a dell ultrasharp U2410! :D

  • @gusilago You will be glad that you did.

  • What with what I've heard from peoples that the Dell U2410 panel is pinkish in one corner , greenish in the other, fucked up when you looked at it basically? Fixed with firmware A01 aye? How do I know that I'm gonna get a A01 monitor when I buy it online( my 1 and only option). And even if I get A01 by chance how can I be sure it wont have the fucked up display? I've passed through this "lottery" with my current LG, I'm convinced now ALL LCDs are fucked up,either dead pixels or something else

  • @GholaTlx The new modes are A04-A05....just bought two more about a month ago....I have had no problems with the 4 I own. And yes most people own a TN panel, but this is directed to enthusiast and or gamers who should know the difference and should care. For the average user a cheap TN panel would suit them fine.

  • Thumbs up for the Red Porsche and the Hot Girl. Very clear and great examples of what a man wants :D cheers !

  • @Falhok Thanks bud

  • ONe last question before i buy this monitor. Does it get to dark that you loose the details in dark scenes in movies?

I had samsungs new 27pls beside a tn monitor and the pls monitor was much darker battkefield 3 when both of them was standing and holding a gun so the details was a little bit lost, it wasn`t calibratet though. Will it get better with calibration? And does contrast give better details if you set it to high?

    thanks!

  • @gusilago I don't watch movies on them, but I have not noticed it being to dark and losing detail in dark scenes. The higher the contrast the darker it makes the blacks....(and the brighter the whites)...but to much contrast can make you lose detail in dark scenes..as it increases the blacks, especially on a lower end monitor.

  • @WestCoastMods Where can I get the fish wallpaper 1920x1080?

  • @trema12345 I found it online.....just Google Oscar fish and you should find it.

  • I paused :)

  • Got 2: 1 had green/magenta ‘but’ very slight shift not noticeable unless tested for it. Those with pro. color backgrnd; 3cc to 4cc’s shift (2cc, smallest detectable to eye). Needed semireference grade did not wish to make $2k jump, Dell replaced & was nearly perfect. 2nd a OEM refurb & looks great. Some are seeing Green for they have not selected correct Color-Profile. Your post was a worthy review; I believe that Internet is only as good as the info it contains (Garbage In–Garbage Out). Thanks

  • Need new monitor for gaming and movies etc. Thinking of these but wich one?

    Samsung S27A650D

    Asus VE278Q

  • You said "Change the setting is the LSD". You on drugs?

  • @jaredtheavenger I think i said OSD....lol

  • @WestCoastMods Oh..... I guess I wasn't paying attention....mSorry :/

  • @Westcoastmods why do you walk back and forth when describing the monitors? It is really annoying hearing your voice go from left to right channel on my speakers every few seconds..

  • Great video!!

I my self am looking into purchasing a high quality monitor, however would like to do some gaming on it, a 6ms dell IPS 27' would be ok for it??

    Thanks

  • @Covonant117 At 6ms, you won't have any problems...many have used this monitor for gaming, even hard core gamers. Check out DARKMX1000 channel...he has 3 of these and is a real hard core gamer.

  • i cringe when a computer is on a carpet

  • @TheCoolBlues1 Imagine how much dust is being sucked up :P

  • @TheCoolBlues1 Where do you see a computer on carpet?????

  • i just took the dive and ordered the U2410

i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i don't get one with the pink/green color tinting issues

  • @1488slav Ley me know as I as very interested......the 4 I have I have no issues at all.

  • well, just spent an hour reading various reviews and it seems people hate the U2410 because of some pink/green tinting issue thats visible all over teh screen

i was planning on ordering one tonite :(

  • @1488slav never had that problem and I have 4 of them....but I also heard other having that problem with Rev A01......look for Rev A02,03,04 or 05. But I am just telling you my experience, I know of 6 ppl buying this monitor and posting comments here, so see if you can find them and see what they say. Also DARKMX1000 bought 3 ...check out his channel and talk to him.

  • @1488slav that was in early models. They no longer ship with that issue.

  • hey man, what would you recommend for me

i just bought an evga 580 3gb, I mainly surf the net, including youtube videos such as this one lol, watch 1080p mkv files on media player classic, and play games such as mafia 2, gta 4, fifa 12, etc I do not do any photo or video editing or anything like that

i'm willing to spend up to 1000$ since i'll be buying for long term

    thanks

  • @1488slav Dosen't sound like you need a very expensive monitor....because you're don't do any Photo/video editing......but I still would look for a IPS panel.....there are more available now at lower prices.....they will provide yu with more connectivity and more adjustment than any TN panel.

  • @WestCoastMods is there a 16:10 IPS and/or H-IPS that is even better than the U2410 in your opinion?

  • @1488slav Yes...but you would be looking at over $2000...The Dell U2410 is actually midrange when it comes to IPS panels.....look at HP Dream Color, Eizo and Lacie......but these type of monitors are for the professional sector....I really haven't looked at enthusiast IPS panels in while, so you will have to search on your own...there may be something better. When I bought mine I really wanted a NEC...but they had lowered their specs on their 24" monitor...they may have change that by now

  • Fantasic Review! Very infromative!

  • @acousticpc Thanks bro...

  • Brilliant review. I bought one yesterday after ages searching for reviews on 24 inch monitors. I watched your U2410 videos and was convinced it is the best one for my needs. Thanks

  • @yassarikhan786 You will be happy with them...Since then I have bought 2 more, and I am very happy

  • Perfect Review as always LM

  • @MrLlunker Thanks bud

  • fuck

  • thanks.

  • Thanks for an excellent review of the different monitor types. Have you experienced any colour shifts on parts or edges of your IPS screen. There is allot of chatter on the internet with regard to colour shifts on IPS monitors particularly the Dell u2410 and the HP equivelent. Thanks. Brad, Surrey, England.

  • @artlinkzowey I haven't had any problems.....matter of fact I just bought 2 more because I have been very happy with them.

  • Ya know without one of those monitor adjustment/calibration tools you really can't tell if the color is right. Try using a Spyder.

  • Spyder-Elite 3

  • @Deneteus I have a Spyder Elite 3...I think I mentioned it in the video...if not in this one, in another video. Trust me dude...and if you don't which is fine....just go read any link comparing TN panels to IPS panels.......they just don't measure up. This is a fact.

Also, it would server no purpose to calibrate the monitors for the testing, because most aren't going to purchase one and I highly doubt someone who owns a TN panel is going to buy a Spyder 3..that cost more than the monitor.

  • @WestCoastMods I already know those TN's suck thats why I have a Dell 24". Most people aren't even aware that the tech is different. I usually use a color card to set my monitors but I have found the Spyder3 Elites prices has gone down alot so I might pick one up.

  • @Deneteus Yeah, they are handy.....I bought mine like 4yrs ago and paid something like $250...I think you can get the SpyderPro3 for a little bit cheaper......still a good calibrator.

  • @WestCoastMods Oh I forgot to mention Calibration would give you a baseline to show how far off the panels were from the correct color. I think if you are going to spend a ton of money on your machine you should at least calibrate the expensive monitor you are using. Kinda what you were saying about being cheap when you spent a ton on everything else.

  • @Deneteus The 30" that I took the screen shots from was calibrated. (color test)

  • Very informative video, thanks. But my question is, why can I see a difference in the picture quality, even though I'm using a TN monitor (Samsung BX2450)? Surely they should all look the same as the TN can only display as high as it's own image quality allows? The UltraSharp's picture should be above my monitor's ability... if that makes sense.

  • @Decimator9999 Don't know the scientific reason, but what your monitor has done is taken the information and reproduce what it thinks the colors should be...for example lets take the color red, your monitor can reproduce 16million colors...and how many of those 16mil colors are a shade of red, many right. So now you monitor assigns red and shades of red pixels for each color of red it sees, so you see a difference because your monitor saw a difference, doesn't mean either one of them is correct.

  • "I bet you all paused for this one" Damn You got me

  • @GTXMAN I would pause too....

  • To much sound. Heard about the loudness war? Music is to loud. Your voice is to loud. It's off the chart. I hope you take this seriously.

  • @LordGryllwotth 539 comments and you're the only complaining about it being to loud...do you think maybe your volume is just to high.....i hope you take this seriously

  • @WestCoastMods Statistics shows that one of 539 people usually appears to be a complete idiot. And this is how such comments happen :D lol

  • @VIPLeague Thanks buddy....

  • Awesome review!!

I'm a bit reluctant to throw my old Dell p1130 out the window because she still looks great but I might get the u2410 really soon.

Text on my monitor isn't the best.

The reds really look grat on this monitor as do all colours but that was the big difference along with the true white backgrounds and black and white images.

    Very very very tempting.

Just wondering if my old qx9650 and gtx 570 will handle her?

My old Dell p1130 is called Bess btw :-)

  • @Jellybeantiger You will be very happy with the U2410......but I wouldn't throw Bess out the window, just use 2 monitors........It's always nice to have extra real estate, heck I have 5 monitors in front of me....and believe it or not, there are times when I am using all 5, grant it one is hooked up to a DVR.

  • All the monitors I'm looking at on Amazon UK seem to be 16.78M colours.. which is 8 bit, right? Perhaps it's a different specification in America?

  • @Zlyzer Not really.. Some TN panels claim 16million colors by using dithering. Dithering is the process of juxtaposing pixels of two colors to create the illusion that a third color is present.

  • @WestCoastMods Is there any way you can tell by physically looking at the screen? Or any other way to tell?

  • @Zlyzer Some TN panels are very noticeable, where others aren't so bad UNTIL you compare it next to a IPS panel. What makes this hard is that brick and mortar stores don't carry IPS panels (except maybe a Mac)....so to compare is going to be difficult. I was able to do this comparison vid, because I ordered the IPS panels the fist couple of days of owning the Tn panel. Of course I returned the Tn panel shortly after this video.

All you can do is decide if it's worth you spending the $ on a IPS

  • @Zlyzer 8 bit is 256 colour (2^8 bits), 16.78 mil is 24-bit (2^24).

  • @BladeTrain3r Right, but when we're talking about monitors we more commonly refer to 24bit as 8bit, correct?

  • @Zlyzer Really? I honestly didn't know that, learn something new every day. :P

  • @BladeTrain3r I dunno, it just seems to be what a lot of the manufacturers say in their product descriptions :)

  • @Zlyzer Correct, because it's actually 8 bits PER colour, making it 3x8=24bit =)

  • Hey LazyMan what screen you using these days? You still with the U2410? Thanks Dave

  • @davef89 Yes, still using the 2410's with the 30" HP LP3065 as my main monitor........been very happy with these monitors, so I haven't felt the need to purchase something new.........Once a manufacture comes out with a decent priced, good quality LED/IPS monitor then I may think of upgrading.

  • The Sammy is clearly out of its depths here, but IMO the S2409 is virtually the same, but with its contrast and saturation slightly lowered.. couldn't these just be adjusted manually so that it matches the 2410?

  • @Zlyzer You can adjust till you're blue in the face...but the bottom line a TN panel will not come close to the color accuracy of a IPS panel due to the color depth...most, (if not all) TN panels use a 6bit color depth...whereas IPS has a 8bit and some are now available with a 10bit color depth.

  • @WestCoastMods "Modern graphics hardware uses 8 bits per colour channel to represent a picture, or 24 bits total (8 bits for each of the red, green and blue channels). This yields around 16.78 million different colours, and is known as TrueColour. Monitors with 8 bits per colour can reproduce TrueColour images faithfully, but some cheaper models of monitor only have 6 bits per colour (18 bits total, able to reproduce 262,144 colours)."

Is that what you mean by bit depth?

  • @Zlyzer That is 100% correct and monitors now are coming out with 10 bit....HP Dreamcolor, Eizo, NEC and LaCie, but these are very high-end monitors cost more than $2000 for a 24". Also Nvidia and AMD has workstation GPU's that can support 10 bit color, which is more accurate to what the human eye can see.

Eventually 10 bit (Adobe RGB color space) will make it down to the average consumer along with graphic card manufactures.

  • Darn Mac and their IPS.. :l

  • @r4microds And their crappy glossy screens.....

  • IPS looks better, no question about it but is it worth the money? If you ask me I say no.

This is my opinion: It's worth buying an IPS panel if you have some extra money you'd just spend on shit or if you're working with video or picture editing on a professional level or a high skill amateur level.

I still use my 15" CRT mostly cuz I prefer smaller screens for some reason. The day I'll find a price-worth 15" (wide) LCD I'll buy it right away.

    As I said, my opinion.

  • @mullewt No problem bro, everyone is entitled to their opinion....but I don't know how you can multitask with just a 15"......I personally use a 30", 2X-24", and a 20" and I sometimes still wish I had more real estate.......mainly I use the 20" as a HDTV when I am on my computer......

  • there is no difference between tn and ips i dont see any do you ?

  • @x33mmm You must be blind or just joking around. Just Google it.......I see on your channel that most ppl have had you leave stupid comments before...so to prevent you from having to make anymore on my video's I am going to BLOCK you.

  • Very nice Oscar i had one amazing can you send me this wallpaper

  • Very nice Oscar i had one amazing

  • Omfg im soo confused, i know that IPS look better but Dell's ones look like compacted in the sides compared to LED, dont know what to DO!!

  • Hi, thanks for the nice review

I have a dell 2407 wfp and find it a bit too bright tiring my eyes even with low brightness in a medium lit room, do you happen to know this monitor and if so comparing it with the U2410 can you tell me how they both stand in terms of brightness ?

    thank you !

  • BTW, In your video the LED TN panels actually display a more accurate white than the U2410. When taking the colour of a pixel which displays the screen, and converting this to HSV, the U2410 has a saturation of ~20%. The LED backlit TN panels have a saturation of ~5%. I know this is only due to the camera showing too much red.

  • @fmmjqtft1 The one LED panel that I had was not part of this comparison...it was the one in the box, which I had returned a couple of weeks before this video. I just clipped it from another video that I had done.

  • @WestCoastMods I was referring to the S2409W and the 2494SW monitors - I wrongly assumed that these were LED backlit as many cheap monitors are LED backlit nowdays. Cheap WLEDs emit light VERY unevenly across the visible spectrum, despite appearing perfectly white. When the light passes through a filter (ie an LCD panel), the colour achieved can be very different from that achieved by a CCFL backlight.

Anyway, I guess this proves the problem is often in the TN panel, not the backlight.

  • @fmmjqtft1 I see...but just to let you know they are all LCD's regardless how they are backlight

  • @fmmjqtft1 Thats is right the video of the white background and of the fish both show the TN panels displaying a more accurate color than the U2410 which is clearly yellowish. But the situation is reversed when the comparison was made. Also when testing the view angle on the IPS he stopped at a much milder angle than on the TN. This is clearly a very biased comparison.

  • @rapistmurderer Just saw you comment....bro in no way did I sway the comparison...maybe my video isn't perfect as you have pointed out...but again I did not deliberately do anything to favor the 2410's. Why would I, these monitors were not given to me fro review, I had to purchase them with my own money.

If you still feel that I was biased, just Google it as this is a known fact and everyone on the internet cannot be bias.

  • I have the U2410 :-). But for playing games or watching movies, people should consider getting something more suitable, like a 1080p DLP projector + some 18" sub-woofers. I find it amazing that some people buy 3x 3008WFPs for playing PC games, because it is a waste of what these monitors are actually for, i.e. colour accuracy.

  • I got it for about 200 euro. I'm living in Europe so i dunno the exactly price of it. Just google: 'LG Flatron IPS231' or something. By the way i think it is one of the best price-performance monitors i've ever got.

  • @robinspruit Thanks I will check it out.

  • i got an lg ips231 a LED IPS with 5ms and i luv it

  • @robinspruit Sweet......can you tell me what they are selling for...because I was looking at a NEC LED IPS monitor and it was over 2k. But then again NEC is one of the best manufactures of professional monitors.

  • in the what??? LSD?? kkk

  • @daniellins LOL...I was on LSD when I made this vid......

  • @WestCoastMods can't take you seriously when you spell 'scenario' as 'senerio'

  • @permatroll Is that the best you can come up with......

  • @WestCoastMods lol dell has no R&D noob they just buy parts from other companies

  • @permatroll No shit Sherlock...I'm not promoting Dell. I'm comparing TN panels vs IPS panels...what does that got to do with who manufactured the panel.

    you're such a loser....

  • @permatroll wow, you call people noobs. I think I speek everyone when I say that whoever reads your comment, couldnt care less what you said, theyl just see 'noob' and think what a prick.

  • Dell P and U series generally have the same, adjustable stand. But U series has IPS, while P is TN (though decent and cheap).

  • @roosswald Thanks bro, but the IPS is what makes the monitor...and I am sure there are some other differences.

  • @WestCoastMods Of course, just sayin' about the stand. I generally like Dell monitors (I used to have Dell CRT back in the day, and it's still in use and the (new) owner likes it). They're the only IPS (and 16:10) monitors widely available in my country, though now some LGs with IPS appeared at bargain price. Let's hope IPSs will become more common -- I guess that's the way the LCDs are going (plus LED lighting).

Btw, Viewsonics from VX and VP series are the best among TN panels, IMO.

  • Up until the red test, both the Dell monitors, infact all three monitors were going neck and neck in pic quality but after the red test began, the IPS panel blew the other two away lol, the difference was that much obvious.

Overall, I would say I would be mighty happy if I had the Dell TN panel which manages to represent colors pretty accurately in most tests. Of course nothing beats the Dell IPS but it also comes at a cost.

  • @madascene99 What about build quality, panel adjustablity, connectivity, ect....The IPS panel is a solid unit, very nice build quality, great connectivity and has tilt, rotate, swivel and height adjustment....whereas the TN panels are very flimsy, especially when compared next to a IPS panel...very little connectivity, and maybe swivel and tilt....they try to keep them a cheap as possible for the consumer....that being said you get what you pay for.

  • LOLOLOLOL your SAMSUNG sucks, and I don't belive it's how it really works.

My SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2053BW is much more accurate and any working monitor should me as much as accurate as the U2410 in your video.

Your tests aren't same for all the monitors and aren't fair.

It looks like an ad for the Dell's monitor, really.

  • @Retoon41 Dude you have no clue what you're talking about.......if you were to put any TN panel next to a IPS panel you would see a the differences in picture/color quality. If all you have is a TN panel and nothing to compare it to, then it may look fine...but it is just an illusion.

If you don't believe me...just Google IPS vs TN panels and you will see.

  • Not sure if you will respond but what do you think about Asus's all new PA246Q monitor? They saying this is the best IPS monitor you can for about $500 and it has gotten some amazing reviews so far. Im thinking of picking it up in the next couple of months but I'm really keeping an eye out for everything.

  • @Illmatic662 Sorry for the late reply...been extremely busy. Anyway, I am not very familiar with this monitor, but after a quick search it does seem to get great reviews and has everything one would be looking for in a IPS monitor. I think this is a good choice and sure you will be happy with it.

It may need to be calibrated to achieve perfect color accuracy..as even the best monitors do.

Let me know what you think once you have had a chance to play with it a little.

  • @WestCoastMods I really appreciate the response. I agree with all your points on this video that we spend so much money on our PC's/Laptops and we get a cheap monitor which kind of undermines the amazing PC.

Yeah, whatever I pick up I'll let you know, it's looking like the Asus but even if its anything else, Ill let you know how I feel, thanks man.

  • @Illmatic662 Cool, that would be great..... it would be nice if they sold these in a brick and mortar store where we could touch, feel, look at, test..ect before dropping $500 on a monitor.

  • @WestCoastMods I know what you mean, just this past weekend I went to best buy and Compusa to take a look at the monitors they had, I was assuming they would have had some IPS monitors, sure enough they had none in either store. They need to get a brick and mortar store that actually sells these professional monitors, I would still buy online but to look at it, and actually touch it would be important.

  • @Illmatic662 Yeah, they try to cater to the general consumer..even Fry's Electronics and Micro center don't even carry IPS monitors, except for the Apple monitor

  • @WestCoastMods It's the same here in the UK. The only IPS displays I see being sold anywhere are Apple ones, which are great (I'm a huge Apple/Mac fan lol), but their current Cinema Display is nothing compared to their older models. I need matte displays and 10+bit colour panels, and right now, Dell are the best for such displays unless you go for the super high end NEC stuff. I just wish you could find GOOD displays on the high street, and 16:10, not this 16:9 bullshit we see now.

  • I'm had to come back to look again :p I'm thinking about buying a Dell U2711 for photo editing and gaming on my new rig (A sandy bridge not yet built). I had to make sure I was getting the right technology in the monitor. Thanks again for posting bro.

  • @honitsten Great monitor choice...I've also been debating on the U3011, but it's been hard as I already have a HP3065 30". let me know if tou get the U2711 and what you think.

    Thanks bro

    LazyMan

  • gd video but its too hard to tell any 'real' differences between the panel technologies with those small picture comparisons at the end.

  • @davef89 Thanks bro, yeah, it really depends on the size and quality of the monitor you are viewing it on. At full screen, in 1080HD on a 24" or larger you shouldn't have no problem seeing the difference. However, it still depends on the quality of screen one is viewing it on.

  • @WestCoastMods hey, I wonder if you can help me out seeing as you know you're tech. Im currently interested in buying a 24" monitor for gaming on my 360. Is high end IPS the way to go (like a Dell U2410), or would you suggest I get something like a 120Htz TN panel? I currently use a Samsung 32" HDTV for both computer monitor and Xbox (I play Cod on it mainly). Thanks

  • @davef89 If it's just for gaming I would probably stick with the TN panel....however if you use it for anything else...photo editing, video editing, cad, 3D rendering, ect then I would go with the IPS

  • Thanks for making the video. It is the most educational one for me in helping me choose the right panel. IPS is it.

  • @tanikleo No problem bro, glad it helped

  • @WestCoastMods

I actually went out to buy it today and it's great. The Dell IPS screen rocks.

Your video helped me decide. I also loved the stand that came with it. It was rock steady compared to others.

The still shots of the video was the best. It's true that I could not tell a difference when I was looking at those screens in the store.

    Thanks a million.

  • @tanikleo Glad you are are happy..yeah, when you compare the overall build quality to a TN panel there is no comparison....also it has much more connectivity.

  • I really enjoy the viewing angle demonstration, I mean just yesterday I wanted to play a game while standing on my desk looking down at the monitor, but the color was so innaccurate. Also, on the "image comparison" funny how the 16x9 and 16x10 monitors are ouputting the same size image. Again, calibrate and redo the test.

  • @nabokovfan87 Standing on your desk to play a game...LOL...now thats a true gamer! Yeah, it is almost impossible to see the difference between a image on a 16X9 vs a 16X10 monitor.

  • The samsung has led backlight bleed and the color is set to cool (blue haze over picture). IF you are this serious about color accuracy and picture quality it would be best to calibrate the displays and learn what that entails before judging IPS vs. TN.

  • @nabokovfan87 I use a DataColor Spyder Pro to calibrate my monitors, however I feel it would have been pointless to calibrate the monitors prior to testing as not to many ppl (gamers) are going to spend another $300 to buy a color calibrator. I wanted to show the difference between the monitor just by adjusting the settings in the OSD

  • @WestCoastMods I along with just about anyone who has heard the word calibrate doesn't mean go out and buy or pay someone upwards of 300 dollars to buy a colorimeter or something to measure the levels. You can just as easy go to google and look for hdtv or lcd calibration slides and get a more accurate picture. As I saw, the image is CLEARLY off on the TN panels, and you were specifically basing which is better on color accuracy, the test is unfair.

  • @nabokovfan87 You will never achieve the same color accuracy by using a Goggled chart vs a quality colorimeter....But I am not here to argue...if you feel my comparison was swayed or bias you are more than welcome to test them yourself. FYI...I returned the TN panel once the testing was done......Here is a simple test for you...just Google IPS panel color vs TN panel color and will find that my comparison wasn't as swayed as you think.

  • hi nice rewie i have i question how big difference does it make from 97% to 110% color gamut

  • @gusilago I would suggest to Google it as you will find a much more in-depth answer than I can give.

  • dell and eizo makes profissional awesome monitors..

but eizo is much more expensive.

  • @erickrister Eizo monitors are apparently top notch, used mainly by professionals...would love to own one or 2 or 3...lol, but like you said they are very expensive. Dell is more a budget monitors when it comes to high-end monitors.

  • I am thinking about getting this monitor when I get my new PC. The only thing I am worried about is ghosting, Some reviews say it does and some say it doesnt. Do you have any experience with ghosting on the U2410.

  • @MiloDerciusI am not much of a gamer, but the times I do play I have not noticed any.

  • lol, you said try to adjust the settings in the LSD

  • @MiloDercius LSD.... OSD I meant I was on LSD while adjusting the OSD...LOL

  • Asus has just released a IPS LED monitor at only $229CAD.. I'm amazed at how cheap it is..

  • @appleloveTK Yeah, thats great...but Asus makes crappy monitors...just go read the forums about this monitor. But for the price, I guess if someone doesn't care about it's overall quality and it's lack of connectivity...then it might work. A high-end IPS-LED can run as much as 2k for a 24"....just go look at NEC

  • That intro scared the fuck out of me. I will never leave my headphones on so loud anymore.

  • @Maxero5 LOL sorry bro...

  • I can see so much differents I guess I have my LCD moinitor set up very well because the IPS monitor looks very good for me.

  • @Bob8673 Cool, glad you could see the difference...are you using a IPS panel?

  • @WestCoastMods No Like I said my old LCD TV/Monitor

  • @Bob8673 Cool, just imagine what it would like on a new IPS panel.....

  • Plz help what monitor can i buy for gaming ??? I want a big one !

  • My eyes only deserve the best :-) Thanks for the video!

  • I seriously can't tell the differences when comparing the images of those three monitors.

    Guess it's because I don't have a Dell U2410.

  • @Jonathanyt It's probably because of the monitor your viewing it on.......don't really needs U2410 as you are the first to say that they can't see a difference....out of 446 comments. You may want to consider a newer montitor because there was an obvious difference between each photo.

  • i got the st2420l on sale yesterday for $160, and although the u2410 did outperform it on some levels, the preliminary comparisons were pretty similar and I couldn't imagine paying $540 more

  • @MykesterMachinima Sounds good...but I highly doubt the build quality, connectivity and adjustments are the same. I had tried the new LEd backlight monitor as you may have seen in this video and I was so disappointed with the overall quality I had to return it. As a video/photo enthusiast color is pretty important to me and I found that the LED monitors are way to saturated. If they every improve on the build quality and connectivity I may look at them again, they do this to keep the price low.

  • do you have a link to that wallpaper? it is awesome

  • @MykesterMachinima Just Google Oscar fish wallpaper....I edited the color in Photoshop though.
