  • When there explaining the manufacturing process the music is the same as the intro music on a lot of the nutnfancy videos

  • les im excited for my model 553 griptilian tanto

  • Dear benchmade why did you discontinue the benchmade 42? It was well respected in the flipping community and also it was the standard for excellence. Please put it back in production, plus it got some popularity because of some movie i think. By the way i need to buy a spare benchmade 42

  • If u want a blade that can maintain it's edge well. Get a blade with d2 steel, it's more brittle but holds a better edge

  • Wait. What does the fact that the pacific nothwest is home of one of the best outdoor sporting options have to do with making knifes ? Do they get any sharper that way or....

  • i heard benchmade resharpening sucks very bad. is this true?

  • They will not resharpen serrations. But on Plain edges or the plain edge part of a combo blade, they are fantastic. In addition to sharpening they clean the knife, replace any warn hardware, all at no charge.

  • good video!

  • I think I hear the music that nutnfancy uses in his vids.

  • Spyderco makes some good knives but they are crude compared to a Benchmade. QC on the Spyderco knives is hit or miss. I guess that's what happens when you farm out all your manufacturing to Japan, Taiwan, and China.

  • I kinda agree.

I own several BMs and Spideys.

Spideys are high quality, more expendable, utility knives

I won't be happy to break or lose ONE of my benchmades.

BMs are finer knives, without a doubt.

  • I disagree, I own both spyderco and benchmade, And as far as i can see, overall build quality and blade sharpness is indestiguishable. I must admit however that the axis mechanism is my favourite. To say Spyderco is 'crude' is just plain 'fanboy', lol.

  • You sound like one of Sal's cultist worshipers from the Spyderco forum.

I'm surprised you didn't give us a lecture about "honor" and "ethics", fanboy. lol

  • @NAPALMJUNKY

Then you're not looking close enough. Spyderco is great, don't get me wrong, but Benchmade is on

a higher level. You're not just paying more for the name.

  • LOL dude all the red class benchmades are farmed out to china and taiwan as well. Blue class are nice blades though!

  • Yes, I'm aware that most Red Class Benchmades are. That's a handful of different models you're talking about compared to the large number of their US made knives.

There are some exceptions to that, though. The Aphid is a Red Class knife and it's US made.

  • I LOVE BENCHMADE KNIVES

  • Thanks for all your comments.

  • bench made makes great blades. there the cadalac of knifes

  • Hehe i just got me first benchmade this month! A brand new ,2003 707 Sequel with a black blade plain edge... The axis lock is unbelivable.. Its as fast as a switchblade and can close in a spit second.. love em.. And kershaw, love kershaw too!

  • Not the best company but you would expect an add to claim that they are. Not nearly as bad and overrated as cold steel's adds and claims.

I prefer them over spydeco but the quality is the same, I just like how they look better. Oh and as its been said you gotta love that axis lock.

  • no, not the greatest knife company...pretty good, but they can't compete with CRK

  • what about coldsteel.

  • cold steel is horrible

  • Aint chris reeves custom work, big difference..

  • semi custom-benchmade is the best knife company as in quality and they have a knife for any situation and any bank account-i just don't think any knife company is "the best"

  • I personally like the Spyderco designs slightly more but Benchmade is a very close second. Gotta love that axis lock.

  • syderco has better publicity, especialy on forums, from what i've heard. let's say it's about one's taste; i prefer now the fast opening and smoothness of benchmade, but I wouldn't give up my spyderco's.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks for the link Charles!
