I've been searching for something like the Khan Academy for a couple years. I finally found it and now i've put away my xbox and am learning new things with my free time. This website really seems like a stepping stone for a great achievement and step forward in humanity. Hopefully there will be something similar for learning foreign languages.

My 14 year old son just finished middle school and got the "#1 math student trophy and award" directly attributable to Khan Academy.

I worked for 2 years in getting my school district interested and heard nothing. Yesterday, the person I was told to coordinate with told me that it is part of the high-tech curriculum (we have a very high-tech, award winning superintendent). This was good to hear BUT he also said that he has his own 3 children studying on this incredible site. That made my day!

This is like when old companies used to better a town wit hthe profits, better the workers lives by building sports arenas or libraries etc. Good stuff, the way it should be, and it's good if people are ready to offer up money to companies doing using their profits for the betternment of society.
