  • American Horror Story-3

  • When ever I hear this I picture the Harmons all standing together after chasing away the new family, looking out the window, remember that part? XD

  • american horror history its very good

  • This song was also used in another creepy (but great) movie with Nicole Kidman, called BIRTH. It starts up the ending credits, and it's placement within the story timeline and juxtaposition with the other music in the score serves up a freaky finale. Watch the movie if you can find it. By the way, Patience and Prudence are distant cousins of mine, so I'm glad to hear the song getting attention from Hollywood.

  • It's beautiful and spooky at the same time

I guess it's spooky cause of American horror story .... But amazing in general :D

  • Hope that this music will be in season 2 of AHS....

  • American Horror Story!!

  • I've always loved this song, but American Horror Story ruined it for me. I absolutely love the show but now all I can picture are the gored up twins. >.<

  • This song... Is... Just... Mind-blowing. There's something sinister and plasticised about the voices, the singing sounds so fake (metaphorically). Like they're pretending to be something they're not. There's something about the American 50s era that captivates me; everything was "happy", but everyone knew it wasn't. This song mirrors perfectly that feeling, of superficial happiness but a sinister tale underneath. It's perfect for American Horror Story.

  • creepy

  • Great with American horror story

  • Well now it was in the pilot for American Horror Story. It fit in well with it!

  • But BANGED IT OUTRIGHT IN THE MOVIE "BIRTH"

    Beyond worth checking out! b

  • This is great for horror films, and the show American Horror Story has done it justice.

  • SO creepy

  • It amazes me how anyone can honestly think that the sound quality of vinyl record is better than the sound of a digital recording on CD or MP3. Just listen to all that noise! The version I have on CD is far superior.

  • @mrderekevan It's just different.

  • @mrderekevan it sounds waay better this way, like it was from a really long time ago.

  • great song and an even greater turntable, thanks for posting the warped 78, sounded awesome!

  • Birth

  • This song would be perfect in a Carl Reiner film, preferably starring Steve Martin.

  • wowowwwwwwwwwww ! i have been looking this song for almost 2 years and i have finaly found itttt !!!

    victory !! :D

  • Back in 1957, I had this song on a 78 rpm disc and the newer 45 rpm record. Pretty soon, they stopped making the big, heavy 78's and 45's ruled! I had a turntable that played "45's" only. The amp was our kitchen radio. Then, later albums on 33 rpm came out. For $1 extra, you could get the record in sterophonic! I loved this song way back then. Yes, Billy, the "good old days" really were good. A hell of a lot better than today!

  • I'll take this anytime over the lame-o "song" they call Whip My Hair. Seriously, who the devil has an alleged song emphasizing...their hair?

  • It's that song from THE JERK with Steve Martin. Cool.

  • In 1956 The McIntyre Sisters were only eleven and fourteen when they had this hit record, there was another to follow. It was a time in the world of early rock & roll music when this could happen. I remember it well. Ron--Highway Stars Magazine

  • @rvictor64 there are loads of pre-teen pop stars around now , not as good as this but its not unheard of.

  • @killercrabman Ok. What's your point? Can you name these pre-teen stars 11 years old or younger that had two million selling hits like the McIntyre sister's did. I can't! Ron

  • @rvictor64 my point is you seem to think these people are from a golden age of the human...how about mozart he was around hundreds of years b4 these chicks and 100 times more talented... people are the same as they ever have been, good, bad, old or young. it was a pointless statement just as this reply is.. bullybeef for tea mother!

  • @killercrabman : You picked a bad comparison! Mozart was a male symphony composer and there is no indication that he sang and certainly didn't sell two million records by the age of 11. As far as people not being any different now then they were throughout history, you are certainly a poor example of today's generation with your final phrase of "bullybeef for tea mother" which must be some secret idiot slogan. You did not learn that in the Military or in any respectful environment.

  • VERY NICE TUNE FROM MY PAST.

  • I remember hearing this when I was 13. I've got it on a Liberty label 78,

what makes this work is the solid rhythm section. Obviously professsional

    in that respect.

  • what a time capsule! Thanks, early teens -- so innocent!

  • This rendition is absolutely CUTE!

  • findet nemo rocks:D

  • This song would be perfect in a Quentin Tarantino film.

  • @ConnDevi88 Tarantino stated that he won't use a song that is already closely associated with another film - although he did take that Bernard Herrman whistling tune.

  • @ConnDevi88 Although I first heard it because of John Waters.

  • @ConnDevi88 Was in Steve Martins ' The jerk ' movie

  • you know for a 19 year old i love this song

  • Watching that 78 spin brings back childhood memories. I can still hear needles scratching them, and fixing skips on my 45's.

  • Great classic... Thanks for posting...

  • i got it frm the ebay commercial :)

i think anyone in germany knows the song by this commercial but i like this song very well :)

I was too when I was sixteen, ha, aja

  • I heard it on the Jerk and I love it.

    I'm 13 :P

  • Yeh, we saw The Jerk on TV last night for the first time. Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters sing it so well on the beach with a ukelele. Loved it!

  • The trumpet made it happen aswell.

  • This is where I discovered the song too - lovely. thx

  • A VERY NICE SONG!I LOVE IT!

  • So darn cute! I totally forgot about them. Saw a commercial last night that featured it so I ran to youtube.

THANKS to the person who posted this.

I was so little when it came out but I still remember the words!!!

  • Wow, this goes back to practically the start of rock'n roll. When I was a kid, I actually heard a version from Alvin and The Chipmunks.

  • same i have the Cd pretty old damn that was in 1999 or maybe 2000 don't know

  • Though this song was not actually rock'n roll. It's more of a jazz tune that came out when jazz was coming to an an end as popular music, replaced by rock'n roll.

  • The Jerk did this song justice.

    heheheh

  • My new favourite song!

  • this song is somehow heartbreaking.

  • I didn't hear this song until the mid 1970's. The first time I heard it, I thought it was Leslie Gore, LOL!!!!!!

  • this is an awesome post!!! WoW!!

  • I agree, in the past I've heard some ruff versions.

    5*****.

    Thank you.

  • Oh....I wish I would have thought of your user name. kittielips...I love that. : )

  • Thank you!!

  • i love this song but cant help feelin that it belongs in a Bette Davis horror film. its cute and creepy and everything else in between.

  • One of my favorite songs in the world, and I love it best by Patience and Prudence. How lovely!

  • There were many videos with people singing this song.....

but this is the only one that made me smile the whole way through!

    Thanks for posting....

  • Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters didn't do it for you?!!
