It's called "Wait For Me" from the album with the same name. The song is written by Felix Reyes (She says so at the end). If you like this song, you might like Ray Charles' "Drown In My Own Tears". 95% of the chord changes are the same.
This girl is most likely the best female vocalists I have heard in a long long time. I would love to see her get together with John Mayer as they sing with the same passion for the music. Maybe some one of the music execs is reading this and realizes how well these two would sound together.
To me she has the greatest discrepancy between her speaking and singing voice of any singer I can think of. I mean she sounds nothing like she sings when she talks..lol.
@ilovemyipodnanoyesh Yeeesh; how can you hate a Tele? Contrary to popular belief, they can do a lot more than twang ( although twang is their undisputed niche), many ( mine included) can do really well on blues
....dirty or clean. Of course, there are only lilke a thousand variants of Teles......but no need to hate on 'em!
@rocknut75 If you really want to see a Tele rock hard, check out Johnny Hiland playing with Sammy Hagar. He makes a Tele scream! Shows you don't need EVH or his Frankenstein to hit it hard! Tele's rock as well as swing and country and blues!
She is amazing! She is a great Blues singer and getting bluesier and better all the time but.......Janiva Magness is a great female Blues singer also. Check her videos out and be happy that we have these two beautiful women singing the music of the soul that we so love.
what a pumpkin! Man she is so sexy! When it comes to the blues...I think this girl here defines the word and the feeling all in one........ Go on girl! MMMMMMMMmmmmm good!
if i could find a chick singer like this, i would'nt have to drive a bus no more,unless there's a job for a bass player/ bus driver..lol she's got soul !
I saw her this year at the Montreal Jazz fest opening for Buddy Guy. Shivers and goosebumps for the entire show! What a voice! And as a bonus Derek was playing with the band as well.
ha im a 15 year old kid and i listen to this kind of music also indie stuff. nobody my age knows these great ppl. its really sad...like grace potter or norah jones? nobody has a clue. theyre great!
atta girl , good 4 u! be yoursefl music is the most persona thing, dont eva let anyone change your love 4 music that touches your soul, it will be a joy that will last a lifetime!
Im seeing her in august. Im way excited. Quick question to anyone who has seen Susan a view times, What is the probability of Derek Showing up? I saw derek with the Allman Brothers. Im taking my friend to see susan for his birthday. And i know that he'd love to see derek, not to mention i'd love to see them together aswell! If anyone knows please reply.
I would say it nicer but I agree, why not leave the lead guitar to someone who can really pull off a slow blues solo. God knows lead guitar players are a dime a million. She rocks as a singer though.
Mrs. Trucks is so totally awesome...I especially love it when she performs with her husband as they compliment each other like.......all of us hope God would do for each of us
wow... shes really good i cant believe i havent heard her before! amazing voice, i love when she does the joplin growl at the top of her register, yet she has such a pure and powerful soul voice. and beautiful too. she has one more fan :-)
How magical it must have been to be there in the front row! I love watching this woman perform more than almost anything, but I haven't been able to see her in person (yet). Kinda funny after singing in such a soulful voice she comes on the mic saying 'Thank You' and it sounds almost like a college girl :)
That's pretty funny. I listened to the very end and you're right! Her very soulful voice is transformed into this different innocent "thank you" voice. Very funny! But I LOVE Susan's music. I could listen to her all day long. Great stuff.
I don't "think" I'm falling in love with Ms. T...I've been in love with her soulful music for YEARS now. Truly a goddess of heart and deep soul..not to mention, she makes love to an electric guitar like no other woman on this planet! Humble request, if y'all (anyone) get a chance, please post a CLEAN CUT version video of one my faves of hers..."Follow". Thanks much! ;)
this is good but i REALLY wanna find a youtube clip of her doing "Dont Think Twice" at this show, can't find it tho...its an amazing version of the classic Dylan song!
Why do you all have to compare? Is she as good as Bonnie? Look, Bonnie's great. Susan's great. That should be enough. They have different styles. Enjoy them both.
To theriffer- Derek's HOT too, but faithful, I bet. Maybe the time away from each other on the road might keep their marriage really fresh, as it seems they got time away enough just to keep things interesting. If they ever part & he still likes older women, I'll be waiting-- that is if John Frusciante isn't there first! Oh, to dream about impossible things! Look for streaming video from the i-net archive from their Soul Stew Revival 2007 in The Tent at Bonaroo!

She came out onstage looking all quiet and demure, sky blue sun dress and said hi in her small talking voice, hit the guitar and open her mouth and just wailed!! Blew me away! Dr.John came out onstage next and he just said that's the last time I ever follow that young lady!! She dang near stole the show!! Love you Susan!
Ahhhhh... REAL music! It reassures me that we're not going crazy. I was starting to think that music was dead upon hearing "Crank That" by Soulja Boy or whatever the heck it's called.
