at 1:26 is that in illinois? i remember seeing it when i went down to Texas this summer? and is that bridge the one going over the missippi? im asking because i have the same looking pictures on my phone
Yes that is the one in Illinois. :) Not sure about the bridge, but there is a good chance of that. I would have to have him watch the video and see if he can figure it out. :)
i myself drive a semi i love every min of it but the part i hate the most is leaving my family behind not ever knowing if i will return home !!! I have missed out so much on my 2 yr old sons life and now i have a 4 mth old daughter i have concidered quiting my driven carrer for my family but times are hard and im willing to sacrafice that for them to have a better life !! I loved this vid and song keep up the good work !!! and be safe drivers we will catch you on the flip and god bless
I quit my job as a truck driver 5 yrs ago 3 weeks after I heard this song after leaving the house to be gone for 7 or 8 days . I pulled off the road and cried like a Baby . This song was confirmation for me. Keep up the good work guys.
i just love that song,i was working in the oil sand in northern alberta and my son was 3 he was always crying when i leave for work.i hade to leave him 3 weeks at the time.hear that on radio and made me almost cry, just thinking of my little man.
I'm a former driver. Heard this song on the road I-95 north bound in Georgia a couple years ago and it made me cry. This is a great song and really hit to close to home. I now dispatch the very guys I used to run with knowing these things gives you a different mind set toward these guys that keep AMERICA going. God Bless all you drivers out there.
This is also a good tell for men working offshore on boats or in the oilfield. gone for a month at a time.Capt. Dave knows what this has cost him.Good luck brother.
The cross is the one in Effingham. My honey took the pic himself. He never did deliveries in TX so it could not be the one there. :) Hope that explains it. :)
Thank you for all of the comments. :) After taking the summer off due to an injury then going back and then his company going bankrupt, Jeff went back to OTR yesterday with a new company. So far we are all adjusting, but it is hard on him and the kids. I just don't think about it. I have to admit we miss him horribly and at nights you can find me crying after the kids are asleep.
May God Bless All of Our Drivers and keep them safe!!!
As A driver myself I can relate. My father and grandfather were both drivers. My children use to ask when you comin home. Id tell them whenever the road brings me this way.
Its not only hard on the kids but just as hard on the drivers who have family.
Just remeber that those miles that he/she is pushing is for not him but for the family he has. I love my family and thats why Ive been a driver for more than 22 years.
There's another cross that is very similar to that one, and it's located on a hill just East of Ballinger, Texas. You can see it for miles during the day, and it is lit at night. Truly awesome!
If I'm not mistaken that is the Groom Tx Cross...Been a few years since I passed down that way but it sure looks like it. and the flat surface looks like TX.
Is that the cross in effinham . Did look like the one there . Ther eis one in texas also just like it . I am fromm mattoon where was you taking stuff ?
yeah this is a great song because my dad would always say that he was leavin to make a dollar and one time a gave him a dollar just so he could stay home and play with me but that was years ago he dont stay gone as long but hes still gone more than hes home i used to leave goin with him since hes an o/o but now i find myself falling into this trap
this is a cute sing, and i know how you and your son feel. my dad is an otr truck driver and even though i'm used to him not being home and coming to my games it's still hard to see him leave and go to work
@tmerr1 i pass that cross all the time going to cardinal games haha.
