  • what does the adapter has as ground glass? Is it a Canon EE-A?

  • @nelaqua Canon EE-S usually but some people like the EE-A better. There is only a slight difference between them that most people dont notice.

  • Is there any test done with the Canon Vixia HG21?

  • @ColombianForLife Yes there are plenty of videos with the HG21 and the EnCinema 35mm DOF adapter. Infact the HG21 has given us some of the very best results since it's such a great camera!

Youtube wont allow us to link in these messagess due to spammers but search for a video by James Featherstone called "LIERS". It was shot with the HG21. Thanks for your interest!

  • dos this gives you 16x9 image? does it work with panasonic dvx 100b? can i adapt it directly to the camera or do i have to buy another adaptor

  • working with the gz-hd7? anyone?

  • Yes, look for a video here on youtube called "flame untouched: by bryce0225 . It shows the JVC HD7 with the EnCinema 35 using a macro close up filter / diopter with great results!

  • is this adapter compatible with GL2 or the HDR-FX7?

  • does this work with sony HVR-1000U?

  • Yes, it works great with the Sony 1000U. Thanks for your interest!

  • and wich lens would work well with it? for example 1.4 1.8 f1.4 f1.8 ?

  • We only recommend fast lenses (f1.4, f1.8, f2.0, f2.8). Anything slower like a 3.5 or 4 and above and you can mainly only shoot outdoors in bright daylight. The image is darker with slower lenses but some people think this has a really cool look to their videos.

  • does it work with the canon vixia hg20

  • Yes, it works great with the HG20...the HG20 has given some of the very best results with the EnCinema 35 DOF adapter! Thanks for your interest!

  • I <3 35mm Adapter montages

  • Hey nice work.

    Song name?

  • Nice images, well done! I am just not sure if it's the adapter/lens but the vignetting and chromatic aberration is all over the material. I would guess is the adapter based on the static (none spinning) GG.

  • hey, did you shoot the hippos from Uganda? looks like i know that place plus i saw a bottle of beer branded Nile which is actually made in Uganda....

  • We didnt shoot any of these...this was all shot by customers who use our adapters and send us clips. But, Yes I think that customer did go to Uganda. It looks like a lovely place!!!

  • Was this originally shot in HD by the way?

  • Yes, it was all shot in HD, but some of the files were transferred to us in SD lo-res.

  • i am gonna purcahse is pretty soon. well ihave one more question ,its a different topic. when i export my clips from my sony hdr xr100 to after effects, it shows that the frame rate is 25fps. does this camera really has that frame rate or something wrong with my setting. also if i want o make my clip look film like, is 25 fps quite ok or 24p is a must to get that look. thank you

  • Yes, your camera must be for PAL system and that has a 25fps rate. But its close enought to look like 24fps or the standard film rate. I shoot all in 30P fps. I think its good for slowing down a bit later for a more dramatic look, escpecially when shooting with our adapter.

  • ok finally one last question. when i buy the adapter, i would have to get a camera lens to control the focus right. i already have a nikon dslr camera with lens, zoom controls. so that lens would be attached to the adapter right.???thank dude for your assistance

  • Yes, you would simply purchase the EnCinema Adapter with the Nikon converter option and you're all set.

  • Great! Looking forward to buy this!

What was the name of this song by the way?

  • Thanks the music Flanders - Behind

  • hey will this work with my sony HDR XR 100..???

  • Yes, according to the specs of the HDR XR100, it will work just fine! Thanks!

  • and since hdr100 has focus control on touchscree, does it mean that i have to control the DOF by it or i can by adapter u provide. also could you tell me that are there any other equipments i need to attach the adapter on my cam.?

  • you will control the focus via the photographic lens. and the adapter will simply screw right on to the front of your camera..no additional parts are needed.

  • OMG...so..much..abberation

  • would have been cool if you saved to HD... :(

can you reupload this with it saved as a 1280x720 (any format) video? mostly mpeg4 or wmv?

  • I have JVC GZ-HV30 but I feel that it just isn't very good. I don't know. Will it work with this adapter?

  • HI i have a canon MD205 and im pretty sure that i cant put a 35mm adapter on it so what can i do to achieve that effect?

  • Thanks for your interest but it doesnt seem that the MD205 has any filter threads for the adapter to screw onto. It can only work if the adapter is held by hand in front of the camera which can be very difficult to operate.

  • cool video...hey how much does the canon hv20 cost

  • An HV20 should ony run about $450 to $550 now that the HV30s and HV40s are out.

  • this might be a dumb question but where can u get any of the hv's...like can u get it at a store or only online

  • Sorry it doesnt work with the XHA1 yet...we are working on a pro model version for larger cameras like this. Thanks for your interest!

  • will this work with sony fx 7 please

  • sorry that lens is too big and cant macro focus on the glass within the adapter. Our pro version should be ready soon and it should work just fine. Thanks!

  • I can't seem to message you here on youtube, could you email me or message me back about this? Thanks!

  • Yes, no problem.

  • great vid,, awesome work..

the adapter looks the goods, do you happen to know what they are like with a fisheye?

  • Hmm, not sure, but if its the right mount size then you would just simply mount the fisheye lens on the front of the photographic lens...or use a very wide fisheye photogrphic lens and I'm sure it would look great. I use it with a 17mm and and thats pretty wide!

  • hi i have a canon hv-30 and im looking for a film look what do you recommend

  • I definetly recommend the EnCinema 35 dof adapter ($199) and a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens ($85) With your HV30 it gives some of the best results. The trumpeter on the street footage in this video is shot with the same exact setup using an HV30 as well.

  • What about the Canon HF100?

  • Yes the HF100 was pretty much used on the rest of the video...as well as tons of other clips on our youtube channel. Take a look.

  • its film look but old film look with purple ground glass shading ,nothing special.

  • New film look or old, it still has a film look that video cameras arent capable of acheiving...and its only $199 compared to others that range from $1200 to $4500. That's what makes it special!

  • yes u are right but i am saying about object edges which are all the time blueish or purple in every video and i believe that its not due colour grading or editing its something in ground glass. Can u describe that what is this dark blueish or purple shading all the time in video. I know most of the people would not go with me but i know , u know what i mean. U can explain that to me.

  • the slightly bluish/purple/pink tints seems to appear sometimes with or without a 35mm adapter. I think its a product of Canon cameras really. And only hot lighting conditions.

  • Purple???? Not sure what you mean there.

  • I am looking for a dof but only this is stopping me from purchasing. Though black and white results are exellant.

  • Any tips on removing vignetting? I just bought the adapter and I'm having some issues..

  • to reduce vignetting on all 35mm adapters:

Try zooming in slightly just a bit past some of dark edges.

    Use fast speed lenses f1.2, f1.4, f1.8, f2.0 and f2.8

In post editing use gradual light boost on the left and right side of video.

  • Very nice video!

  • Thank you! The song is called "Behind" by Flanders.
