  • Elisia Graves Otis was my grandfather. Sadly none of the Otis' are still involved with the company. Nice to see some of the original elevators still in operation. Did you know that when they put elevators inside the Eiffel Tower they called upon my grandfather to design, build and install them? He must have been quite the engineer of his day.

  • Beautiful elevator

  • That's an old elevator.

  • Nice slide:)

  • Looks like it's all original - major plus!!!

  • I've walked by this place SO MANY TIMES but it's always locked.

  • Very nice elevators!

  • Classic OTIS door operation, with the outer door closing first. Clunk, thud.

  • The bell thats at the 3rd floor that bell sound like a Westinghouse bell form 1950's

  • What is the buzzing sound? You said it was the ballast, but what is that?

  • The ballast drives the fluorescent tube lights. Once they get some age on them they start to hum or buzz (depending on however many lamps they are driving). The ones at my work just get hot and fail.

  • Thanks! Good info.

  • @ScottieNiven The ballast is for the lights.
