Great vid! but i have the fealing it was played in fast motion. still cool! I wish there was enough funding around to get all the girls on banked tracks.
I have been to see bouts live, which is the only way to go. Haven't been to a banked track bout since I was a kid, but there are alot of flat track leagues all around the country. Go and see for yourself, roller derby is awesome.
I'm trying to find the connection between roller derby and Wal-Mart.....Anyone else? They must breed retards out there in the sticks. Did your cousins mate? It's just a question.
Get a freakin' clue. Derby is older then alot of other womens sports. Roller girls take the sport seriously. Yeah it's a spectacle, but that's the charm and draw. Unlike wrestling these chicks really get hurt.
Wait, was this a response to MY post? If so, I AM on a roller derby team. I was making fun of the backwards billy down there who was knocking the sport. Now that I read it again, I don't think its a response to what I wrote. No. No one can be dumb enough to think that I was putting derby down from what I wrote. Can they?
You guys still do penatly wheels? They tend to disrupt the flow of the bout and sometimes make penalties advantageous to the fouler's team. Wish one league or the other would choose a less confusing acronym.
What great memories, The roller Derby will always hold a very special memory for me,I remember Ronnie Robinson,Jonie Weston, And so many more as my parents would drive me to Memphis to watch the Roller Derby.
Buddy, there's at least a hundred derby leagues nationwide. Far fewer banked leagues (like TXRD above), but you shouldn't have any difficulties finding a roller derby league in your area.
it was a beautifully shot show, and the Lonestar Girls are the best in the nation, but they really sucked the life out of roller derby...more reality, more action!
Want proof that the big wigs at A&E are dumbasses? They had all these girls on a killer show and didn't renew it for another year. That's a move they will regret, for once A&E was ahead of the pack but they decided to drop out of the race.
well not so much....the show failed to deliver on many accounts, for one, not enuff of the game, for another, a kinda reality show stink, and mainly, not a very effective way of portraying the true drama and awsomeness of the game.

I asked her once why that was her name and she replied:
