do you think any hi hat controller/trigger would work likewise on the dd65? I can find the kp65 bass drum trigger but having trouble finding the yamaha hi hat controller, now that yamaha has bloody discontinued the dk65 expansion kit ...
awesome dude! very creative! hey, what do you think about the yamaha dd65?? is it confortable to play? im an intermediate-level drummer and wanted to buy this to practice a lot more than a I actually do with my acoustic set because i live in a flat. can it be used for serious drumming (practice) or is it just for fooling around? thanks very much!
@rodrig0sur I had to add a proper bass drum pedal and hi hat controller. Once I did that, I found it very usable for practice. It actually makes me a lot more accurate.
@moneymoney220666 There isn't much technique displayed in this video, but in general playing on smaller pads forces me to be much more accurate then i have was on an acoustic set. When i Play on a normal set of drums at shows I feel like my playing style has improved x10.
@redbull90 Don't smoke, I was actually drinking while setting up this test by the time I got it working I was 8 beers into a 12 pack. But it was just a practical test not a show of skill so I went ahead and posted it. For better not drunk drumming take a look at my band practice video I posted on Monday.
I have a Guitar Hero World Tour drumset, and if I buy DD65, can I plug the GH World Tour bass pedal to the DD65? Because thos little pedals might be difficult to use.
In this video i've got a Yamaha bass drum trigger but just about any bass drum trigger will work with the dd65 just search ebay for bass drum trigger and you should be able to find one that will work for you.
Thanks, I just put a bid for one on ebay, but I doubt I will win it. I will look into making some home-made version using the existing bass pad with a bass pedal.
Class act! :) I plug my dd65 into a Roland R8m

Thanks for your quick answer to my last question. Do you know if would it work with the drum brain Alesis D4 or D5?
Thank you, again.
viniciocoelho 10 months ago
@viniciocoelho I've used it with the D4 and it worked. I had to mess around with a few midi settings but it wasn't to big of a deal.

Cool, what kind of bass pedal do you have with your dd65? I have those little pads that are quite difficult to use.

Wow! xD
Great discovery~
though i've got quesitons to ask about how made it work..;]
1.) What things did you get in order for this to work?
2.) Where did you connect it? (Like, which is which?)
Again, great discovery! I'm actually considering to do this too so..please help me..xD

I used midi to link my dd65 to my TD-8. I plugged my high hat pedal directly into the TD-8, and my bass drum pedal into the dd65.
Hope that helps.
onelonedork 2 years ago
Ohh...by MIDI, you mean that MIDI chord right..;]?
Wow...i c, i c...hmm..you separated both the pedals on where they can be connected?
It did help..xD
Thank you!
Great discovery again btw...!
