You all might like the movies Chrystal w/ Billy Bob Thorton and Lightning Bug! At least check out the trailers.,,,homespun stories like this ,... I am going to find this book! Goodnight Brothers!
Holy shit is there any better than Christopher Walken? The look in his eye from time to time leaves you unable to look away-you FEEL what he wants you to. THAT'S acting! Sean Penn is always the same 'kinda-tough' character in everything he does, but CW has range!
I had to buy this movie after I read the true story of it. Compelling! If you listen to the Interlude song of Live to tell at 10:16 when Sean Penn turns on the water hose and you think about the scenes of this movie, it will trip you out. This movie by far is one of the best to me...Christoper Walken is the scariest dude on the planet! He played to role!

@2004dale watch the movie its based on a true stoey and you will be blown away on how well and underated it is! Still today its my favorite movie! Bridget.
@Mira4ever The father was setting all the brothers and girlfriend up to all get killed. So they couldnt tell the law on him even though his sons was part of the project of stealing farm tractors and more... the boy lived an went after his father because he knew it was his father an what he was up too. He held his father until the law came and he testified in court against his father for killimg his brothers an girlfriend.
lol when I first saw the Chevelle I remember thinking, "THAT'S not a piece of SHIIIiiiiit......" and now that I've seen it break down, I finally realized, "yes it was... :("
@TheIntruders Ok. But the engine on the car was clearly bad, otherwise they would have been able to leave. This is probably due to him not driving around very much with it; as evidenced by the fact you don't see him in it very much. The engine was crap = the car was crap. Also; if it was a good engine then the dad probably wouldn't have given it to him.
Are you a girl? Unrestored late-60's or early -70's muscle cars that requires routine maintenance (i.e. loose fanbelt, clogged carb, stuck valve) to stay running have never been considered "pieces of shit" except by someone who had little to no mechanical aptitude (i.e. girls). That Chevelle SS was worth about $2k in 1978 (when the story took place), about $5k in 1986 (when the film was made) and would be worth $18-20k today - and $50-75k if it was restored.
@TheIntruders No, but I have experience as a mechanic. If a car sits around and you don't drive it it'll break down regardless of maintenance. Cars were meant to be driven, and this one sat around while he was in prison. The car broke down and became a piece of shit.
I loved praying on girls like you. I can't tell you how many times, I relieved some idiot of their classic muscle or sports car only to turn a profit after a few days of work. I would always laugh (under my breath of course) and nod agreeing as they spouted off all the trouble they had with the car. Some of them even believed the car was possessed or didn't like them. This was all evidence of ignorance. These are the same kind of people who project emotions onto their pets.
Is that what you want me to be, sweetie? By the way, if you have experience as a mechanic, why is it you refer to the minor maintenance Brad is performing to get the Chevelle started as a "bad motor". You sound like the wetbacks "mechanics" at Pep Boys.
@TheIntruders Never said anything about a bad motor. Not only are you gay, you're psychotic as well. Glad to see the internet is still working in the Mental Ward of whatever country is ashamed to house you.
dumbasses should have ran away as soon as he got out of jail. so stupid to stop by her place and screw around. he knew the 3 were missing so it's not like he didn't know what the gang was capable of.
This movie ROCKS. PERIOD! I think this is one of Sean Penn's best performances......and Christopher Walken is great in it. I can watch this over and over again......
whoah, never saw the blood on the back of his hair until now at 12:12. Scary.

Especiall because of the ending scene. He used the same emotion in Mystic River in the death of his daughter scene.

It originally had a vinyl roof as evidenced by the chrome trim at the base of the "C" pillar. If it was an LS6, it would be worth over a $100k today.
