Thanks for the reply, Kat! I bet you are closer than my Chaney and I. We are 8 Elite Reg, and 12 Elite Chances away (& 6 Elite Weavers from her VersNATCH). We seem to have trouble completing those Chances courses perfectly!! I envy the distance you guys do and you have beautiful contacts to die for!! :) If you go to Nationals this year, watch for one of my friends there-- Leath McLaughlin and his BCs Blast and Merlin! Good luck with your NATCH!! And, thanks for the info. on your camera!!
Thanks! We're close to a NATCH, but not that close. (Thanks to the year we didn't Q at all because of my knee injury!)
We have a sony handycam video camera. Not sure what model though.... It is a nice camera, but of course any really high speed camera would be a lot nicer. :)
Nice runs!! Dazzle runs like a NADAC dog, doing more USDAA with her will tighten her wide lines which will for sure move you up in placements in Steeplechase! Keep up the jump work, set points and jump grids will really help her out! Way to go!
Amazing runs! Steeplechase sounds really hard but really fun! Way more satisfying if you Q lol. Great work, despite a few bars she did incredible, she can only get better!
It is essentially a race! It is a course comprised of only jumps, weaves, and an A-frame. Rather than having a set standard to compete against, it is head to head competition so you only qualify if your time was better than x percentage of the dogs. It is way more competitive and very fast paced - and very fun!
Daz looks great! Congrets on the Q, she earned it! My dog knocks bars too... Still working on it though, my trick is to make the bars higher, and then lower them so she will still jump a little higher. :o)
Rather than teach Dazzle to only jump a certain height (by just putting the bar higher in practice), I want her to judge each jump individually and jump it appropriately. For example, I don't want her to jump a 12" bar the same way she would jump a 20" bar.
Right now I'm doing a lot of various jumping drills to improve her form over the bar - her problem is that she just jumps very very flat. :)
Thats great. But I only higher it like 1 inch. It works for me, but if she jumps flat then it probly would not help very much. :) She's beautiful by the way!
YAY First to comment! Dazzle did amazing!!! Even with the knocked bars she is still incredible and stunning to watch-- I love the distance work you get from her! ~Lauren

More great runs, Kat!!! How close are you to your NADAC NATCH?
I love the quality of your videos. What kind of camera do you use? I just can't seem to get good quality videos to post on my YouTube.
Best wishes for 2009! You and Dazzle always amaze me!!! :)

So whats the difference between a steeple chase and a normal obstacle course? I was expecting a dog race!

Alright Dazzle! She did an awesome job, Kat. Those start line bars must've been driving you crazy though...is it a collection problem?
