@cjSensation Most iMac G5 machines use a 3.5" Hard drive on their SATA 1.5Gb/s hard drive bus. So a 1.oTB Seagate Barracuda will work in most models. (The exception is the iMac G5 17" model ID: PowerMac8,1 where earlier models of that series used an Ultra ATA/133 system bus requiring a PATA drive.) Any 3.5" SATA 1.5Gb/s or SATA 3Gb/s drive should work just fine as a replacement drive.
will the 2tb hard drives work on the 17 inch imac G5? and i have mac os x panther on my machine will it be compatable? and if i upgrade my hard drive and the ram will it be able to work with mac os x snow leopard?
@pacmon99 Yes, 2.0TB drives will work in the 20" iMac G5, however, the latest operating system you can upgrade to is Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard). Snow Leopard requires an Intel processor based Mac, the G5 is PowerPC based.
torx t10 does not fit, maybe a t8 or t9 will

@CommanderKazZ 2GB installed as two 1GB memory modules is the maximum amount of RAM these machines accept.

@yezzurg0 The PowerPC architecture is very different from the Intel architecture. There isn't a way to swap one out for the other.
