  • It's so nice, can't it be longer Mr Kamen?

  • Finally!! After so long, I found the song!

  • THE WORLD COMPANY !

  • @Mrmontgommeryburns The Flander's Company !

  • waaaaaaall-eeeee

  • The song is called "The Office" and it is from the movie "Brazil" (it is in the video's title and description). What I did not know and was surprised to learn was that it was composed by Michael Kamen! I thought it was some old broadway tune or something, but... wow! Now I know I should pay more attention to Michael Kamen's work! May he rest in peace!

  • @PRIORITY60 Actually, as much as I love this version, I believe Django Reinhardt made it first, look it up; it's called "Brazil". Shocking???

  • @juandeplaza Read the title.

  • Michael Kamen Rest In Piece

  • Ric Burns - New York

  • Such a recognizable theme. Love it.

  • R.I.P., really hoped this was played at your funeral.

  • Reminds me a lot of George Gershwin.

  • @Raidmasterprod How does it sound like Gershwin to you? I love Gershwin's stuff but I'm not seeing a connection. Enlighten me perhaps?

  • @GamingJesters The rising saxaphone at 0:41-0:54 sounds very similar to a portion in Rhapsody in Blue.

  • "We do the work, you do the pleasure !"

  • @ILoveJulienGracq "Pleasureeeee..."

  • le theme d'intro de la flanders company ^^

  • @athomicritics J'ai découvert le film après la série. Kurtzmann a depuis deux fois plus de raisons d'être un type tout simplement génial. :D

  • @athomicritics et celui de la world company!

  • the best movie with the best soundtrack of only one song

  • this song promotes brain activity. this is a fact :)

  • Sorry, but this song is not composed by Mickael Kamen is an arrangement of an existing title. thank you to rectify.

  • *mange un chien*

  • @daftpunk3494 And it's also a theme in the 5th season of the new Doctor Who.

  • damn nature! you scary

  • "HAS ANYBODY SEEN SAM LOWRY?"

  • Don't fight it son. Confess quickly! If you hold out too long you could jeopardize your credit rating.

  • @daftpunk3494 I've been curious about Brazil since I saw that it's the Nostalgia Critic's all-time favourite movie. I just finished watching it and, to be honest, he made a pretty good choice in my opinion. I don't think that I would put it in my No. 1 spot, but it is a great movie; surreal, funny, smart and one-of-a-kind. I've seen quite a few classic movies over the past couple of weeks; Brazil, Cool Hand Luke and another Nostalgia Critic favourite, Citizen Kane. They're all amazing.

  • I love this version! Isn't there any longer one?

  • @MrJIsBack This composition is base a song called "Aquarela do Brasil". not sure what it means but I found various versions of it on YouTube.

  • @iocus43 Means "Watercolor of Brazil".

  • Such a good film, very intelligent and sharp :)

  • like the movie, like the music : )

  • this piece of music is great.

  • I love this. Must it be so short??

  • @xeractus Yes, this piece of song is well known but it appears one little moment at the beginning of the film.

  • @MenwithHill i know, it's so sad.

  • Such a POWERFUL scene and piece of music, thank you Terry Gilliam for your genius!!

  • it's also form "being john malkovich" trailer.

    look it up.

  • I want to talk to you about ducts.

  • W A L L E

  • suspicion breeds confidence

  • the music no is of michael kamen and yes of ary barroso

  • This isn't even Kamen's best sequence in this film. The sonorous strings, and lush harmonies are so beautiful! They should release this sound track...

  • great song buts whats the "AHHHHH" at the end?

  • its the main character's boss, he really says, "Uhh, has anybody seen Sam Lowry."

I'm not sure why the first bit is in there tho.

  • my favorite movie..

  • also for the Wall E teaser trailer where he cleans up earth on his own^^

  • No! This music Written by Ari Barroso, in 1939.

  • @jzaramello This version however, was arranged by Kamen.

  • awsome, I looked up the themes for wall-e and being john malkovich just to see if they were the same :-).

    I <3 brazil!

  • Its bizarre that they used this for not only the Wall-E trailer, but also for that new Eddie Murphy bomb Imagine That...

why the sudden interest in using this piece of music to market kids films?

  • god dammit yes! thank you i have been trying to figure out where else i heard this before

  • They did use it for being john malkovich

  • That's true, actually :)

  • Don't forget the Bee Movie trailer!

  • Awesome!

  • Hip memorable piece of music, the film is also a fantasy besides Sci-fi and comedy don't forgot that.

The movie is a nice cross between "Blade Runner", "Barbarella" and even "Time Bandits". It is part of a fantasy trilogy afterall and who think it inspired the graphic novel "V For Vendetta"?

  • @Johnlindsey289 V for Vendetta and Brazil itself are ispired by George Orwell's book "1984". Matrix too

  • @DeepEye1994

I adored Brazil since i was 14 back in 96 when i saw the trailer to it on the 12 monkeys video and i knew i had to rent it with City of Lost Children, i rented both and had one hell of a double feature. Do you think this movie is the Inception of the 80's? i mean there are similarities between Inception and Brazil big time since Nolan is a fan.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Oh yeah just because in Brazil the main protagonist have dreams and in the end we have that last shock dream-ending it's must be like Inception. Inception it's mainly about dreams, Brazil have much more stuff. AND Brazil is 99.900.000.000.000 times better than Inception.

Brazil is one of those rare PERFECT movies.

  • @DeepEye1994

Except it is not for everyone

  • @Johnlindsey289 Ok seriously, even if Brazil would be rated PG or G what would an under 11 years old kid understand from this movie?

  • Here's looking at you, kid.

  • I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

  • You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

  • I got fired from a theater job and this was playing loudly in the other room with the Wall-E trailer.

  • You got fired in style!

  • @josswhedon692 LOL.

  • Great errangement by Kamen!! I´ve had this song going circles in my head since the last time I saw the movie (2 weeks!!!). Gret film by the way.

  • is this song originally by michael Kamen?

  • ...after some googling:

kamen´s arrangement of song "Aquarela do Brasil" by brazilian songwriter Ary Barroso.

(original song also used in Brazil)

ps. just came home from the theaters... WALL EEEEE.

Like Brazil really great movie. nice music by thomas newman and amazing sound design by ben burtt. ;)

  • Brazil, while hearts were entertaining june

  • Not Wall-E FTW, BRAZIL ftw.

wall-e is fantastic but give this movie its e-cred, damn

  • Ary Barroso FTW.

  • Wall-E FTW

  • HAS ANYONE SEEN LOWRY?

  • HAS ANYBODY SEEN SAM LOWRYYYYY?

  • I wasn't watching a cowboy movie!!
