<3 Team Liesl! I just posted my 16 going on 17...a little late right? hahaha Now we have yours, mine, and jennas on here! MTV Liesls are taking over...lets convince taylor to dig up hers!
The lighting is terrible. Solution: Use more lights.
The dress is cheesy. Solution: Fire costumer
The railing and the landscape are extremely well painted.
Some parts of the set(brick wall, bench, vines) suggest that you are outside. Other parts(the railing, the window with a landscape) suggest you are inside. Solution: Invest in another curtain.
The guy playing Rolf is about as queer as a three dollar bill. He also says his lines much too fast
1. Lighting: It's supposed to be outside, dark, raining... there aren't supposed to any more lights. However, I think it's just hard to see from the video. In the theatre it seems brighter.
2. Dress: the dress they planned on having me wear didn't fit me. This was their second choice. It's not my favorite, but it's not bad. It's better than having to wear the uniform! So I was fine with it. = ]
3. Yes, we have good painters and set builders. = ]
4. Like I said before, this is a SMALL community theatre;the cool thing about it is that we are able to make the sets so that we have barely any set changes, considering that the stage is so tiny. We DO have another curtain, however, the costume change for me is so incredibly fast and everyone is trying to dress me, that the curtain just doesn't seem important and we don't have time. It is like a 10 second change. Plus, the scene right after needs to be inside the bedroom.
(in which we do have a bed and window and such, just so you know. hehe) and there is not enough time to change it. If this was a huge stage, yes probably. But on this one? no.
5. As far as Rolf, that's your personal opinion. So ok. w/e = ]
6. Thanks. I'm going to take that as a compliment! hehe = ]
But really, I had no control over any of that stuff, so I just performed with what I had. It was one of the best experiences of my life, so I didn't care. I just ABSOLUTELY LOVE performing.
I am so sorry for some of those comments. I was really drunk when I wrote all that. It's pretty much everything that I would have said anyway, I just would have used a much nicer tone. As for the comment about the fellow playing Rolf, I would normally have kept that opinion to myself. I'm very sorry if I offended you or anyone else in your cast. I found your video because I am playing Rolf in my community theatre group. If you'd like, I'll let you know when I have a video up. Once again, sorry!
