  • Super Saiya jin = Super Wakusei vegeta kara kitekureta jin

  • i hate how people complain about that term, news flash people YOU ARE GAIJIN deal with it when you go to a country that is 99% homogeneous and you are of a different race people can easily tell you are a lack of a better word a GAIJIN so grow up accept it and move on it isn't the endof the world, great vid fatblue man like always keep up the good work

  • @Cronosilver Problem is the reason why it's 99% homogenous is because they actually stole those lands from other minorities like the Ainu, who were the original people of Japan. They forced the Ainu to assimilate into Japanese culture and those who didn't were killed. And although Gaijin was never ment to be an offensive or racist term that term is applied harshly to other Asian minorities who visit Japan. And Japan is very racist when it comes to dealing with their Asian Neighbors

  • gaikokukarakitekuretajin

  • I dont think "gaijin" is necessarily racist. Compared to "gaikokujin", its just a less polite form of the word foreigner. If you are speaking casually, say "gaijin". If speaking to higher ranked people or in formal settings, say "gaikokujin". This is my opinion, I could be wrong.

  • @LotusDragon09 You're an ugly bastard. I am right.

  • this video rocks!

  • "ketou" is appropriate expression for the foreigner.

  • ROFL ... I couldn't stop laughing out loud hahahahahahahaha

  • GAIKOKUKARAKITEKURETAJIN.

  • Great, nice to see someone with a sense of humour here.

  • Quick, someone post this on ニコニコ.

  • How did he manage to say this with a straight face?

  • ...so basically, nothing changes? :D

  • *snicker*

  • so awesome lol

  • Dude, that`s seriously funny on so many levels.

  • I lol'd..HARD.

  • hahahaha thats funny

  • oh no Political Correctness has entered Japan

  • Some Japanese say " I like Gaijin men/women"

In this case I think it's not offensive. We "gaijin" are outside people, yes, but some Japanese have an admiration for everything that comes from "outside", so I think it's not offensive. All depends of how and what you say about it, I guess.

  • lol, nice

  • lol they decide NOT to use the word gaijin and use gaikokujin instead, but they also say that using gaikokukarakitekuretaijin (is that right?) is even more polite and then they say that theyll abbreviate it into BACK INTO gaijin i mean did they just do that so people wont be so offended because i think that there ARE some people stupid enough to think of it as an some awesome compliment or something even though its basically the same thing. i swear some people are really retarded

  • btw i really dont think that gaijin is that bad a word anyway

  • Gaijin isn't a bad word by nature. It's just like many words in that you can use it in a friendly, ambiguous and hurtful way. Just depends on the person.

  • it's a joke.............

  • lol

  • I don't even see why that's so offensive,

If a japanese person called me a gaijin

I wouldn't give a damn & It doesn't bother me, I would just say to that person "I am a gaijin & I'm proud of it!"

  • Context is the most important clue to knowing whether it's being used as a racist term or not. There are both pros and cons to the word "foreigner". Sometimes we seek, rather than fear or hate difference. When our current customs conflict with our personal beliefs we often turn to a different perspective to justify it. However, the word foreigner denotes another subtle meaning--the unknown, and consequently, the not understood. To anyone, not being understood is a terrible feeling.

  • some japanese who are smart never say gaijin because they know themselves are also foreigners(gaijin) in the rest of the world.

  • lol they just get bck to the same word ROFL!!!

  • im japanese.

    i like and respect foreigners.

some japanese can speak in english dont say gaijin.

some japanese cant speak in english say gaijin.

they just cant talk with you foreigners. just it.

  • Funny story.

If some Japanese person went off calling me a gaijin, I'd just be like "Oh, sup Jap"

    People are too touchy nowadays.

  • The negative connotation with regard to "jap" comes from WWII. The association with that mentality comes across as racist, particularly among English speaking citizens of Japan.

I've lived in America 30 years and 1 year in Japan. I speak both languages, but I know for a fact the word "gaijin" doesn't always imply a negative demeanor.

  • I don't see how "gaijin" is racist. I know its usually meant to mean an offense, but racist? Gaijin means ANY foreigner, not any particular race.

Wouldn't this be like making the english word "foreigner" an insult of sorts?

I know I'm splitting hairs, but I'd likely call it xenophobic before I call it racist.

  • i think you got it spot on

  • isn't gaijin kind of like saying Mexican, it can be offensive or not based on how you say it, and wouldn't saying gaikokujin be like saying Latino.

  • Gaiji is a not derogatory term.

    never mind

  • haha, I'm not a gaijin anymore ! :D

  • Roflmao

  • i told my japanese exchange person i am i will be a gai jin when i go to japan and she looked really shocked and then we both laughed it off, she says the younger generation dont tend to use that word cause they dont want to upset westeners

  • Dude, Gaikokujin does not mean outside country person. It means not Japanese. Gaijin is a derogatory derivative of Gaikokujin. Gaijin is an extremely hateful word in every sense. Much moreso that what we are used to.

  • gai - outer

    koku - country

    jin - person

what the hell are you talking about

and it's perfectly polite word. although gaijin ("outer+person") really is not so nice and using it is not so nice.

  • oh it's in the video also. what they say there is 90% correct. strange pronounciation and few errors here and there excluded, you can trust what they say there

  • 最高に面白い。腹抱えて笑いました。

I think I should try saying "gaikokukarakitekuretajin".

  • I have a bad news! You are crazy! LOL... And before I forget: blablabla bla bla blabla... You know? I think this is so important, like bla bla blablabla. :D LOL

  • おもしろい^^

  • The word Gaijin, like many words for groups of people, depends more on how it's used than the actual word.

I must admit, at first I hated it, but after a while I've come to understand when its meant to be an insult and when the "japs" are just being insensitive and culturally clumsy, not meaning any real negative meaning.

You hear the word a lot in Japan, if you get upset all the time, you'll get a stomach ulcer.

(by the way, I used the word "jap" as a bit of satire. I know it's offensive)

  • I herd a lot about gaijin and gaikokujin but gaikokukarakitekurejin XD? I lold! Dont say that word really exist, haha XD

  • This video is so misrepresenting our society, because the word "gaijin" is not discriminate word but just abbreviation of "Gaikokujin", which is too long to pronounce. In Japanese we often use abbreviation for convenience.

  • This is NOT misrepresenting of Japan at all. I lived in Japan for 16 months (in Fuji) and I hated it. The pointing, the staring and yes the constant "gaijin" bullshit. It's bad enough when adults call you this name, but when children do it it's even worse. I was in an elevator with a woman, she had a baby on her back that was no more than 20 months old. This baby pointed at me and said "gai--jin?". The mother smiled and said: "hai."

Okay "Jap"? There, how do you like it.

  • Huh? An infant, who could not walk alone and lied on the back of the mother, pointed at you and said, "Gaijin"? Who would believe such lie? Are you Korean? Why was the baby aware of you being gaijin? It is very difficult to distinguish between Korean and Japanese. We Japanese call only caucasians gaijin. And even if the mother said so, she had no intention to insult you. You are sensitive and biased so much.

  • JohnQRandom, I cannot believe that no more than 2 years old know the word "gaijin". And you should know that GAIJIN IS NOT INSULTING WORD! The word "Gaijin" have a nuance of respect. For example, if we say to someone handsome, "You look gaijin.", which means that he has a high bridged nose, deep eye sockets and long legs. Again I say to you, "You misunderstand the meaning of the word."

  • "JohnQRandom, I cannot believe that no more than 2 years old know the word "gaijin".

Fine, don't believe it, but it is true and I have told it to everyone back home, and here in Korea. The mother had an embarrassed smile on her face, because she's the one who taught him.

Everyone gets sick of Gaijin. It just sounds shitty. Christ japanese people refer to us as "gaijin" even when THEY'RE the ones visiting another country.

  • Comment removed

  • What? Are you happy insulting me? What have I done to you ever? Do you do such a nasty thing in your real life? Are Koreans such ppl like you?

  • Horrible history? What history? 20 million murder in China? or Korean invasion? Bull shit. They are lies. And why do we have to own up to what does not exist? Are you happy if someone said to you about your past crime that you actually did not commit? Or do you have evidence to such crimes of Japan?

  • Comment removed

  • What? Why do you call me "retarded fool"? Do you call ppl in real life like that, who do not have the same opinion as yours? What made you so angry? The Japanese at Hawaii laughing and smiling are retarded. This is the same problem here we have and call them stupid, for example, TV shows that in front of the murdered ppl in Akihabara some youths are laughing at. Young ppl visit and take picture at the earthquake site in Kobe like sightseeing, which is so disgusting. They are unspeakably damned.

  • Well okay then. I flew off the handle, so I'm sorry. And yes, as an American i know my country is no angel either.

I lived in your country, and have a lot of bad memories, so i get pissy easy. And for the record, NO I do not hate all Japanese people.

  • JohnQRandom, I am sorry that you had bad experience here in Japan. If some Japanese make you feel bad, I say to you on behalf of those stupid ppl, "I am sorry." I hope that you would come again to Japan and have a good time."

  • In 2001, in the International Conference held at the Asian Center of Harvard Univ. the legality of Annexation of Korea by Japan was discussed. Though Korean scholars insisted on the illegality, the international law scholars of other countries did not accept their arguments.

  • On the contrary, J. Cloford from Cambridge Univ. (International law professor) insisted on the legality of the policy, saying, "At that time it was quite common that a country which could not live for itself was involved into a surrounding country for the stability of international order, so Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty was not illegal from the point of view of international law."

  • them damn gaijins...

  • lol nice.

  • haha great vid, i hate the people that make a big deal out of the word "Gaijin" .. it's just a word and most people don't even use it offensively, some people need to learn to build bridges and get over them.. or.. jump over them.. take your pick! 5 stars.

  • I think the only people who have problems with the word gajin, are caucasians.

I am caucasian by the way.

  • You say you are Caucasian; but, on your profile it says our from Iraq. So you live in Japan? If you are really from Iraq, then Im sure you have been stopped by the police to show them your ID card? For the 1000th time. I always see the police stopping people who "look foreign" especially dark skinned people from India, Filipino, Brazil, you name it....And the reason why that is, is obvious; isn't it? Thats because dark skinned people are ALL terrorists. Makes sense, don't you think?

  • You are basing all you questions on your assumption that I am Iraqi. You deliberate act dumb to form a convincing arguement against me, and essentially try to find away of me not being reliable or in the same shoes as you. How deceitful.

I fought in Iraq, I am not Iraqi, ok? WHat you see and what I see may not be completely the same in all of Japan as we may live in different parts. Never start a defence by assuming my background, thats weak and shows your selfish arrogance. Grow up!

  • Yes, I have been stopped by Police, but who should I blame, all of Japan? How does this refute my arguement?

Also, they stop any foreigners, so don't emphasis minorities of minorities in Japan in order to get sympathy. Welcome to the world of the minority; if you dont like it, leave.

Japanese society can be racist considering majority and its recent welcoming of foreigners, but who choses to come here. We weren't pulled here through slavery, was we? Also, look up "gaijin san" and older terms

  • Historically, some usage of the word "gaijin" referred respectfully to the prestige and wealth of Caucasians or the power of western businesses. This interpretation of the term as positive or neutral in tone continues for some.

  • Wow this was really funny man!!!

  • call me baka gaijin, ill still smile and bow

  • gaijin e´a mae de vcs filhas da puta

  • not to be rude but when white people go to Japan, they finally feels what its like to be a minority in America to some effect... The same shit foreigners go through in Japan is the same crap minorities are put through in america...maybe now they know what its like to not have everything given to you...to not be the alpha race in a society.

  • Yeah, that's probably true.

  • When someone belonging to a majority group from one country goes somewhere where he is a minority, it happens also. Has nothing to do with japan.

  • No bud, you are absolutly right!!!!!!!!

And Japan is actually less brutal in its discrimination, esp now, considering.

Also, its hard to compare Japan and America, historically.

Idiots worrying about the word gaijin. Gaijins use the word gaijins. Also, what about ALIEN registration cards?

Once the term gaijin angered me, Now people, mainly caucasians who refute the term, anger me slightly.

  • @mennella2000 Alien Registration Cards are no longer issued (2004).

  • Oops, it was in 1997 that the "alien" language was dropped on the "Permanent Resident Card". Same language in Canada. Japan uses "Certificate of Alien Registration".

  • gaikokujin=gaijin

  • Hahaha! Nice one. :)

  • You are very funny. Love these videos!!

  • Dude, what's up with that comment about 2 American liberals?

  • gaikokukarakitekuretajin should end with hito. Just playin

  • Comment removed

  • It should be hito in this case. The joke would not work, but hito is grammatically correct here. It should be 訓読み, as it's a stand-alone word. "kureta" is a verb inflection, what follows that should always be 訓読み。

  • You guys worry about being called a gaijin? Yet you guys are quick to call asians chinks when they are abroad.

  • it's a satire.

  • This video is satire in nature, but gaijin do complain about be called such. Especially those gaijin who have lived in Japan for sometime and fancy themselves Japanese when they are white as bread.

  • veeery nice!

    especially the part gaikokukarakitekuretajin.

    hilarious!

    thanks a lot!

my parents are japanese....but I was born in Germany...thus...pretty german!

  • Funny and a good point,

I found it interesting in Japan how, for lack of a better term, racist the Japanese can be unintentionally, it's just the way they see the world, so odd... and outside the big cite of Tokyo it's really bad, I lived in Tsukuba and there were quite a few incidents me and my friends had there but whatever I still love the place :D

  • michael von drausen LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL is this rly ur name or ;)

  • Nope. But I hoped some knowledgeable German would drop by!! :-) Glad someone got the joke.

  • haha i dont know why but it makes me rly laugh alot ... although im not german but am the same as u, but in germany :P. keep the good work :)

  • beri good video.

  • I'm Brazilian living in Komaki!!!

So, I hate when they call me Gaijin.:)

    That's video so Funny!!

    (( Sorry for my English)).

  • hahah LAWL "gaikokukarakitekajin" hahah

  • funny.

  • "gaikokukarakitekuretajin" - lol! ^^

  • That was awesome. I had a nice laugh. :) Best ending ever.

  • This is totally awesome funny and true.

  • haha funy stuff

  • That's so funny .. ROTFL

  • Interesting and funny!

  • Hilarious ending!

  • The Japanese are a xenophobic people; even Ainu people are not considered Japanese in many parts of japan. As foreign as this concept may seem I hope someday people here will realize that Japan is a country, not a race!

  • When Japanese call you gaijin, do you feel uncomfortable?

  • No! Not at all! This is all totally a joke. :-)

  • これは「外人」を勝手に差別用語認定してる、

    ふざけた異人に対する皮肉かな?

    なかなかよくできてると思うけど、

    外人は「外の人」と言う意味ではなく、外国人の短縮語ですよ。

    外人墓があるんだから差別用語じゃないのはわかりそうなものだけど。

    まぁ、外国人が異文化に無理解なのは、たいていの人は知ってるから、驚きもしないけど。

  • ただの外人をからかっている冗談ですよ。真剣な意味が全然ない!

  • Haha, excellent! Very Onion/The Day Today.

  • The "gaijin" is not a meaning of outside person & outsider.

Outsider and outside person are called the "jingai" in Japanese.

It is different though looks like.

The "gaijin" is a meaning of foreigner & alien in Japanese.

  • Problem is not a word but a person.

    Do you understand?

  • No not really. Could you flesh that a out a little?

  • I like this video : ) We are the world

  • 外国から来てくれた人?

    来てくださいなんて頼んでないよ。

    日本に来たければ、来ればいい。

    日本に来たくなければ、来なければいい。

    本人の自由。

    自分が来たいから日本に来たんでしょう。

  • You guys are getting better and better, keep the good work!

  • lmao you guys are too much

    Keep it up!!!

  • very clever =3

  • Excellent vid! <3

P.S. In Victor's version, his name is "Francisco", not Fernando.

  • Nice catch! I'll change it now.

  • ROFL, about time a vid made me rofl extremly hard ._. *hugs* ILY, brillant!

  • **hugs back**

  • Very good! I like the direction this is going, I just watched GBM's "report" also and I could defiantly see a new channel in the future :). Also I think you should get Ken to do field reporting that would be great!

  • Yeah, your right. i'd better ask him about that.

  • Ah ha ha! JJ, your talents never cease to amaze me.

  • If we can call this talent, I thank you.

  • I'd say about 20. Seriously. I still can't say it twice in a row. I'd post the outtakes, but there's too much cursing...

  • roflmao

  • I just a Guy jin who doesn't get why the term 外人is offensive. Are petite adults, or that matter obese adults offended by the kanji for 大人?

  • Made me LOL. Can I use that? :-)

  • certainly

  • lol CERCL!

  • nice vid, I was a gaijin for 5 years...

  • In a word... awesome

  • Funny. Nice build up. And good "newsreadery" demeanour.

  • Sometimes I call you guys just by saying Gai-jin...I don't mean to offense anything but...I should be careful then. It's funny because we don't call another asian like Korean, Chinese ''Gai-jin''. We call them ''Kankoku-jin, Chuugoku-jin. Therefore in JP, a word ''Gai-jin'' tends to stand for Westerner I guess.

According to the bill has been passed, I will call you guys ''Gaikoku kara kite kureta jin'' and I put a little extra ''san'' in the end.

    Gaikoku kara kite kureta jin-san''

  • HAHAHAHA! See!!! You managed to make the most polite version even more polite!! Very nice! Very Japanese of you, runnyrunny999さん!

  • Pure Excellence! Really enjoyed that one, best laugh all day.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. We just try to report the facts.

    :-)

  • Hey iam Blue and fatter than you so makes me the true Fatblueman..? he he he

  • I am down for a fat blue-off any day!!!

    :-)

  • Ohh you couldn't handle Aussie fat its made of beer.!!!

And look i am the True Blue :P lol

  • Ohhh...so when they all point their fingers and go "ooo...gaijin!," they're really saying "ooo...gai...jin." Good to know, because I've often come very close to putting one of them through a window at the shopping center where they often do this. Now I know that I don't have to get so offended. Sweet.

  • Absolutely! From now on, just always assume the middle part...

  • that was funny as hell.

  • Hmmmm.... got your mail... mystery!

  • Well done, the humour is dryer than a dry thing, that's been left out to dry. :o)

    > Gaikokukarakitekuretajin

That's easy for you to say ;o)

Somehow antidissestablishmentarianism just doesn't seem to compare to verbose Japanese.

  • hahaha

  • These videos are so cute! So funny hun :D

  • That is way too funny satire!

  • Nice....feels better now knowing that in Japan, I'm a "Gai...jin." Nice stuff Fatblueman!
