I heard that Elvis also did the original "O.P.P" and I was wondering if anyone had a copy of that video? Naughty by Nature did a cover of this song in 1991
For some reason, when ever I heard this song, I always thought it was Elvis singing. It's just his kinid of song. never knew it was Queen and Freddie Mercury until today. wow... but it is a true Elvis song, even if he never officially sang it himself. an amazing tribute...
for those of you how listen to elvis knows tath this isnt hes voice... this is an queen song, and if you dont belive listen to 1:51, they say ready freddie,:p
@hitmansnightmare Elvis never recorded this song so theres nothing to copy - all anyone can do is an impression of what this song might have sounded like. And Stevie Riks is the best impressionist on the planet ! Elvis Beatles Bowie Bee Gees...you name it he does them better than anyone. And if you want real Elvis with a touch of humour check out ' Pledging My Love' and some of the others on this channel. You'd have to be a real fan to appreciate how great his impressions are.Cheers.
@brewmarrybore I never said that there was anything to copy from the song "crazy little thing". i simply don't like the sound of the vocals. They sound too stereotyped.
But I guess I don't have to listen I I don't want to.
I recall playing this on the air the first day it came out and asked people to call in and guess who it was. 90% thought it WAS Elvis. Another great job Stevie.
Freddie must have been inspired by Elvis when he wrote that song - even the instumental and drums have a Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana feel about then. Some people still think Elvis recorded that song. Mind there have been other versions since and some impersonators have tried to cover it - none as good as our MrRiks it has to be said.

FYI.
This song was made famous by Elvis Presley in 1954.
Was then re-written by Freddie Mercury from Queen (to current Generation's beat) which is not wrong sound nice.
But if the song wasn't good, it will not be re-mix or re-written. right?
By the way, I think Freddie Mercury not born yet either.
slls3103 3 months ago
Actually, Freddie was thinking of Eddie Cochran when he wrote this not Elvis.

THIS is why so many people are under the impression that Freddie did a cover of Elvis with this song!
mickeyismyname 1 year ago 17
@mickeyismyname Its because he purposefully tried to sound like Elvis, in a rockabilly style, as a tribute.
