Simone Kermes is a soprano full of virtuosism, she to me is a great singer, she did a really nice job with Rodelinda, but my Ideal Rodelinda is a Mezzo Rodelinda, this was a role for Francesca Cuzzoni, who was a full soprano, but after have heard Magdalena Kozena singing with David Daniels Io T'abraccio, I would prefer the color of a mezzo here.
After all, Handel only wrote three high C's in all his operatic works, aren't you going to tell me that a mezzo can't sing in that range? =)
@thebarroque I can't agree more. Kozena truly is one of the best Cleopatras ever. Any great high mezzos such as Bonitatibus, Didonato, and Bartoli would be happy singing the music written for Faustina, who was even more of a mezzo than Cuzzoni was. And what an Alcina Joyce Didonato created!
This was so pretty! I wish I could sing like her!

I know of one mezzo who could but she chooses not to sing that high! She was my previous vocal coach. :-)

@thebarroque You'd find your ideal Rodelinda in Anna Caterina Antonacci.
