I think the sound effect is intentional.. this is Amir Zaki for you.. he is different..

In some of his songs this effect is not present and voice is quite mesmerisng..

he is not your regular Kishore Kumar or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan..he is not afraid to experiment.. if I am not mistaken
