  • The Countach outperforms the first version of the Testarossa by a little bit in acceleration and the track, but the Testarossa has a higher top speed. The Countach wins in looks and the Testarossa in comfort and I know so since I had sex inside my Testarossa with my ex wife!!!

  • i'm glad that rich ppl have the oppertunity to act out my fanticies for me

  • I want both of THEM!!!

  • The countach is a beast, but i think the testarossa looks way better! just sayin.

  • The thing I love about both these cars is that they show how a car doesn't have to be good to be brilliant.

  • fag

  • I love how everyone who watches top gear is suddenly a supercar expert... - lol.

  • I like them both,

but in a rather different way.

They stand each for a different aspect of the 80s.

The Countach realy was that harsh, extravagant superspaceship.

And the Testarossa stood for the glamour and the finess of the decade.

I think to understand the 80s in supercars, you need both of them.

    In your garage box. 8-)

  • I love those 2 but....Countach 4 me PLS!

  • It always seemed to me that ferrari got a lot of influence for the testarossa from the 70s countach and so did lotus with their esprit, just my opinion on this matter. I love both of these beautiful classics.

  • The countach's "flaws" (stiff clutch, bad visibility) all add to the essence of countach. It is one of, if not the most amazing looking, sounding automobile ever built. Its styling is timeless, and its body lines have inspired many supercars. Its speed, even by todays standards is incredible. You cant call it rubbish because of its "fuel consumption" because all supercars get bad gas mileage. If you care about fuel consumption, buy a prius. Once you drive the countach, you fall in love with it

  • @deanP382 The top gear episode was made to be controversial. Besides It's not hard to hook a reversing camera up to a portable gps. Needless to say, it's not the sort of car you drive to the shops, but most supercars aren't. :)

  • @deanP382 Ok if the person is under 180 cm tall .-)

  • @deanP382 nope, got sick of one and sold it.

  • They are both works of art. You can't compare the two.

  • hello all.when did balboni say countach is crap?i can`t believe my ears:P.please show me.i like both the TR and the Countach.i think they`re great because they were poster cars in the truest meaning:)

  • investment ?

testarossa buy price start around 45 000 euros

    countach start around 145 000 !!! euros!!

  • Bring it Testarossa you can't win!.

  • only in top speed, fuel consumption, build quality and user friendlyness but the countach is much more awsome

  • Not even in those aspects the Countach is far superior than the TR.

  • No it aint, the countach is a rubbish build, and rubbish to drive, it has roughly the same fuel consumption as a SRT10 ram.

All the reviews of it i have read were full of complaints. And it lost againts theTR mostly

Vallentino balboni said it was crap.

My uncle owned an import business in the eighties dealing with special vehicles, he sold 4 countachs in the eighties and he got 3 of them sent back to him while the 2 TR he sold were to satisfaction.

I never take sides but this is the sad truth.

  • I have had personal experiences with both cars and the TR is light years behind what the countach brought to the table.

The TR back in its time wasn't even faster than the Buick Grand National and GNX let alone the Lamborghini Countach.

Without a doubt the Countach had its fair share of issues but if you look around today and see which one is more valueable you can see the Countach is still holding its value much greater than a TR does.

A TR these days retails for 50k while a CT goes for 80+

  • Ive got a hard time seeing any truth in that, You can't sit in the driver seat of a Countach for more than 5 minutes without getting severely uncomftorable. You can hardly park it either. You have to stick your head out the window to change lanes because the rear window hardly exists. The gearbox looses its sync completely after 20000km. The six double webers were never troublefree. They made 2,042 Countach under 16 YEARS prod. and 7,177 mk1 TR under 7 Years prod. Thats why the TR is cheaper.

  • The stuggles of the countach is what makes the car more interesting than its competetion as well as its jet fighter design.

The Testarossa was nothing special compared with the Countach. I mean really the kids who grew up in the 80's weren't pinning up Testarossa picks hell no! The Countach was the car of its day and still is.

Its just one of those interesting cars like the Dodge Viper RT-10 was for the 90's with its plastic windows. It was unbearable but it was more fun the ZR1.

  • Agreed, though kids with TR posters were not uncommon in europe at least. You were either a TR or a Countach person.

I would have a Countach any day over a TR but I would never ever dare to buy one. Perhaps a replica built with more user friendly parts like a Bmw or Jag V12 and perhaps a 6 speed getrag. A real one would spend more time the at mantainence than on one's driveway sadly.

    The RT-10 is awsome

  • I can agree with you on the replicar idea. You could indeed engineer a customized countach that would be much easyer to live with than a real one.

Even the fiero based ones are more friendly than the real cars.

  • @James007BondSniper2

    1) who gives a crap about supercar gas mileage

    2) *IF* balboni said countach was crap, he was comparing it to newer lambos.

    3) if you cant backup, or park using just the side mirrors, then your not a good enough driver.

  • @James007BondSniper2 Balboni NEVER said the Countach was crap. He loved it. If you care about a supercar's fuel consumption, you can't afford one. IF you let a countach sit (like any other supercar) it will have problems. If you drive them and maintain them like a normal car, it works perfectly. Jay Leno's countach has 80,000+ miles on it and he used it as a daily driver with NO problems. And if you haven't noticed, Jay Leno is a BIG guy, so he must've been quite comfortable.
