The F430 isn't made for top speed. It is made for:

1) Handling

2) Driving experience (insane throttle response, unbelievably responsive steering, incredible noise, incredible acceleration without any delay, etc)

3) Last but not l least, style, heritage and status

A drag tuned Evo can not possibly be a substitute for a Ferrari, and a Ferrari cannot possibly be a substitute for a drag tuned car.

No, don't even think of drag tuning that Ferrari. You'll ruin it.

In the end the choice is personal, and a passion for cars may not be understood with reason and logic. People who drive EVO's could have settled with a regular Lancer for a lesser price, but they are not. So maybe its just pointless for one car fanatic to convince that his favorite car is better; you just like it or you dont.

Thats a lame excuse to defend a overpriced, overhyped, less-practical and less capable car.

Top speed is about as much fun as taking a trip in a budget airline, or orbiting around the sun. If you have a five kilometer stretch in your backyard, because you wont make it on most tracks or public roads.

there is couple of reasons as to why evo's have only around 300hp stock:

- evos are born from rallying, and have to comply to its rules and regulations so 2,0 litre engine is what you have to work with.

- mitsubishi motors signed a gentlemens agreement along with other japanese manufacturers to limit their production cars to 280PS/276hp

- emphasis is more on grip, handling and control, rather than just raw power

@commandro Overpriced? They're hand built and Ferrari, being a much smaller company, has to take larger profit margins than other companies. This is why a Ferrari costs more than a Corvette or a Nissan GT-R.

-There is no clear indication that factory produced cars are any less durable than hand build ones. In contrary: japanese cars have a far better reputation compared to italian as far as durability goes. Most of the price when buying a ferrari is for the brand.

-I guess there is no need for a discussion about which car is more practical.

-You can drive a ferrari anywhere you want, as long as its smooth asphalt otherwise you wreck it.

It depends on how much you tune your ride...I'm from Romania n we have a guy with a Dacia Logan ( in some countries its branded as a Renault )...the guy modified it soooo much that it does 0-100 km ( 0-60 mph ) in around 4 sec...he made it go up to 300 km/h ( it could go faster but he was a bit too scared that the car might disintegrate at that speed )
