PS3 Slim Freezing Problem (Help)

well my PS3 Slim brand new.... Freezes all the time... like 30mins to 2-3 hours later all the time... it cant be over heating since the thing is brand new and has a Cooling unit added. Well Guess ill just return it with the warranty and get a working one Considering it will freeze on anything PS3 Games DL games...even Netflix has frozen on me

Mines sometimes freezed if it's being played for too long. When i turned it off, it beeps 3 times about 10 seconds later and powers off. Do you know about this problem yet,dude?

HElp i have the same problem i had mine for like 2 yeasr like i turn it on play the bf3 beta for like 30 minutes then it freezes and one froze so i turned it of and it kept on blinking and didnt turn on so i unplugged the power source put it back on then turned it on but thank god it was fine but is this a sign ylod plz reply as soon as possible tnx

OMG i have the same problem but i had mine since Xmas last year.... I go to play GTA IV and im online and it freezez and same offline i feel my PS3 and it feels hot so i turn the A/C on in my room and it cools alittle quicker so i can only play for 10-20 mins PLEASE HELP i dunno if i should send it to sony or gamestop OR try to fix it myself

maybe cuz u play on a shitty ass t.v no (offense) when i had my ps3 slim i had it for a year no problems it works perfectly u need a good t.v for it if u have a sony tv or other t.v that is kinda good use it and if it does work thank me lol

dude, here is the way to prevent ur ps3 from freezing or any of the problems...

1st i bought a ps3 and i played on it like 10hrs and frm then it started freezing...so sony replaced it...thank god..

so i now play on the ps3 for max 2 hrs....don't play more or it start overheating and now my ps3 is perfect for 2 years...no problems at alll and keep the ps3 and a open area, no walls or anythingg...

i can't really remember, i have a different ps3 now and it works great!

I have a similar issue but my is when ever i try to play any rts game or strategy game at all my ps3 will go to blue/black screen as always but then it will just sit there on that screen even thought the system is still on and running fine. help?

@superboy12396 xbox 360s will eventually always get red rings... idk anyone that has an xbox 360 and didnt get red rings at one point... ps3 has blue ray player though so if u watch alot of blue ray movies its a big factor to add in to your decision. personally ive had both.. i gave up on xbox from red rings all the time and got a ps3... its been about 8 months since i got my ps3 and i got this same error... so now i just give up on videogames... fuck it all its just a waste of money and time

your ps3 probably has a corrupted hard drive.

IF so THis is how u fix it.

Step1:Safe Mode(IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW SEARCH IT)

STEP2:Restore File System(if it syas ur ps3 has a corrupt hard drive then restore file system)

Step 3: You will be back at Ps3 home. HOPE it runs fine now.

That fixed my ps3.

this slim only has heat issews when it doesnt have good ventilation, for the freezing Video it can be the av cable/ hdmi. Mine did it too cuz my cable was going straght up and the hot air from the console caused a malfunction which froze the game. or it can be the disk drive thats the main prob with the slim

I noticed that the alot of ps3's freeze when you first get them, but after several weeks, it almost always stops. I think its just the ps3 getting used to the file system on the hard drive.

ps: yes my ps3 froze when I first got it, but after a while, it stopped and never happened again.

what i have done was when the ps3 is off, hold the power button until turns back off, the wait 2 seconds, then hold the power button again untill u hear one beep, then two quick beeps, once you hear that let go fast, the select menu option number 3.

I dont know if this will help but when I first got my ps3 slim it always froze. After a few days of turning it off and on it stoped all of a sudden and now its been 3 months with out any freezing problems.
