Combined with making a duplicate retouched layer adjustable in opacity you can achieve any degree of retouch you want. I love this technique. Thanks for the tips!!!!

I have done that before I even saw this tutorial it's really easy I sometimes use a huge sized slightly transparent blot too depending what area of the face i am doing. sometimes for eg. my kids have vegemite on their face or something so i use PSP7 to cover it.

It was probably set as your background .

It's automatically locked, right click the layer and hit dublicate , anyways its good practice to dublicate the picture .
