Normally, I don't care for private home inspectors... but, this is a good case of a worthy inspection. Notice that the furnace is draft-induced. Naturally drafted furnaces would have little difficulty dealing with a small gas leak. Methane gas is lighter than air and will travel harmlessly up a flue vent.
Attics in most newer homes are extremely well-ventilated. Collection and ignition of accumulated gas is a rarity.
