I love models and designs of Alexander. He always had fantastic original ideas. He was the best designers, along with John Galliano. Also clothes, as suggested by Alexander, no one. They are wonderful. Pity that he died.

I don't understand the hate.

The models are thin because they essentially coat hangers - they display the clothes - a thin model takes less attention away from the clothes than an 'average' sized model. A larger model would stretch the clothes (which would ruin McQueen's vision) - he could make bigger clothes, but that would ruin the effect which he aimed for.

This isn't clothing, this is art - "convention" and "utility" mean nothing - the purpose of the clothing is to provoke a reaction.

wow, those shoes are hideous, and if you can't walk like a lady in shoes, then why wear them? They are so tall the models can't keep their legs straigt, they are walking like ducks. That defeats the purpose of fashion, these dresses are hideous, who would actually wear them? This guy is nuts, it is ashame people have nothing better to do then to adore and care about his fashion. It steps out of the boundaries. Fashion is an art. If you want to see easy-to-wear, boring fashions.. @moondance3 part 2. .the whole theme of the end is apparent throughout the show. on a more intimate note the houndstooth dresses that spiral out into the birds in flight..imho it was a depiction of the cage he felt he lived in. as well as the cycle of breaking free but not able to truly escape.

Alexander was always quite odd, in a good fashion. His work seems to reflect him personally, as moondance3 said. it's very eerie and scary, yet very artistic. The whole concept of the show from my opinion was to look like Aliens. You can understand tht from how their hair is done, the shoes and some of the outfits. not aliens, if you saw the interviews of the head makeup and hair dressers in charge of this mcqueen show they explicitly state that mcqueen's influence was darwin's theory of evolution. notice all the symmetry and exquisite patterns he uses to show the evolution of style and fashion. also the colors are thematic to nature and evolution. the models were therefore not mean to look like "aliens"

The first thing I thought was, he designed this show while knowing he was going to kill himself. The design and music are haunting and amazing. The beginning video seems like the woman was in a waking nightmare, the cameras trained on the audience and each other( means "self reflection"?). The dresses looked like poisoned innards inside the body. Hope all the models got a bonus for weaing the shoes-they earned it! I could see the looks in a futuristic movie. RIP AM, you will be missed.

@moondance3 i agree on the music but the camera's acted like gates to Atlantis (notice shapes) as for the dresses they are inspired by the scales of snakes and fishes (look at his editorial campaigns of that season and you will see snakes all over the place)
