This is very interesting. One thing though. The idea that 'everything starts with a thought' is contentious. There is no evidence to suggest that thought precedes feeling. To my mind, it seems more likely to be the other way around. A 1 day old baby doesn't cry because of negative thought patterns. It cries because it is feeling lost/alone/abandoned/hungry, etc. Negative cognition doesn't come till much later on, the emotions are there from day one. Otherwise, very interesting.
@simeon54 Interesting argument. But let me tell you this. When a yog grasps his consciousness to the level of what a newborn baby's might be, and is faced with the task of controlling his thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within this new awareness, He still could not blame his lack of control on his newly open consciousness. More
appropriate than to say that the infant starts to cry because of a thought of negativity would be to say that the infant picks up on a negative thought or feeling in the atmosphere and because his consciousness is likely uncontrolled due to the karma he/she is born with, he/she will cry.
YES I DO IM ADDICTED TO MY EMOTIONS, SPECIALLY WHIT NEW EMOTIONS, FOR EXAMPLE, I DONT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND BUT WHEN I TALK WHIT A GIRL (SPECIALLY ONE OF MY GERMAN CLASS) I FEEL A STRANGE EMOTION IN THE STOMACH, A GOOD EMOTION, WHAT IS IT? I DONT KNOW "IN LOVE?" I DONT BELIEVE IN THIS WORD.

Any evolutionary biologist or neurologist would make mincemeat out of this assertion. The "science" here is so profoundly defiled that it's almost dangerous. I'm sure you don't actually believe anything you're saying; the problem is that someone else might.
@skynet556 It's really basic and rudimentary "science" but consider that the average layman doesn't even understand it at this level, it's the best she could probably do. It's not like she could cover the complexity of the amygdala and have people actually understand it... I think at the very least she's trying to do a service in telling people to control their emotions.
A way to deal with our emotions is to realise that we stand apart from the world of our emotions ,the way we feel about persons, situations etc is not the real world but our filters.WE are something than or emotions and we must deal with them as external objects. That way ,we don;t become stiff and bleak ,on the contrary ,we give ourselves the freedom to see and act accordingly.
I was reading the book Evolve Your Brain by Dr. Dispenza, and you made this point that he mentioned in the book very clear. Thank you so much. I found out about this book when you mentioned it in one of your videos and i bought it. I learned so much from this book. You are a Great Teacher.
Nice video..i just watched what the bleep from netflix..I too experienced a level of excitment about the concept of understanding/controling my emotions to shape a much more positive and fullfulling reality.
My be if you if you have a brain of a addict . are you a addict ? Is there people that are not addicts and just live a unselfish un meterialistec life and feel connected to god ?
Great explanation. Have you read Joe Dispenza's book Evolve Your Brain? It is about these same concepts. I have read many books on mind/body/conscioussness. This book is my favorite.
@mvantol1, I agree with what you are saying, but I don't think you have understood what I am asking. I hope KatieFreiling, gets my question this time and gives me a response.
@KatieFreiling, I am still waiting for a response to my question, it could perhaps be because, I haven't addressed it to you by using the character "@". You may find the question in the comments section from a month ago. Thank you.
I don't know if I understood you correctly, but are you saying that the cells, that are addicted to the chemicals of a certain emotion are capable of creating external circumstances or capable of leading us or attracting circumstances to us, in order that by experiencing those circumstances our bodies will produce the chemicals that these cells have been craving for?
@ThePodarek Yes, I think you formulated this in a very nice way. This process happens in the brain, where behavioral patterns are stored. By activating sets of neurons, our hypothalamus creates peptides. By changing our thoughts (in either way), we change the peptides that our hypothalamus create, and slowly all of our cells change their desired types of peptides.
I think some people are misunderstanding why it might be necessary to control your emotions and the context of the word "addiction" here. I've been struggling with depression and various anger issues, and this video I must say have opened up my mind. Now that I see the biological system behind emotions and potential influence on health, I feel like I need to shape up and change. Thank you for sharing this great information. I think all the fucking youtube commenters and noobs can learn from this
"If you actually consistently experience these in your life, you are addicted to them".
Really? I thought that, in most cases, was called mental illness (people that feel depressed for long periods of time most likely have clinical depression, etc., people whose emotions often fluctuate between highs and lows at rapid speeds are most likely bi-polar).
Emotions are just reactions to stimuli. You can't and shouldn't try to stop them... Plus, people blame you for actions, not emotions :P
For instance, say i walk up to your child and punch him/her straight in the face. The natural reaction would be anger. No one would blame you for being angry (in fact most would probably be upset if you weren't!), praise or blame only comes from the action done from that emotion.
So the emotion isn't the problem, it's what you do with it that is :) <3
Katie, I have to admit I'm not 100% sure if you're a scam or not (no offense), but what you are speaking of really resonates with me. My very close family and friends have been practicing self-awareness and being in the moment for a few years now; and it hasn't been easy lol! It's nice to know there are other young women out there that are trying to follow a true path of love and peace. xoxo
Utter nonsense!! An addiction/addictive behaviour is used as an aviodance mechanism/soothing! And what is it being used to avoid? - dysfunctional emotional reactions or processing....
this is what happens, when young people try to define their existence, just reading magazines on delusional athiests. Let me sum up what shes saying, your human, you get mad sad, happy etc. Learn to cope with it, dont lose self control.
a. A great many of us have actually matured with age and are thus not having these completely negative and traumatic episodes every time our ice cream melts before we eat it.
b absolutely noone watching this video would ever ever make the assumption that you are in anyway a "scientist" but thanks for confirming what we already knew.
when your asinine ,scam website goes down in flames, just stop and take a few deep breaths and dont take it personally.

dont be broad we are not anatomically all the same shawty, so being degraded by this nation segregated and discriminated against is my own emotional imbalance be serious shawty,in the real world ,what are u controling? who or what u are?are u becoming someone else?i can step back take deep breaths and sit down the rest of my life ima die a black man,any cures?does ur trick only work for the rich that can manifest its worth with cash? as ur boy j.t. kirk would say "enlighten me"
It reminds me of a book called quantum healing which spoke about this connection of emotion to the bodies physiology. It also spoke about how the long term effects of sustained negative emotions can have an impact on a persons health. Good read.
The movie received so much criticism for its portray of quantum physics that sections about the human brain suffered because they were actual science.
Second it seems that you and Dr. Dispenza ignore the fact that regardless of the fact anything you do, every experience has an emotion. Human beings are emotional beings. The key then is to become addicted to Positive Emotion such as overwhelming self confidence and happiness. Then the you will look for those emotions in the environment
The peace symbol (also called the "broken cross," "crow's foot," "witch's foot," "Nero Cross," "sign of the 'broken Jew,'" and the "symbol of the 'anti-Christ''') is actually a cross with the arms broken. It also signifies the "gesture of despair," and the "death of man."
Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I think being emotional is healthy. It seems like people generally use the term "emotional" to describe someone who is out of control with his/her emotion. But I consider "emotional" as understanding his/her own emotion and knowing how to wisely deal with it.
I love your tip. Step back, have some space, and take a break. :)
What you've just described here, is a simple technique called: stop the thought before it shoots out into the universe. i've heard of this concept before buy a channeler (spiritual person), but i guess couldn't put it to use, since i didn't know what to use it for at the time. now, i'm instantly able to stop my anger fear BEFORE it shoots out into the universe (thus canceling it). I really feel this works big time. Someone has to be well into spirituality, to catch on to you.
This is so true. I've watched what the bleep do we know some couple of years back, and wasn't realizing at the time why that movie was such an enlightening experience. Having you remind me that movie Katie, i've realized once more, that the brain just mimics emotions over and over again. all the meditation in the world wouldn't get me there, since it focuses on blanking the mind, which takes too long. Thank you for sharing that with us!
what if your feeling depressed because your not happy with who you are. maybe you feel unattractive? or ugly? and all you can do is stress and feel depressed. but then you say take deep breaths and be more in the present moment and take more deep breaths and bring more awareness to who we really are.. but what if your not happy with who you are? thats the problem. It makes it worse. because then you actually realize how repulsive you are. does that make sense? Great video by the way.. :) lol
Katie, you are so amazing, Thank you so much for youre special attention to those of use who seek your special gift.. Feelings are so important, they send out our vibrations and thus, we get more of what we we vibrate out. Physically , this explains how this is all coming full circle.. You are great, thanks so much !
Yet another great movie Katie you are very good at conceptualizing things, I noticed this a while ago and it blew me away too, thank you for sharing another wonderful video.
First off let me say that this was a very good video. What The Bleep Do We Know is a favorite of mine and I feel its 100 times more powerful that "The Secret". I've come into the realization recently about how powerful our emotions are and that the key is to be able to control and direct the virtually limitless energy of our emotions. I've been using Emotional Freedom Techniques to this end with excellent results. I strongly reccommend EFT. Search Youtube or Google for more information. Peace.
Unfortunately, the people who need to learn about this the most, are the ones that are less likely to come across/seek about it or even be willing to hear the message. They need to continue to be a victim of themselves until they realize it. More time to learn no time is needed. I know I'm guilty of that :)
