I'd much, much, much rather purchase a laptop with a swiveling screen that can at any given time become a tablet. The first and only time I ever plan on purchasing a tablet in its entirety, a device with no keyboard attachment is if it costs me practically nothing and offers one basic feature. In my opinion, the ipad is a very well thought out device. The 4:3 vs 16:9 argument is mute, as this is not a tv, but mostly an internet browsing device. But as an internet device it is perfect.

The iPad is a waste of money. iProducts are trendy marketing successes, but failures as real computers. If you don't know what you're doing, then buy Apple. They'll only let you do what they want you to do.
The iPad tried to combine the functions of a smartphone, laptop, and mp3 player. The problem is that you can't do all of those functions in one device. I'd rather have a good phone in my right pocket, a Zune in my left, and a laptop in my backpack.
There are many things you can say about the iPad, but the bezel is the best thing on it. When i use my galaxy tab for a longer time, my thumbs gets fkkd up. When i use my ipad i have no problem with this.
And i kind of agree with the aspect ratio. but the movies only play a small part in the ipad. There will be alot more to gain with the current aspect ratio.
So if you want a tablet to mainly watch movies and listen to music,you should go with the galaxy. For those who want to read etc,the ipad

I dont use SD Cards :P, I use CF cards (compact flash) on my Canon 30D, I have no need for an SD card slot untill I can get an EOS 1D with both CF and SD slots, and even then, it would still be rarely used, I rarely go over the 800 shots in a weekend, and my CF card would be atlesat 16GB if I had a 1D, the SD would be just an overflow card

However I agree with the points you've brought up, for example the camera, screen arrangements for movies etc. Although, the major thing that I find as a disappointment is that it doesn't support flash. Now having said that, I do admit I hate flash, I think the devil must of made it, however, nonetheless even as much as I hate it with a passion, there are a lot of sites I visit that require flash.
I have an iPod Touch and the reason I wouldn't get it is because the iPod Touch is a pocket computer, not the iPad. The iPad should have a front camera, but I think a back camera would be weird.
It is a horrible product because of greed. It could have been a wonderful device, but is only worth the money if you Jailbreak it (but you of course lose your warranty).
I love my Macbook pro, but the Ipad is the most locked in device I have ever used. You can't use adobe flash, you can't make youtube playlists and they constantly want you to buy apps that aren't even necessary. Very good points. I remember when my cousin had to buy the Iphone when it first came out and was so happy with the features, especially the music integration. Then he found out it was lacking several key features, most importantly stereo bluetooth. It says a lot about Apple and what they think of their customer base to purposelly disclude key features so that they can include them on future models.
in some ways i love my iPad, and in some ways I'm like "I should've waited for a comparable, but more affordable and functionable product, like T-Mobile's Galaxy."

I'd much, much, much rather purchase a laptop with a swiveling screen that can at any given time become a tablet. The first and only time I ever plan on purchasing a tablet in its entirety, a device with no keyboard attachment is if it costs me practically nothing and offers one basic feature. Full, real time interfacing with any other computer of my choice. The tablet would have to act as a mobile screen. Technology will never reach this state so long as people keep riding apple's fat prick.

Apple spends about $0.5 billion ($500 million) just on advertising every year, roughly 1/10 of their yearly budget. A great product dose not need to be advertised that much for good sales. In fact in most cases a co spends that much on advertising during start up or when they're doing poorly. When your buying apple, your paying for a marketing delusion.

In my opinion, the ipad is a very well thought out device. The 4:3 vs 16:9 argument is mute, as this is not a tv, but mostly an internet browsing device. If you ask me you don't need more than 16 gb, unless you staff the thing with music, what I don't do. There are much better mp3 players out there, the apple products don't shine in that category. But as an internet device it is perfect.

it's no news that ipad is an overpriced commercial product made just to milk naive apple consumer fanatics. any cheap net book is better than that shit in terms of functionality comfort and price. nonetheless, Steve Jobs is a genius advertiser. if Apple would start selling plain construction bricks and call it, say, iBrick, ppl would still buy it just because of the apple logo alone.

@Jaroldv127 Touchscreens are garbage for gaming. It's bad when your controller is overlapping the screen you're playing on. Console-like games require more than just a tap/long tap controls. It's stupid.
The iPad is a waste of money. iProducts are trendy marketing successes, but failures as real computers. If you don't know what you're doing, then buy Apple. They'll only let you do what they want you to do.

The iPad tried to combine the functions of a smartphone, laptop, and mp3 player. The problem is that you can't do all of those functions in one device. I'd rather have a good phone in my right pocket, a Zune in my left, and a laptop in my backpack.

There are many things you can say about the iPad, but the bezel is the best thing on it. When i use my galaxy tab for a longer time, my thumbs gets fkkd up. When i use my ipad i have no problem with this.
And i kind of agree with the aspect ratio. but the movies only play a small part in the ipad. There will be alot more to gain with the current aspect ratio.
So if you want a tablet to mainly watch movies and listen to music,you should go with the galaxy. For those who want to read etc,the ipad

Agreed on everything except the aspect ratio and the bezel.
16:9 is awesome for movies but would make anything other than movies and clips pain in the back to use. It would also feel weird when using it vertically.
Also , how would you hold a touchscreen device of that size without the bezel?

I dont use SD Cards :P, I use CF cards (compact flash) on my Canon 30D, I have no need for an SD card slot untill I can get an EOS 1D with both CF and SD slots, and even then, it would still be rarely used, I rarely go over the 800 shots in a weekend, and my CF card would be atlesat 16GB if I had a 1D, the SD would be just an overflow card

Firstly, Mitch625 you're damn hot! Secondly, the iPad - I love quite a lot! However I agree with the points you've brought up, for example the camera, screen arrangements for movies etc. Although, the major thing that I find as a disappointment is that it doesn't support flash. Now having said that, I do admit I hate flash, I think the devil must of made it, however, nonetheless even as much as I hate it with a passion, there are a lot of sites I visit that require flash.

I have an iPod Touch and the reason I wouldn't get it is because the iPod Touch is a pocket computer, not the iPad. The iPad should have a front camera, but I think a back camera would be weird.

It is a horrible product because of greed. It could have been a wonderful device, but is only worth the money if you Jailbreak it (but you of course lose your warranty).
I love my Macbook pro, but the Ipad is the most locked in device I have ever used. You can't use adobe flash, you can't make youtube playlists and they constantly want you to buy apps that aren't even necessary. If you want to do something that doesn't give them direct revenue they won't support it.

Very good points. I remember when my cousin had to buy the Iphone when it first came out and was so happy with the features, especially the music integration. Then he found out it was lacking several key features, most importantly stereo bluetooth. It says a lot about Apple and what they think of their customer base to purposelly disclude key features so that they can include them on future models.
