  • lol she looked like she thought she nailed the last note....

  • The B wasn't amazing at the end, but it sure sounded better than if she'd stayed at a G. I don't know it just doesn't hit the spot for me if they stay at a G, kind of an anti-climax.

  • everything was sooo wonderful.......... except that last note its actually written to stay at a G but no she just had to go ruin it and go all they way up to a B - it's written that way for a reason

  • Fantastic performer through out the show - love her. Ok last night was slightly off but shewas the only performer who didnt have bum notes throughout the show - a shame everywhere homes in the one bum note she did in the show - which is probably why is doing so well now in the west end.

  • Very Good!!!!!! Could Have Done Better On Last Note Though. :I

  • If you listen to Julie Andrews broadway version, you'll see that she goes MEGA high! Lauren was trying to be the same, but it came out wrong.

  • Wrong repertoire for her but she is adorable. A for Effort!!!

  • Terribly out of tune at the end that high notes was really bad .

  • Ugh, it was surprisingly good until the end came =/

  • @stanley1jacob It's too bad few people understand English grammar. Anyways, I doubt anyone really cared about the last note being too sharp. Sure she is covering the song, but that doesn't mean she can't do parts of it her own way. I know I sure didn't.

  • @cuband8 It's not that it was sharp. She was right on pitch. It just sounded dreadful.

  • she has such an amzing range. when she belts those high notes it sounds like butta

  • @BroadwaySongbird27 you are so right - she belts higher than I have heard anybody do before

  • there is no shame if they changed the key to make her feel more comfortable cause she can still sing and did very well. good job! in theater, its common to change like that

  • AMAZING' i really think either her kr Sophie shildve won cause Danielle just feels unexperienced and weaker but she tried to belt the last note in falsetto so it just needed to land softer but she shdave been top two with Sophie :)

  • SCARAMOUCHE!! Hehe :L I saw her last week in we will rock you and she was incredible :)

  • this is in a lowered key, and her head voice needs some work

  • schleep. hahahaha love it!!!

  • Ummm, this is a difficult song, even without all the moving around. Before you say she stinks, try singing it youtselves, let's see how you do. With choreography, of course.

  • She stinks

  • I like how the entire song was transposed down for her....

  • She's a mezzo belter - and if you're used to singng mezzo it's hard to switch into soprano!! That makes it easier for real sopranos (but none of the girls there were sops :( )

  • she was always a brilliant singer and can dance very well. but like in this performance. her acting was just quite fake for me. like what was with the annoying actions she did, for example with "begged for more." plus i agree that last note was kinda out of tune bit painful on the ears.

  • this is amazing...

  • They've changed the key...it annoyed me when they went on about how good her 'soprano' was, when her only 'soprano' note was the last two, and the very last was hideous.

  • well, she's definitely a performer.

  • Terrible last note :(

  • It's such a shame, she did it perfect in the dress rehearsal :(

  • Stick with the High G that's written in the score and that everyone does -__-. the high C sounds silly here imho.

  • the last note is too hard for her.

  • how do you get on these shows?

  • Absolutely perfect except for that last note. What a... pity.

  • I think she's done it very well, who of us could make it better

  • Eventhough The big note at the end wasnt too good, She does have a fantastic voice, and she puts all the emotion into the song

  • I'm a sop and I can hit even F6 but it hurts, both me and the public. If you can physically hit a note it doesn't mean you should necessarily do that in a song :)

  • @LingLingRox originally, the last note on "night" matched the last "all". Going higher is optional. Maybe they were trying to test her range.

  • Love it, shamefor that last note:/

  • Personally, I thought the last note was good. Very well performed.

  • The last note was B flat, that is too high for a mezzo. Even worse her technique is not up too speed in this range. She hurt her throat with that last note and you can hear how painful it was for her.

  • @NinonaNo1 I'm a mezzo and I can hit a B flat

  • @Aventura459 she is more of the mezzo belter .

  • @NinonaNo1 A mezzo can sing as high as an soprano ,but if it sounds good is an ohter queiston .There are mezzos who can sing the alto parts .Belt or the soprano parts .She is more of a belter

  • I must admit, she did well to control her belts in this so it still had the sweetness and soprano flavour

  • imagine this song in american accent... Daaaanced all naiight

  • I agree - I have been taking classical lessons since last year, and while I am stil just a learner, her final note took me by complete surprise. Why would she want to do that?? Otherwise I enjoyed it.

  • @eskimodrummer123 It's part of the song. but it's a wrong song for voice type.

  • so what if her last note was out of tune she did the rest great could you do any better ?

  • @hannahjade09 Well bear in mind this song is for a soprano and Lauren is a Mezzo soprano, her voice range is TOTALLY wrong for this song, and even now I wonder why it was chosen for her.

  • is this much lower then its ment to be??

  • @TheTomBales Not that much, I think its about a full tone lower, she goes from an F to an Bflat whereas in the original key its a G :D

  • I think she sings this wonderfully, its a damn hard song and after all that spinning and dancing around, not to mention how nervous she would be, i'm not surprised she found that last note hard! She just seemed to run out of puff for it, which we can't blame her for.

  • I wish they'd left it in the original key and just stayed at the final G, it would have been a really good performance :(

  • eWWWWWW bad last note....

  • love's her self too much?

  • i have to be completely and brutally honest here...i LOVE her hair in this

  • I like all of her actions but her final note was way out of tune.

  • Goodness gracious why downy every just put her down cause of her last note when I doubt half of you could never have done what she did on that stage that night. She is a beautiful singer and a good singer, and even if she didn't hit that last note perfectly she still looked confident and was having fun that whole time

  • Was that a cat being strangled at the end!!!!!

  • @jazzgirl15 Where?

  • @puppylover3166 I'm talking about the last note

  • Wow.....that actually was pretty good. She was flat in some areas, but not by much....this would have been given a 1 until she did that last note....that gave her the ever annoying 2

  • omg who else started laughing when that last note came out? I wasn't expecting that, i read the comments after watching the video.

  • She killed the last note.

  • That relieved sigh at the end is so endearing. She's so proud. I'm relieved lol totally ruined a great performance by an over ambitious, over rehearsed, stupid, ridiculous note.

  • Good voice, but she was not quite into the song. Maybe because of all of those dancers running around. I didn't like much the expressions she put into the song, too silly in my opinion. Agree about last note.

  • Good voice, but she was not quite into the song. Maybe because of all of those dancers running around. I didn't like much the expressions she put into the song, too silly in my opinion. Agree abuot last note.

  • siobhan's sang it better in maria

  • i went to watch grease in the west end a week ago and lauren was SAndy, inicially i was excited to see her, but she was absolutly rubbish!! she sang well but she cant act!! it was terriable!! :/

  • She's going to be Cathy in the Last Five Years in Chiswick in February through to March!

  • I think she'd make a good Eliza and I think she did a great job on this all things considered. It's a very difficult song to sing well and that last note is insane!

  • @sexiishannona Parts of that note were right. She kept wavering, like she didn't have enough air or experience with that note to hold it.

  • shes playing sandy in grease now :)

  • @sexiishannona she hit it in the rehearsal but they told her to do the spinning round which put it off, all to make Danielle's performance seem stronger.

  • @MasterIsh91 are you trying to say that Danielle is a poor performer and therefore needed the others to fail to make her look good. Have you SEEN Danielle perform??? wowza!

  • @murbuzz Well she blinks a lot, murdered 'On My Own' and was the only contestant who couldn't actually sing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' properly. Of course they needed to make her look better.

  • @MasterIsh91 her blinking is something that is not really relevant. As for "On my Own", that was a poor performance, for which she was picked up on, as were all the other contestants. How do you sing "somewhere over the rainbow" properly? Like Judy Garland? ALW told the press and the audience at the very start he did not want a Judy Garland. Danielle is totally unique and deserved to win the role fully. It's her subtle truth in her performances. even from the final 20 song she told a story.

  • Good but Siobhan sang this better in her audition for Maria :)

  • listen to the lyrics it sounds like a song about sex. lol.

I'm sorry, but it just does.

  • Lauren used to be in 'Cantabile Youth Choir' from Nuneaton. They have some videos on Youtube so if you search that you can check out her roots. I recommend 'One Voice'

  • She looks Pregnant but not fat

  • she has such an amazing range... i dont think the other girls could possibly hit that not in comparison, especially when she totally has them beat with over the rainbow. hats off to u lauren.

  • This performance makes her look bad... But actually, they gave her a song that was a tad bigger then her range. She did her best, and remained in character, which in my opinion is better. The Wizard of Oz is full of character, but no top notes like that...

  • @Frenchie893 Good point ,

  • She struggled with the big note at the end!! but ah well.

  • Yes I did superlittleboots. She wasn't high throughout until the end and then she went sharp. It was good but it could have been much better.

  • The only thing she could have done better is gone high like it is supposed to be.

  • @mnm7684 did you watch the end?

  • that last note was excruciating. which is a shame. cos the rest was very good. but that was just arughhhh

  • So talented, glad she is in grease now, she deserves to be successful

  • Last 2 notes...eeek

  • where is her dress from

  • only charlotte could pull off that last note.

  • that last note hurt my ears.... rest was brill thou!

  • mint

  • dang, i wish i could sing like this!! her last two notes could have been better though :)

  • @ebugs33 they were perfect in the dress rehearsal .....shame :/

  • eeew that was rubbish

  • her dress is stunning I think Cheryl wore that on the X factor last year

Lauren's so pretty & probably for the millionth time she has an amazing voice :) would love to be able to sing that perfectly!

  • love her, but the last 2 notes suck.

  • she's sooooooooo amazing! and such a lovely lady, met her two weeks ago love her

  • She would be a good belle in Beauty and the beast

  • Her mouth is bigger than my front door. But yeah she's good.

  • anyone know where that dress is from?

  • she is gonna be sandy in grease, I think. And she sing the word niiiighights, in the same way. lol.

I think she'll make a pretty good Sandy.

  • last note=WOAH! x

  • Andrew said there was some Soprano in her voice; this was pretty much all in chest, except for that hideous last note - she has an amazing voice I think, but not right for this song!

  • Longest dress in the series :p

  • @Deeeplyshallow That's not a good thing ;)

  • @RozLaChimmer Oh come on if you want to look at legs you've got a fair few to choose from :p

  • @Deeeplyshallow Haa just saying, all the girls have great legs, and I think the producers knew it. There were hardly any trousers or long dresses in the series! xD

  • @RozLaChimmer Of course they knew it, can you imagine Judy Garland wearing any of those Dorothy dresses? They pretty much showed as much leg as they could get away with

  • @Deeeplyshallow lol you are so right .i notice what great legs all the girls had by week 3 !! I know i am deeplyshallow as well !

  • she is briliant!!! Can't believe that she can't be the winner ><

  • her belting is awesome but she needs more support on the high note but that wil come

  • funny how some people liked the final note, and others hated it, I thought it was slightly scary and off, is that how it was meant to sound?. Loved the rest of the performence though.

  • Everything is wonderful about her performance, except for that horrid final note.

  • Absolutely brilliant singing!!!!!!

  • is charlotte severly hung over, she often seems to be rolling her eyes back in her head.

  • fantastic final note!!

  • Christ that last note! She's stunning and has a wonderful voice.

  • This gets better the more you listen to it <3 None of the other girls could even have attempted this imo. I love that dress she's wearing too =D

  • @theoneandonlySS1995

That ugly man you probably mean is Lord Adrew Lloyd Webber, he might be ugly, but he is brilliant. Looks aren't everything you know... :p

  • It's not just her beautiful voice either. She's with the band.

  • well that last note was awful, she didnt support it at all... but she still amazing, every live perfomer has missed notes its no real biggie..........

  • @ipw9njames yes, last note not perfect as she lost support early on, but not awful, just not perfect!

  • @philproductions2210 ha, i suppose aweful may have been a bit harsh... she's definately not dorothy though... she should have a role where she can really belt it out, dorothy's a bit constrained vocally...

  • @ipw9njames have you heard Lauren sing other "numbers" ? I think she can "do" softer too

probs with making comments - sorry for duplicates! hopefully sorted now

  • kool voice

  • that dress is in river island lol and i think she could easly be alsia doobry

  • lauren, screw dorothy, she can do so much better!

  • This gets better the more I watch it. She's really incredible <3

  • she looks stupid with her hair down, should have an up-do. Good performance though :D

  • Yeah I'm sure she'll do well! I was glad the other two made the final in the end..I think acting and looks-wise they were the best for Dorothy...felt so bad for Sophie in the end :(

  • I loved this, one of the best performences of the show. Lauren has a brilliant voice. I didn't think her suited to Dorothy, she should be performing a maturer role, involving more difficult songs. I would pay to see her in something else. I thought Danielle was the right choice, all along.

  • Fantastic performance and who cares if the last note wasn't great, Lauren has been consistently good each week and i'm sure she'll get lots of work

  • she has the best vocals of all of them!

  • great, downloading this, i dont care if its over, its a really good cover! regards to Lauren x

  • I love Sophie and Danielle, but could either of them even begun to tackle this song? I think not.

  • Beautiful girl, beautiful dress and a beautiful voice <3 Lauren's destined for big things :)

  • Her voice was the most beautiful, but I really hate her acting, which is a pity. At least Andrew Llyod Webber sounds like he's gonna sign her for something regardless. Very talented, glad she didn't win but equally, she deserves to become something big!

  • OH GOD! That last note, im sorry lauren fans, but that last notes was worse then emilies bad notes! :S Ouch My Ears!

  • @MartynMac77 I'd like to hear you singing that high and as a singer I can confirm thats hard and she had 1 week to learn that! Get a grip!

  • that last note really hurt my ears when i was watching it

  • lauren should have won!!

    my fave song!

    and her dress was stunning"

    xoxo

  • Last note was a bit bad but I love her performances all the same! x

  • She was really good :) but it is nothing compared to Siobhan's (from Maria) rendition of this song (during her audition)

  • that dress is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

  • the last note was horrendous......its wobbling all over the place........you can't pop belt the entire song and then try and switch it for the last note......her placement was wrong. To play this role she'd have to totally retrain her voice....

  • The best voice .best performer and a rare star in the making. She could take on Christine in Love Never Dies. I agree too good for Dorothy. destined for better things.

  • @brookekennedy25 - You're right, and better things than Love Never Dies too. Christine in the original POTO, yes, but she deserves better than the sequel.

    Kayleigh

  • I love how everyone criticises facial expression...It's musical theatre people...Facial expressions are key to conveying the emotion!!!!! I guess if anyone took time to study rather than just bitching they would know that!!!!!

  • Lauren being her usual fantastic, outstanding, beautiful self! She was my favourite. Can't wait to see what she goes on to do!

  • Excuse my french but that last note was fucking brilliant.

  • last note wasnt outta tune, she hit it, just wobbled a bit holding it.

  • best voice in any of these competitions. strange how the most talented as reiterarted by the judges didn't win/...

  • she makes strange facial expressions...

  • that last note is NOT out of tune. It's a B flat which can sound strange to an untrained ear. Ok it had a couple of wobbles when she span around but she hit the note fine.

  • @4minutewarning I have a very well trained ear..I've done this song a thousand times.. and a B flat is not at all high for a soprano..even most mezzo's can hit it :) She's usually brill but she just had a bad night..:(

  • @amyelizabethweafer

hang on i never said anything about it being high for a soprano!?!

ALW said that he heard this soprano sound from lauren..but she isn't and doesn't claim to be a proper operatic soprano singer. so considering she did pretty well i though...excellent potential anyway. it wavered when she span and had some technique issues...but people are just going "it was out of tune" it wasn't a tuning issue.

  • @amyelizabethweafer

if you've done this song a thousand times..you'll be aware that the final note in the actual score isn't a B flat anyway. i think ALW encouraged her to go for something extra. also, i too have a very well trained ear.

  • @4minutewarning Yes I am aware of that..but nine times out of ten it is changed..I changed it for an exam I did..it's not unusual
