We discovered the Mid Atlantic Ridge in 1959 and all the lessons it taught evades scientists. Wegener great ideas were termed "Utter Dammed Rot" by closed scientific minds.Today the situation is the same. Our Planet earth is expanding. Internal heat is the engine. Seas are receding and we still cant see the logic because of closed minds. The Ice Cap melt will not make any difference to sea levels: the sea recession is progressive. So here we go again in 2009 is this also "Utter Dammed Rot" ???
Our Planet is expanding: earthquakes are the manifestation of the expansion process. As the earth expands the seas recede; that is a logical conclusion. We fail to see this because the process is slow. It takes place gradually and is hardly discernable in the average lifetime. The recession of the seas has pointed historical connotations. This is why all ancient civilizations evolved on the tops of high mountains. Richard Guy
