That bad season last year wasnt even a surprise bc we lost almost are whole team. People put Carolina in the preseason top 10 that year because they are ALMOST always one of the top 5 teams in the nation but that year we werent. This year we arent either but thats becausewe are still rebuilding. UNC will have a natl title in at least 5 years again.

Augistine probably played 8 min the entire game because every time he got in the phantom whistles started blowing. id say that if that game was played 10 times changing refs every game, UNC wins 1 outa those 10. Im not saying you didn't have a good team, but you rode the refs all the way to the title in that tournament - not even just in the finals

I think it shows that we had a lot of poise to win that game with all the moving screens that weren't called against Illinois. That's the only way they were able to get their wide open threes -- which didn't help them in the end.

With all due respect, I think you have that backwards, Jardo. Carolina was the best team that year and was pounding them until Illinois got hot for a stretch in the second half. The game shouln't have been as close as it was but the best team won so it doesn't matter I suppose.

maybe because our center had 4 fouls in the first half because the reffs were letting sean may throw his big ass around and his big ass elbows around without consequence.. and Augustine gets called for fouls when he gets elbowed in the face.. not to mention the ACC sucked that year...37-2..wont see that again for a while
